  • this video really needs an update. nuff' said.

  • @rocerboy97

You do realize this was a year ago, right? Kinda late to the party much?

And what does Kinect and Playstation Move have to do with anything?

  • my opinion about Nintendo is it is an above average video game company nuff said

  • yes for like two games for Wii and the rest for GC backwards compatibility.

  • @geterdonein01

I have to ask...what kind of game would No More Heroes be if people only played it with the GC controller? What about Madworld for that matter?

They would be like every other console that only uses controllers at the moment.

Oh, and BTW, about the Wiimote, if it sucks, then why is Microsoft coming out with Natal to try and compete with them, and why is Sony making the Motion Wand for their PS3?

  • ok u say people are quick to leave nintendo after 20 years thats cause nintendo is quick to leave us for some casual gamers who dont know shit about a damn game and i find even the hardcore games for the wii to be for casual gamers to i mean have seen how easy all of them fucking are and if there not then there too short like for example i like house of the dead, but it was short as hell and as for redsteel it was too damn easy and the sword fights blow

  • Great video! I agree with you, especially on the graphics. What good is great graphics if the actual game is crap? And Nintendo has a LOT more games I love than Microsoft and Sony.

P.S.: No offence to Microsoft and sony.

  • Graphics dont get me as much as playabilty, and that let me down with the Wii. i hate the Wiimote, its so inaccurate and your arms get tired of holding the thing after a few hours of pointing it at the TV like a remote control. what happend to gamecube controller support? oh well, ill stick with PC =)

  • Wii Motion Plus can fix that problem.

  • Not hardly, Wii Motion Plus is an advanced accelerometer to capture motion more effectively. Im talking about the IR pointer being a pain, and WMP has nothing to do with that.

  • I have a wii motion plus and it didn't do a damn thing, not to mention it only works for a few games.

  • finally someone that has a good argument.

  • nice to see a vid thats more positve for a change instead of the moanin minnies out there!! ps tellme more about the " duct tape & gamecube thing" ?? cheers ,,

  • Apparently, people complain about the Wii's graphics being only one and a half Gamecubes duct-taped together.

  • Okay, I agree with you on the reasons, It's cheap and easy to find, it innovated the gaming industry, it has established franchises, and in has a wide audience. But look back on the Gamecube days, Nintendo cared about all of it's customers. It had hardcore and some "softcore" games. But when the Wii came out, they slowly left hardcore, and for what, money. And I ask you, who are the hardcore gamers, us, it's our generation. Why stay with a company that stabs you in the back?

  • I LOVED Nintendo, I own ALL of their consles! But they stabbed all of us in the back so they could make money off of your kid sister and grandma! What do you have to look forward to with the Wii, NSMBrs. Wii? SMG2? A dumbed down, easier version of Zelda? The only company the I've seen really respecting us is High Voltage with The Conduit, The Grinder, and Gladiator AD. And I salute them, but face it. The Wii is a kids consle, and why, because thats the way Nintendo is making it...

  • Oh, and one more thing. You said that graphics don't make the game. Your right, but they sure as hell are important! People love playing games with good graphics! It increases the realism of the whole thing. Graphics increase sales, and produce a better review! Now, Nintendo isn't making good graphic games because they get their games out quicker, and they don't want to spend the time, care, and money to put that into a game...

  • If people are seriously looking for the best graphics in the world, why not just watch a Pixar film or Spirits Within for eye candy?

Seriously, though, graphics DON'T make the game. Yes, they're important, but so is gameplay.

Why is Megaman 9 so popular, or at least got a cult following? Because it's the first classic Megaman game since Megaman 8 and has been much anticipated. And the gameplay!

It has 8-bit graphics, but who cares?

  • You forgot No More Heroes 2(have yet to play the first one), Metroid Other M, Sin and Punishment 2(have yet to play the first one), and Madworld.

And Game Overthinker said this best: VIDEO GAMES ARE TOYS.

  • The Gamecube was pretty much third-place though, behind the PS2 and Xbox. Therefore, some companies, such as Midway, left Nintendo.

  • Also, how did Nintendo stab anyone in the back if they're trying to recoup their losses from the N64 and Gamecube sales?

