@Shadowbudd and @TomTom40202 I feel for y'all... I really do. I play the 1st Trumpet part for all the movements and during the 2nd movement I occasionally peek over at the 2nd and 3rds....half of them are asleep. :P
This song is amazing except when your on trumpet part and not cornet. god intermezzo gets boring after sitting there for 4 minnutes looking stupid and not playing at all with 100 conscutive measures of rest mind you.
@Shadowbudd THANKYOU! I have the 2nd trumpet part instead of the cornet part, so me and the other 1st trumpet are just sitting there bored out of our minds for a whole movement!
Are people tripping a middle school band has no hope of playing this and having it sound any where close to a finished piece of music. This is a hard grade 5 low 6 piece of music and only the best high school band in the country could or should even attempt it.
@pgcpsvideo well you know what? you shouldn't dis them just because they tried to play this. I'm in 8th grade and we have 7th, 9th and 10th grade playing with us and they sounds just as good as us. Granted, they could have used more dynamics and held back just a little but I don't think it sounded horrible.
this is cool my band class is playing this for our winter concert. they r good but yeah. image 8th graders doing this which is my grade so playing this piece.
this song is BRILLIANT! i was first part flute and it was my fav piece ive ever played! btw i seriously doubt a 6th grader could come CLOSE to playing this. in NO situation. lol
@crissangelfreak666 Yes it is, and its the truth. to only be playing an instrument for 1 or 2 years, no one could pull this off unless you started playing at the age of 8. my again that is MY opinion.
I played this piece 6 years ago (sixth grade) now I'm a senior in high school and wish I was still in band so I could play it again. I was first chair alto, tenor and bari sax. <3 band geeks rule =]
@sk8erboy618 I did play it jackass. I was in a summer mentor band with people of ALL ages. mmmkaythnx. Think about what you say b4 you go and assume shit. =D buhbye.
@crissangelfreak666 DId i push a button? You seem kinda mad, but if you say you played it in 6th grade for a summer thing..then good for you. Be aware, that i still doubt a "summer mentor band" with 6th graders could play this.
@crissangelfreak666 I doubt you played this song noob. Ha you seem tense, and mad so thats adding fuel to the fire. Your the jacckass my friend...douche
@sk8erboy618 kk. whatevs. obviously you have a problem with my talent. otherwise you would have left this alone. but anywho i've got better things to do than deal with a fake person and argue on someone's youtube video. So toodles =]
@crissangelfreak666 Now im a fake person ha. You should give me the name of the band and a video then I'll believe you. Until then your still a noob ha :)
@crissangelfreak666 not gonna lie have to go with sk8terboy on this one. Its very doubtful you played this in the 6th grade. Even in any kind of honors band. We just played it last year (my junior year) and it took A LOT of cleaning time. And all he did was say he didnt beleive you played it in the first place. You blew it WAY out of proportion dude.
@tubamatt3 Like I said before. It was a MENTOR band for ALL AGES there were people in there 40's there. And we practiced for weeks. Not that I have to explain myself to you though.
Oh... and quit referring to me as a dude. I'm NOT a dude kthnx =]
@Dejman13 alto saxes rule man!!!! im going to get mine soon cuz im want one to play its awesome my friend let me try it :) im a drummer and we are playing this song also :)
I've played this many times, also 1st chair Euphonium. Holst was in love with the instrument. The tempo for the march was WAY too fast. I was humming my part and felt like I was trying to slow it down or fasten my seat belts to hang on! At the end there should have been a big BIG rallentando. But it was nice to hear it again, anyway.
Fabulous job. I'm a trumpet nerd so the only thing I wish that could have been fuller is the trumpet solo in the first movement at pick ups to D. It sounded nice, but I was expecting a more full sound. This gave me an idea on how everything fits together. Especially the 37 measure rest in the 3rd movement lol. Great job. Keep up the hard work.(I'm playing this and the solo at All Mid-state honor band in Tennessee)
i would love to play this song again for our concert band. we did this my first year in high school. i mean we didn't do to bad cincidering how hard it was for us, but i wish we couldn't have played the triplets better

You played this in 6th grade? No way in hell.
I would love to see a 6th grader hold out a Bb twice over the staff on the picc.
I would love to see a 6th grader hold out a C over the staff on a trumpet.
I would love to see a 6th grader play those 16th-note runs on an oboe with a beautiful tone.
I would love to see a 6th grader in general that cares enough to actually play dynamics, let alone an entire band.
if you truly did play it as a 6th grader, it probably sucked.
