  • LOL, it's a fema train. Hee Hee.

  • That belongs to the Black River and Western Railroad. It's being turned into a museum car at their station in Ringoes.

  • looks like an old baggage car

  • Your breathing is making me breath heavily in the inside just like you.

  • Any idea what railroad this car originally belonged to ?

  • Its NOT a train! Its a baggage car! Please correct your mistake.

  • you should try to go into the rail car

  • It looks like an old Pullman Heavy Weight Baggage Car. Any railroad rolling stock is a treasure to see on a old RR abandoned right of way.

  • Is anything visible from route 29? I've made many trips north from Lambertville and have seen the canal, but no RR remnants except for a couple grown-over spurs going off into fenced-off areas across the road. There's an interesting old mill along the way. Wonder if the RR once served it!

  • Sweet! New Home

  • HEY STOP SMOKING X-)

  • go inside the main car

  • i know i should be a bit scared you never know what you find inside those rail cars.

  • @charlieb640 seems like it would

  • @charlieb640 thanks

  • @charlieb640 Oh Ok

  • Don't ya just love the Black River and Western for leaving rail equipment to rust and rot? I believe this rail equipment was supposed to be restored for a Railroad Musuem in Phillipsburg that never happened

  • are you scared?? sounds like you are

  • nah, it's just that the camera that I had at the time had a weird vibe to it.

  • @livardo i live 2 houses away from the canal they always drain so my friends and i go in and care for the animals.

  • in lamberville theres a abondonded schl and theres a train 2 creepy

  • where is it is it in delaware i want to take a picture with my son in front of it

  • interesting there are 3 Abandoned coal trucks (rail cars) on a old track near the train station in boloton

  • what was that noise at the begining

  • ugh that shit was creepy i never wanted to walk on the toe path because of it

  • Whenever I go up to Lambertville, which is frequently, I always go down these back roads and see this car. It seems to have a fresh coat of graffiti every week. I also found a cluster of old railroad cars further down on the road. I haven't climbed up into it. It's wobbly as it is. :) But, it's nice to see.

  • I wonder if anyone has ever tried to get inside the car since it's been abandoned, I can only imagine how creepy it would be.

  • One wonders how cars like this got forgotten and left behind when the lines were abandoned. What a strange sight.

  • the darth-vader-meets-blair-witch-project breathing directly into the microphone added something. i'm not sure what, but something.

  • I did a music video with one of those cars. You might get a kick out of it, those cars have been there since I was a kid. The video turned out really well. Check it out!

  • Continued

The old rail beds ran from north of Milford to Trenton, generally paralelling the canal or river the whole way down. Some parts of the tracks have been lost, but if you follow the tow path you find find more cars.

  • Hrmm... I wonder if some of these things will show up on Google Earth.. I'll have to take a look!

  • the tree cover may not show them , tell us if they do!

  • I work for the state park system, and have to maintain the property by the old rail car. the rail bed used to run paralell to the river. It's still owned by Conrail, and the only things that haunts the abandon cars are crack heads and the occasional vagrant. They aren't secluded, since they're close to the heavily used tow path, a boat club and boat launch, sewage plant, and storage sheds.

  • Thanks for your comment. Are there more of these cars laying about along the canal? I've only made it up to where this one is, and just south of Lambertville. I also took video of the ones in New Hope.

  • There might be. It's been a while since I've been back there. In your videeo it looks like your on the conrail access road. If you turn into the parking lot for the Lambertville Station, then follow the gravel road (When it splits stay to the right it's less bumpy)straight back to the parking area by the bathroom you can park and walk down the tow path. If you want more info on trains look up D and R Canal

  • @Ladymayhem01 i once saw like 7 conrail SD-42s in the woods and i tried firing one up and it worked. the other 6 worked too but cylinders were stuffed. got brand new ones of them. i use them still. i fired the one with graffiti on it and it still worked. i put it on my test track and it ran like hell. so i kept them all

  • who would I get in touch with if I wanted to work with the park system and do you only maintain property in lambertville or all over NJ?

  • conrail got bought by norfolk southern and CSX in 1999 swo now that car is owned by CSX or NS

  • I wonder what kind of ghosts haunt these trains....

  • That's not a train. It's a railcar.

  • my god the way you make those noises and breath.. is this where u take ur victims ?!?

  • shhhhhhhhhhh

  • go in it

  • what was that at the beginning it sounded like a fart

  • It's a sound my camera makes if I press the button too fast.

  • lol thats good

  • wonder what the hell it was doing way out there

  • There's another one about a mile south of this one that's in similar shape. I have video of it if you want to check it out ("another abandoned train")

  • kk thanks just really weird any thing that looks like track might have been there at one point?

  • all i can tell you is it's own by the BR&W they tend to keep most of there equipment in Ringos NJ but that baggage car (witch i never knew was there) a passenger car (i think a P70 but i olny got a glance at it) and a hopper car is kept in Lambertville (probably to be never used again)

  • heh lots of abandoned cars locos & rails back east little hard to find out here in the West

  • does it start up?

  • it's an RPO: a passenger car

  • does it start?

  • that an old mail car, clesetory roofed. amazing how it could be forgotten on an old siding like that.

  • A home for the homeless.

  • Wow !!! That was so exciting. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Love that noise at the beginning. Keep up the great work !!!

  • oh, I figured out what noise you are referring to. That's a noise my camera makes when I press the button too fast.

  • Wats that noies at the beginning?

  • It's just distortion caused by the fact that my camera is really not that great.. I'm going to get another one sometime soon.

  • Ok thanks!

  • Agreed!

    Awesome find.

Do these tracks connect to the new hope tracks where you shot your other video of the other set of abandoned cars?

  • The train in this video was on the Lambertville side of the Delaware, just off the canal. The other video that I have is on the New Hope side. Right at the same "altitude" though. If you like trains, it's really cool to come along it.

  • Looks like a PC car

  • Wow... great find!!

Would be amazing if they fixed it up

    and got it running again!!

    Twilight Myst

  • thats a diamond in the ruff. Is it still there??

  • Yea, it should still be there. Looked like it had been there for a while. To get there, search out the "River Horse Brewing Company", keep on walking past it until you come along the canal. Should not be too far from there.

  • I added another video of other trains I found not too far from there