Besides, SamueltehG33k said that even hardcore titles don't sell as much as casual titles.

I REALLY wish people would stop this stupid hardcore/casual war and stop acting like "I don't want THIS Nintendo; I want MY Nintendo! Everything was better with MY Nintendo!"

We had our fun with the games of past. Let the new generation have a go. Games shouldn't be "exclusive".

  • Yeah, your right, games shouldn't be exclusive. Ninteno has moved on to a larger crowd, and yeah, I'm pissed. But I've found companies that are in with my crowd. But my childhood was with Nintendo, I was faithful to them. But no one in my crowd wants what Nintendo is doing. I don't respect them, I wont come back, and I'm pissed. But It will pass over, all gamers that were with Nintendo have started to move on, I'm still in the process of it. To me, it's like a best friend stabbed me in the back.

  • How have they stabbed you in the back exactly?

I stick with Nintendo, because at least, they make more games that don't take themselves seriously unlike the grim and gritty FPSes or Grand Theft Auto IV.

  • I'm actually not someone who plays that many FPSes, I like RPG's. They've stabbed people with my taste in the back by kinda leaving us in the dust. They've moved on to something else, so be it. I'm happy with my good old N64, Gamecube, SNES, and NES. Oh, and that video you sent me, you realize that when people like you make these movies it just stirs up a flame war right. Your asking for someone like me to come in. I don't go around complaining, but when you make videos attacking us, I do...

  • You're irrevant bias is amazing, Plus it's also amazing that you think Nintendo is better off building more and more worthless accessories for the Wii then it is for Nintendo to try to come up wth some quality titles. This is why Wii sales have be declining and why SEGASammy is preparing a console for both casual gamers and hardcore games called "Ringedge."

  • nintendo can suck my dick if your going to play a game online and b casual bout it and not b hardcore thats fine but don't come in take over the games ffor us hardcore gamers and have comnpanies change the industry to meat your needs leave well enough alone 360 rules wii and ps3 can suck my balls

  • riiiight, cause its SO HARDCORE to get cussed out by a five year-old on XBOX live

  • Yeah, and while there's no voice option on Wii Online, that MAY be a blessing.

  • sorry for the miss spelling its late and i didnt go back over what i typed

  • ok i agree with you about the price is affordable thats good but im a graphic person i like having good graphics on SOME types of games like war games but some other games with really god graphics might actually look better with less graphics and from what HandgunDylan said yea i like games challendging and if i wand them extrememly difficult ill just play a harder mode great vid man

  • Thanks!

Also, if I may point something out, there are also games with great graphics, but they have such long cutscenes, like Final Fantasy XII. The better the graphics get, the more people are gonna treat some of their games like interactive cinema.

  • the prob with wii is it's 3rd party support always sucking if it had decent 3rd party support like every ever nintendo console i wouldnt hate it so much

  • You made some good points... if the arguement is about money. Though what you said for the most part was true, you're missing the reason this whole thing started, they are abandonning at firgurativly, and possibly litterally, fucking their die hard fans up the ass. It's the same thing as when artist sell out, they tend to start making music/movies/pieces that go for a larger scale as opposed to that of those who made them famous. Now, I know they are making games that are more "hardcore", but...

  • They still haven't been released so there are still possibilities for them to be complete balls. For all we know, nintendo is just trying to market these games as "hardcore", but when they come out, they will be just as easy as any other nintendo game or probably complete pieces of shit. All I'm saying is don't get your hopes up too high because you might be disappointed in the end.

  • I understand what u are getting at, u kinda disprove your own point. Yeah, the reason DS outsells PSP is because of touchscreen, and Wii outsells PS3 & 360, but not due to there games. Nintendo knew that without the touchscreen & nunchuck, they didn't have anything lined up to beat off the competition. They dumbed down the games and they've made NO mention of new DK, Kirby, & F-Zero games. And as a Nintendo fan, Galaxy & Sunshine were the only Mario games I NEVER wanted to play

  • OK, I'm not trying to get angry, but all I seem to read from these comments are "dumbed down" this, "dumbed down" that. So people who say that want to play extremely difficult games that NO ONE except masochists(and gaming gods) can beat? No accessibility whatsoever? So NO ONE can enjoy it?

