True, Sheikh Mujib had the best interests of BD in mind, but the poor manner in which his policies were implemented, the famine of 1974, inflation, etc. led to a lot of unrest in a young country. Zia seized the opportunity and came to power. This is exactly what happened with Mossdegh in Iran. The CIA only seized upon an already failing situation to oust the Iranian leader out of power. That said, I am not justifying Zia's action. He indeed set a precedent for political ruthlessness in BD.
