  • So if you are vegetarian, please do not stop eating beans or nuts because that is essential to the function of your body, if you do not eat those at the very least, you risk putting your body in danger from conditions such as hypoglycemia due to glycosuria or albuminuria, which can lead to serious conditions like type 2 diabetes and renal failure

Again, this is from an almost lifelong vegetarian and biology student.

  • proteins are essential in every part of the cell, from ribosomes, to dna and rna, to actual cell walls (cell membranes) which are made up of lipids and proteins, so to abstain from protein, especially from protein-rich vegetarian foods such as beans and legumes would be very, very risky and very, very foolish

  • eating too little of protein can cause your cell walls to not be able to properly hold and retain fluid, thus not being able to maintain the barrier, and cause cytoplasm to leak out of the cell into the interstitial fluid, thus causing nutrition loss, and thus causing wasting syndrome which will cause your cells to seek protein through your very own muscles

  • Protein is one of the most important things in the consumption of the human diet. Yes, protein can be consumed through most any consumable thing, and yes, I abstain from meat, but to tell people to shy away from high-protein foods is foolish and can lead to several health issues such as type 2 diabetes because your body needs proteins such as albumin for your kidneys to properly function.

  • Dude, iodine and protein are completely different chemicals. I am vegetarian myself, but I am also a biology student.