I'm sorry, I have to vent. Nintendo has to be doing something right if they beat both other companies this gen. If they combined what the other two had with THEIR stuff, they might end up blending in.

  • I don't like God-level hard games either, but the last Mario installments, along with Zelda and Metriod, were lacking in terms of challenge to the point it was like not even playing them. Seriously, even u had to admit that compared to Mario 64, even Super Mario World, that Galaxy and Sunshine were child-like. And like I said, they outsold the others not because of games, but because of the technical innovations.

  • Some people like like extremely difficult games, believe it or not. I don't understand why, but I'm one of those people. That's all.

  • I was about to mention something about this being similar to what I saw on the game over thinker, but as you put him in your special thanks, i think you already knew that.

Love the music, by the way, and did you get yourself a mic?

  • Not a new one, no.

I'm worried about this current one I have, and I don't have much confidence in it working 100%, so I haven't used it.

  • Excellent video. You've boosted my confidence in Nintendo. Thanks. Besides, 2009 seemes like a good year for Nintendo (The Conduit, MadWorld, etc.)

  • Thanks! I did forget to mention those two games...also there IS Captain Rainbow(whether it's coming to America or not, I dunno).

  • Part 3:

Yes, Nintendo MIGHT need to balance their library. But note that this is the first time that Nintendo's been #1 in console sales since the...Super Nintendo(?)

Besides, they still have experience. Heck, they even still have CONSOLES, unlike their former rival SEGA. So that says something.

    All businesses are flawed though:

Original Xbox probably flopped in Japan

    PS3: 599 US Dollars!!!

Nintendo: Virtual Boy and CD-i involvement

But let's not start a hardcore vs. casual war here.

  • Part 2:

It's been a business since the 1800s as a playing card company in Japan and it's a business NOW.

By limiting the demographic to the hardcore gamers, they would limit their income, thus taking away their ability to make your Starfox Wii game. We don't know what Nintendo's doing behind closed doors. We'll have to wait until E3 2009 or TGS 2009. You act like that Starfox game for the Wii is gonna be the next Duke Nukem Forever.

Why are you so militant against casual games/gamers?

  • nintendo dont care about us hardcore gamers they just threw us in the trash so i wouldnt be defending

  • ....

OK, Nintendo didn't throw ANYONE away, OK? If you want them to cater towards the hardcore, then you tell THEM about it and not bash them passively.

  • i already did but they obviously dont care, they are only just aming at the elderly and the damn little kids and if u saw E3 they fucking suked and only showed casual games that no body gives a fuck about unless u wna play kiddy fuck games. i bought the fuckin wii because i expected a star fox game SOMETHING but no! why do they have to focus on casuals, i bet in the next years nintendo is gona be screrwed with no money because they will loose all there customers

  • They're coming out with Punchout for the Wii.

Hopefully that should be enough for now. And if Nintendo hates hardcores so much, then WHY has Contra 4 been released for the DS?

  • oh what a fucking joy another shooter thats going to be pointless and theyll probably make it more accessible yeah what a fucking releif idk why u protecting does shit bags when they will not come up with some fun games

  • Because the Wii is currently the ONLY next-gen console I have, OK? Plus, I do not normally like FPSes.

And no, they didn't make it more "accessible"(I don't know why you say "accessible", like it's profanity). It's actually kinda hard.

So you want Nintendo to make their games INACCESSIBLE to everyone EXCEPT for the hardcore? Listen, Nintendo's not perfect, but it's a business, and as such, businesses make decisions that will attempt to attract the largest possible profits. (continued)

  • its my only console too but not for long cause im pissed at them and they just screwed themselves ok and yes they will make them more fukin accessible moyofuck said it himself, look im a HUGE nintendo fan but they just pisseed me off b/c they think that they will probably get more money by making more casual games now some might actually enjoy that i understand but why fix something that dont need fixing? WTF there screwed ok

  • Keyblade, have you even SEEN a Contra game before? It's not a first-person shooter like Metroid Prime or Call of Duty; it's a shooting platformer like Metal Slug or Gunstar Heroes. Contra 4 on the DS plays VERY much like Contra 3 on SNES. And it actually is really fun (though really difficult), especially with a buddy. There's nothing to really make it "more accessible" other than seeing the action on two screens.

