Just for the record, in case people don't know, this place is actually Fairfield Hills in CT. They changed the name to prevent people from breaking in. But the location is actually a state park so you can visit if you want.

I think 'Scariest Places on Earth' is a bit better. I guess since it lacked the whole "MTV drama effect." I dunno. I just think this show really brought the paranormal subject into something that could be interesting to watch on TV. And with shows like Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures being so successful, just shows how popular/interesting it really is. Personally, I like a scientific approach rather than the 'lets use a psychic and an Ouija board then run and scream when something happens'

I learned that the real name of this hospital is called "Fairfield State Hospital"

It is now demolished. A new building called Newtown Youth Academy now stands where the hospital once stood. A local newspaper said that the events and hauntings were "misguided". Which means that these events did not happen. But I still liked this episode.

I believe so. Overall, MTV tried to disguise it's identity entirely by calling it St. Agnes instead of it's real name. So saying that was probably in hopes to keep it disguised to give unreal facts so it couldn't be looked up. Unfortunately, people found out about it quick and were "exploring" for themselves. Hence, the town no longer allows film crews or anything of the such on land anymore.

I'm from Boston and in the 80's me and my friends would go to a place just like this as much as possible to scare the piss out of ourselves. The hair on the back of my neck still rises watching this. I thought this was the asylum because it looks and is set up exactly like it. It's in Danvers Ma. If you watch the movie w/Rob Russo "Session #9" that's the place we went! Loved every second of it! I love this show! But alot of the fear is actually created by the contestants themselves, because alot of the "history" that the contestants are told isn't actually real. Some of it is, but alot of it is made up to make the places more intimidating. The only episode where everything was real was the Mina Dos Estrellas episode. So, the experiences are real, but alot of the background history isn't.
