I had two also exactly the same colours in the 80's. Tweedle dee and tweedle dum. I had them for quite a few years. They died in '86 very close times to each other... I think when one died, the other was confused and lonely and died soon after ;(

I love those two birds and still think about them. These videos made me remember them. I wish I knew then what i know now so that i could have taken care of them better ;( or given them back to the pet store so that they could be with other birds...

@meriprem believe it or not its actually good for birds to have something to listen to, like a radio in the back ground, my budgie loves having the radio on all day, and if not for the radio these birds might not have become so chirpy.

You have to be around them a lot, and show them that you are "safe".  Like only using your hands to put food & water in the cage. It may take a long while for them to get use to you. :)

Waldo, I'm concerned that the condition of your budgie makes YOU concerned enuff to ask about it. Do a Google for "budgie groups" & post your droopy wing description. If you don't have the money to properly care for your birds, please consider offering them up for adoption. I don't know what's going on with your little guy, but it WOULD NOT HURT to take him to an avian vet!!! Seriously. And no, you can't "trade in" at Petsmart: they are in the biz of making money, ie: SELLING animals, etc.

thx. i dont care if my bidgie had one wing and one leg.... i would always love him. i got him as a present for my brother but ended up keeeping him. i got it a partner but shes not very nice.... even though we play with her everyday, could u also tell me whats up with HIM not taking. he dosnt really do much exept what u ask him to. i no it sounds crazy but my bird is sooo quiet

Your little guy is an INDIVIDUAL with his own personality. Maybe he just doesn't have anything he wants to say. Imagine what it would be like if you were ~forced~ to only associate with one other person, EVER, and you didn't particularly LIKE that person? That may be what's going on with your little guy. Don't try to force him to do something, cuz if he doesn't like doing it, it will only stress him. He may end up doing what you want, but he certainly won't be happy about it. :(

Be around him a lot; talk to him; leave his cage open, so he can come out when he wants. If you are closer to the other budgie, he will see that you are "okay" and "safe", and will eventually feel more secure around you. Don't be disappointed if this doesn't happen real soon, tho: I have a 'tiel that I've had for Y-E-A-R-S, and he still is very suspicious of me. (Don't know what his previous life was like, seein' as how I got him from a shelter...)