  • Thank you, RedSalamander! I appreciate that!

  • I still consider wii games to soft for me

  • Wow! You do know how to calm down the people on the subject. I wanna say congrats on that. Unlike KrawniktheIdiot who rant and rave like a unintelligent baboon, you speak yours the calm way, and I wanna say thanks. ^^

  • No problem, man!

  • I don't consider OoT to be the "bad old days." It was one of the best titles launched in the zelda series.

So to answer your question, yes. I would rather they make Zelda games of the same quality as OoT, a Link to the Past, and TP. Those were great.

While I'm on the subject, I would like a donkey kong country, castlevania on wii, a starfox flight shooter like 64, and if they wanted to apeal to new players, make new franchises. Nintendo is creative, I'm sure they can come up with something!

  • No, I didn't say OoT was a bad game, but I HATED the Water Temple.

I used "bad old days" to refer to the difficulty, not the game.

  • I've absolutely agree with you. Yes, I do think the E3 was bad, but not only for Nintendo, but for MS and Sony too. Not a lot of games appealed to me this year, but the fanboys take this way out of proportion. You see, the fans love to complain about Nintendo releasing too many Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, or Kirby games, but when we lack them, they still complain of a lack of games. They need to make up their minds before thinking about bashing companies.

  • Nintendo is trying to balance the amount of Hardcore and Casual games. The fans need to understand that we can't just get too many good games at once, not to mention that there are people who have to wait until they get enough money to buy one game after another. There's now like a new good game every week on the 360, and PS3 is starting to get the good games, but the Wii takes time.

  • I don't own a PS3 yet, but I own a Wii and 360, and I try to get whatever game that interests me. I'm not too big on party games and FPS's, but I do enjoy a handful of platformers.

I don't care about graphics, but what I do care about is if a game is fun and enjoyable. The fanboys are part of the reason why I think this generation is the worst.

  • I agree with you.

I'm not too big on Guitar Hero(I sucked when I played GHIII at my uncle's house), which seems to be one of the big titles right now. And I'm not big on Metal Gear Solid...YET.

Nintendo DOES take time on their BIG titles. Until then, they're gonna tide us over with the Wii Sports, WiiFit, and Wii Music. Don't worry, maybe an F-Zero title is in the works, or maybe Starfox. You never know.

  • "dumbing down" zelda. Zelda is already as light hearted and fairy-tale-esque as you can go. Make it easier? The major appeal to Zelda is the interesting puzzles, difficult to find collectibles, and mini-games.

If you make those not take any sort of challenge then yes; the Zelda game will be a bust.

    Sales != quality.

  • Would you rather we return to the "bad old days" of the OoT Water Temple? Took me freaking forever to get through that.

  • Personally I think Zelda OOT was the best Zelda Game out there and I absolutely hated Twilight Princess and Wind Waker. I dont know why but they just didnt have the BANG! That Zelda OOT did during its time.

If they could recreate that same BANG! that was created with Zelda OOT then that would save them from their downfall.

  • Hardcore gamers care about 2 things-breasts and violence

  • No, we care about ACTUAL GAMES!!!

  • Oh, so Brawl wasn't an actual game? Metroid Prime 3? Twilight Princess? Super Mario Galaxy? Wario Land: Shake It? Mad World? Captain Rainbow?(look it up, there is a game called Captain Rainbow coming out for the Wii)

And then there's Sonic Unleashed and Sonic and the Black Knight.

Oh, and The Conduit...can't forget that.

Geez, you act like the Wii Fit isn't a game...sure, it's not a conventional game, but it's still a game.

See, this is why I'm starting to hate this casual vs. hardcore war.

  • I didn't say all games on the Wii are casual! I said that many games are, and hardcore games are quite rare

  • I'm sorry, man...it's just that I'm tired of people saying "Casual games suck; Hardcore games rule!" or vice versa.

But consider this: The N64 was pretty much third place after PS1 and Dreamcast. The Gamecube was third after PS2 and Xbox.

