I am at a strange position in this argument; my two favorite bands are slipknot and TMV. now, i believe that slipknot is one of the (if not "the") greatest bands on the planet. just my opinion. i will admit that the mars volta are far more skilled than slipknot, but to say Omar bests them all is an exaggeration. actually, Jim root is technically more skilled than Omar, but he isn't writing the songs. i prefer Corey's voice to Cedric's, as well.

If you're just starting to listen to TMV, then Goliath IS really such an amazing album, but once you reach further back into shit like Deloused and Frances and discover how much better off they were with Jon Theodore with them, then it's not likely you would love Goliath as much.
