  • hoho! that's a great ending on this one! Kortlander could really strut when he wanted to! I always thought the QRS rolls from 1915-1925 were the best ones they ever did.

    Kortlander's fill-ins are so melodic! I guess they ought to be, given the sheer number of melodic tunes that he played.

  • Yeah... it is a great HOSE ! Many downplay Max's rolls, but there are some great ones in that time frame (especially some great 2 handed ones) that in their own way, rival the best of Wendling, or even Johnson (sorry) in their own unique way. It is all in the style you prefer, but I think there was some basic relative talent there one can see in a those pianusts and complosers of that era.