Nintendo was probably very poor or almost out of business after those two consoles...Now that the Wii is number one, Nintendo needs all the "casual gamer" sales they can get to recoup, and THEN maybe they'll make a more balanced library of hardcore and casual.

  • Dude shut up i have been a fan of nintendo since i was born i loved it and played it all the time and i can now say with pride of being a nintendo fanboy for 11 years(i dont count the years untill i knew about it) that nintendo has gone down the crapper completly. i totaly agree with GMX7. they need to stop being faggots and get there act together. i used to think microsoft and sony sucked but they dont at least sony has the best series ever(MGS4) and Xbox 360 has like everything. so think agien

  • In a interview Reggie said that they choose to keep the game quiet (well he didnt say quiet) until its closer to when its going to launch so when they announce it people will be happy. I think once they make more casual games then they will make more hardcore games ,bu there probilby be casual games still too.

  • About the 4 reasons why the Wii is selling well

Price- it's priced low because you don't get any big features with it. The SP3 is so expensive because unlike the 360, where you have to buy everything, you get everything right out of the box

Innovation- just because something's innovative doesn't mean it's good. And motion-sensing technology has been around for years

franchises- the only think Nintendo is dping to their fans

audience- I bet casual games will destroy the industry one day.

  • Price-The Price of the PS3 doesn't include the games or the controllers. And last I checked the games for the PS3 were about 60 bucks. And suppose you want games like Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Warhawk, Assassin's Creed, Final Fantasy XIII, Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance, Resistance 2, Motor Storm, Devil May Cry 4, Ratchet and Clank, Infamous, GTA4 and Little Big Planet. Yes, I included the multi platform games. The number of titles I listed is 13, so 13*60=780 dollars.

    Jud

  • (continued)

Ignore that "jud" part...anyway, depending on whether each game is still 60 bucks or are lower, that might be the total of each game. I just try and find used games and play those, because that saves me money.

I may get an Xbox 360 soon, but there are only like a couple of titles I want to play: Ninja Gaiden II and Bioshock(even though it's an FPS based on the works of Ayn Rand, which I haven't read)...if there are more high-profile titles, then please list them.

  • Innovation- "just because something's innovative doesn't mean it's good." Then what about the DS?

"And motion-sensing technology has been around for years" Well, I probably wasn't aware of its early days then.

"franchises- the only thing Nintendo is doing for their fans" At least they currently promote more franchises than Sega, who only really promoted Sega as of late; sure, there's the occasional Virtua Fighter or the Golden Axe game, but as far as its other franchises go, they're ignored.

  • Finally a non-anti-Nintendo video response. Awesome.

  • Games are too easy. When they are hard they are hard in the wrong aspecs, forcing the player to take a long sequence of events to reach that point again, frustrating them further. Huzzah. The prince of Persia mechanic was spot-on in my opinion, you can mess up constantly but you REALLY need to screw up to have to retrace your steps.

  • You forgot to say always bring a towel.

  • so, just because theres a bad E3 confrence, people are leaving? thats like saying I wont play Halo because I Like the wii. BTW, I read your bulliten (I go to MS200's channel every once and a while and look at the bulitens if they look intresting) and losing 2 subscribers isnt a big deal, you still have almost 50 subscribers and Im sure you'll get 20 times more if you make good videos

  • I would make good videos IF I had a microphone right now(but of course, I stutter something, so, that sucks) or even a webcam(but I'm worried that a webcam would enable a hater to trace the face to my identity and find my house and kill me...absurd, I know, but still...)

  • you dont need a mic or a webcam to make good videos, I have almost 15 subscribers and I didnt have a mic until my Platform racing 2 reveiw

  • Also, one play of Red Steel was enough for me to junk this whole notion that the Wii's beyond-buggy motion sense controller is "innovation it'self".

  • Look, I get it; Nintendo is a business, they're making a business decision, and it seems to be working out for them. No argument or problem with that.

However, I do not plan on joining them on the wagon. Sorry. I can only take stomping out the same Zelda/Mario franchises for so long. In fact, I could take them as far as the SNES.

And before you accuse me of loving "Scruffy Self Employed Landscape contractors", I'll remind you that my favorite franchise is Shin Megami Tensei :(

  • Never played it, so I wouldn't know that much about it. Plus it looks too dark for my taste.

  • You sound exactly like Reggie Fucks-Aime. "OMG SAELS LOK AT R SAELS WE DOIN GEWD!!11!!!1one!"

  • btw i loved i wannabe the guy it was fun and hard

  • Cloud8765 and UltraJMan beg to differ. From their Let's Plays, I only saw the game as a scary, terrible place at which I'd tremble in fear.

...where even Angels fear to tread...

  • >:O nintendo is eeeeeeeeeeeeviiiiiiiiiil! microsoft is nice

  • microsoft is the EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLL one!!!

  • Now I do not want anyone bashing consoles or companies either. (Stupid apostrophe key keeps activating quick find)

All I want is for everyone to CALM DOWN.

  • What did I do??? Im only typeing.

  • It's cool. I just didn't want anyone to bash consoles or companies.

Each company has their strengths and weaknesses.

  • Yeah, go stick to your 404 messages, kthx. >/

I hope your Vista crashes badly.

  • BTW, this was aimed at the Microsoft fandunces that usually stick to H3 like glue or Assassin's Creed like your feet to the ground below you.

If you want nice graphics, go get a 4GB RAM PC, and run some high-end game; you'll give yourself a 'gasm.

FINALLY, someone willing to actually stand by Nintendo's side on this - even though they do run the same thing on for years.

Newsflash, the casual games are beginning to wreck the hardcore. There's maybe 3 or 4 good hardcore games. SSB:B is one.

  • ? the fuck?

  • and dont rate my comments it pisses me off even when their thumbs up

  • i like nintendo becuz the game systems live for along time. a really long time. ive had my n64 for a decade and it still works really good

  • Yeah, agreed, because I mean, look at Sony and their bulky PS2...dead in a few years.

  • the only failed thing from nintendo was the game cube, it dies after 2 or 3 years, i went through 2 game cubes before i got the wii.

  • I've had my PS2 since 2002 and it hasn't broke once.

  • PS2s are the most selling video game consoles of all time.

    NO HATIN'

  • Well, I looked it up and you were right. But it was also because it had a DVD player.

  • Wait, the bulky one? I guess it was just certain first-gen PS2 models then.

  • your 4th reason is the reason why they are dumbing down their games, money. Nintendo has turned to the greedy side and will sabotage the wii so they can make money. All I have to say is Nintendo's next console better be something close to a damn miracle.

  • OK, then tell Nintendo to make hardcore games that are totally inaccessible for kids and only allow hardcore gamers to play them. Thus decreasing profit, and then EVERYONE loses.

Geez, all I hear is "dumbing down" and "Nintendo betrayed us" and "Nintendo's games are kiddy". OK, to those people, I say "Have fun with your scruffy unshaven self-employed landscaping contractors". >:D

Gaming shouldn't ONLY be played by an elite group of people. Let everyone else see what the big fuss is for once.

  • Not only would profits decrease from catering to only the hard core, but the industry would eventually get smaller since fewer gamers will be interested over time. In other words, we would have a videogame crash stemming from not enough profit instead of crappy games like in '83.

  • You made the best point on here about gaming audience, Kuma. I mean, games are expensive to make and are pretty expensive to buy, so the more gamers there are, even CASUAL gamers, the more money the game companies make, and the more profit they will receive. EVERYONE WINS!

  • Long message:

In the long run, that's true, but too many are a bit too short-sighted to see that.

I have a friend that's hoping to be a game developer. I've helped him out with the plotline of an RPG that he and I are trying to brew, and if we do bring it out; casual and hard gamers alike will probably like it a lot.

To taste the effort of making games, make a game yourself, and put it on NG. =/

Hardcore gamers shouldn't complain about the casual ones, though, unless they're actually dumb.

  • I currently don't have experience in playing a game...I don't have Stencyl or Game Maker....at least not now...nor do I have Multimedia Fusion.

But I agree with your hardcore gamers complaining about casual gamers. I mean, a game's a game, and the game's still gonna be played one way or another.

  • There's more ways than that to make games. Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition and Dark GDK, RPG Maker... ...But if you do the C++ version, you have MUCH more control over everything.

I have a LOT of experience in games; a jack of all trades gamer, really. I only have a weakness in sports games.

But yeah, it's VERY hard to make a high-caliber game that can actually be compared to the rest of them.

If any of you feel like taking this challenge on, I'll be more than happy to help.

  • That's the problem...C++ looks kinda confusing to me....I did take a class in programming once...but I only got a B in it...and even THEN, I only managed because I kept visiting my professor during office hours in order to get help on projects.

  • yea but there is one thing that killed all those resons and that is: MGS4

  • OK, MGS4 may be good, but I haven't played the first three games, and since you can't really play it without playing the first three, I disagree with that comment. Plus, stealth isn't really my strong point.

That's the thing about Nintendo franchises: Most of them have games that still work as standalone games.

  • this tells all three games main point so you really dont need to play them

  • Are you SURE we don't need a PRIOR knowledge of the first three games?

  • i think the problem of nintendo is that they are making MORE games for young ppl and for family, and thats a big mistake coz most of the wii titles are for young audiences

  • If most of them are child-and-family-accessible, then it's easy to get into. Therefore it helps Nintendo gain profit.

Nintendo can only make games for the hardcore for so long. There are only a small portion of people who are hardcore gamers. The more new gamers there are, the more profit they make, the more games they can make. Some of which may even be for hardcore gamers.

  • OK, so most of the titles are family-accessible. So what?

Do you want Nintendo to jump on the bloody, dark, gruesome, violent, FPS-saturated bandwagon in order for people to NOT hate on them?

You want there to be decapitations and gore galore?

If they did that, then Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft would all be the same.

Why can't people have the freedom to buy whatever console they want without others telling them to their face that "it's a waste of money. Buy the 360 or the PS3 instead"?

  • you say graphics don't make the game, games touch three senses. Touch, you feel the controller and the rumble from the controller. Sound, you can hear the games audio. Sight, you can see the TV screen, so yes graphics make 1/3 of the game.

  • What I meant is that some people, especially developers, place more emphasis on graphics than gameplay.

Lair is one example. I've seen gameplay footage.

People think the Wii sucks because the graphical power on it is inferior to PS3 and/or 360, when everyone should try to focus on gameplay AS WELL AS graphics. Everything needs to be balanced. Sights, Sounds, Controls, and overall gameplay.

  • Hopefully, many others will get the point that Nintendo isn't abandoning them and are making games for them.

  • Yeah, I hope so too.

  • i think the real "old saying" is if it aint broke, don't fix it

  • I guess so, especially with Mario, Megaman, Super Smash Bros. and Zelda.

Too bad guys like Sega forgot that lesson when Sonic went 3D.

  • Wow their multitude of games from other consoles just like the fucking 360 you can just buy microsoft points that are pretty easy to buy! you forgot to mention that wii points are shit and are like fucking 20 - 40 dollars when you can just go to Wal Mart and buy 360 points for 19 $

  • Geez...No offense, but you're starting to come off as a 360 fanboy, plus you have "Why the Wii Sucks" in your favorites, so that tells me something.

    1. You say that the 360 is superior to EVERYTHING, yet you ignore the fact that Wii is outselling the 360 and PS3. I'm not boasting about it. It IS.

    2. You hate the Wii, and go out of your way to bash it six ways to Sunday.

    3. Please spell correctly, and use grammar and punctuation correctly.

    4. I don't have a 360, so how would I know about this?

  • UR right about evrything else but the wii has no third party! only main companie making good games are Sega Nintendo And Ubi Soft! But it does hav alot of games alot that suck!

  • OK, like I said, the PS3 and 360 may have better third party games RIGHT NOW, but the Wii will get better over time.

Plus you probably can't blame the third parties. They just don't know how to implement the Wiimote correctly. Also, you forget about Zack and Wiki, Okami, and Umbrella Chronicles.

It's only been a year and a half. Give it time. The good games will come out.

  • Well, it's not a matter of third parties not using the controls right. The problem is that they dump shovelware onto the Wii to make a quick buck.

Why didn't you tell me that you gave me a shoutout? I was on my sister's computer to get to my profile and I find this.

  • I'm sorry, Kuma. I should have told you, but you did make a point on GMX7's vid.
