I always watch TankSpots video's to find out the Strategy of a boss. I've been a raid leader since Pre-BC including Naxxramas40 Man. These videos has always been helpful when I found out about them in Burning Crusade.
@Wikksschwans tanks use dodge sets for this fight... our main tank had 38k health buffed for this fight but also about 86% dodge/parry/block so they hardly ever get hit

Such a hard fight. My guild got to it last week and we put in 1 attempt to just kind of get a feel for it. We got to phase 2 barely and the raid was soon wiped after. Can't wait to put time into learning/downing the boss.
Our guild actually only uses 2 tanks for the heroic 25 Anubis encounter. We use 2 hunters for mds and 2 rogues glyphed for improved tricks of the trade for the other 2 adds. Our 1 off tank tanks all 4 add. This allows us to only use 1 permafrost during the tanking Anubis phase. We found this strategy to work for us much better and easier then other strategies.

Bad info on the Shadow Priests. I keep my group up alone. Imp VE is enough to keep your group up with full DoTs ticking on the boss, but I just put VE up on two of the adds in phase 3, so I can keep full DoTs on boss, and Mind Sear all the adds. I'm constantly at about 50% like this, and my group is in no danger of dying.
This is NOT ciderhelms guild eventide is not currently raiding as much anymore, and ciderhelm basically kinda quit wow for a while to work on tankspot etc.
OK...Nevermind. I just read that Ensidia, almost 3 weeks ago, cleared ToGC25 without a single death at any point during the raid.... Not "wipe". They did it without anyone dying.... at all.... period.... How the hell do you do ToGC25 Faction Champs and keep everyone alive? Jiminy Cricket, these people are sick.
The guild I'm in isn't nearly as progressed as some. And my realm only has one guild on the entire realm that has successfully completed a single encounter in 25ToGC. My holy pally just recently broke 2800 GS. So, I can't speak from experience, but in 10ToGC, the easiest encounters for us are- Beasts, Jaraxx, Twins, Champs, and then Anub. Anyone that can repeatedly clear ToGC without any wipes.... is impressive to me!
You see at the very end of the video that one person in the raid gets his achievement for clearing 25ToGC, but not only that, he/she also gets Tribute to Insanity, meaning Ciderhelm's guild cleared the entire place with less than 5 wipes..... That's ridiculous. Unlucky crits happen, lag happens, DC's happen, human error happens..... Basically one-shotting ToGC25?? That just doesn't happen!! Your guild is very good. I wanna be like you when I grow up.
Wow... I thought insanity was "at least 45 attempts remaining". Clearing the entire place without a single wipe..... blows my mind that a guild could do that consistantly.
if you tanked in BC you would remember "uncrushable", where you would not take crushing blows from bosses; the difference is you had to have 102.4% then because ?? raid bosses are always max + 3 levels, the adds are level 82 so only need 101.6% avoid + block
they want to aim for that percentage of combined dodge, parry, and block on the two offtanks so they're either taking reduced damage, or no damage at all
The unit frames are oUF and this particular oUF setup is called oUF_Tukz which is a part of Tukz' UI package you see in the video called Tukui. Both are on wowinterface

Do you know what I love about the new raids? I only like to do each raid once or twice. I get a piece or two of gear on every run, then I don't run it again. But when the new patch comes out I can get gear from the new heroic to gear up for the next raid, rather than mindlessly grinding previous raids to gear for the current one. Great job blizz, and to all those hardcore people who like farming raids to get top level gear, you got the heroic raids, isn't that good enough?
And, no, a warrior in a BiS block/avoidance set takes very very very small amounts of melee damage on this fight. They are almost invincible up until p3. The buff the burrowers get increases their attack speed only, not how much damage they do.
YEAH. IN THE FACE OF ALL those ppl saying that warriors are not good tanks any more....like i tell ppl who ask if warrior tanks a still good. i tell them that some of best guild in the world still use warrior tanks for end game raid
man after listening to all your stuff it makes me glad i stoped raiding and went to pvp lot easier to just kill someone then to rem to do this and that.
If you're passively unhittable, and have at least 3k block rating, the burrowers don't do any damage at all. The first guild on our server to do it used a single tank. After stacking his block rating and value, he had 32k health tanking all 4, wasn't an issue :)
Except 3k block value (not rating, rating goes into % chance to block) is not possible passively anymore with the cap. 34.5 x 80 = 2760. That's the new block value cap and while it is close to 3k the burrowers would still do dmg. You are forgetting that when they are close to each other their damage increases. So even 3k block value they would be taking considerable damage with 4 burrowers on them.
Actually, 34.5 * 80 is where block value stops increasing Shield Slam damage due to diminishing returns. It's possible to outblock the damage the adds do, but not passively (use shield block and you can) since they increased the base damage the adds do. The damage the burrowers do isn't based on spider frenzy, it's based on the weakness debuff on their target. However, Spider Frenzy increases attack speed by 100% per additional burrower nearby, and that's the real killer.
Shield Block even with 4p T9 has at least a 30 secs cooldown and only 10 secs of uptime. So a warrior will not be able to maintain any form of passive block value high enough to mitigate all damage.
voce1489, that "cap" applies to shield slam damage only. There is no cap for how much damage you can block from an attack. Do some research before trying to sound like you know what you're talking about. :o

Faction champions, if executed well, is the easiest encounter in this entire raid, closely followed by Northrend Beasts.
I'd worry more about Twin Val'Kyr or Anub'Arak when it comes to single deaths.

This really only works if you have a paladin or a warrior. Otherwise the debuff stacks too fast.

im pretty sure any group doing this will have a warrior or a pally, generally a bad idea to not have one.

If you're passively unhittable, and have at least 3k block rating, the burrowers don't do any damage at all. The first guild on our server to do it used a single tank. After stacking his block rating and value, he had 32k health tanking all 4, wasn't an issue :)

Except 3k block value (not rating, rating goes into % chance to block) is not possible passively anymore with the cap. 34.5 x 80 = 2760. That's the new block value cap and while it is close to 3k the burrowers would still do dmg. You are forgetting that when they are close to each other their damage increases. So even 3k block value they would be taking considerable damage with 4 burrowers on them.

Actually, 34.5 * 80 is where block value stops increasing Shield Slam damage due to diminishing returns. It's possible to outblock the damage the adds do, but not passively (use shield block and you can) since they increased the base damage the adds do. The damage the burrowers do isn't based on spider frenzy, it's based on the weakness debuff on their target. However, Spider Frenzy increases attack speed by 100% per additional burrower nearby, and that's the real killer.

Shield Block even with 4p T9 has at least a 30 secs cooldown and only 10 secs of uptime. So a warrior will not be able to maintain any form of passive block value high enough to mitigate all damage.

voce1489, that "cap" applies to shield slam damage only. There is no cap for how much damage you can block from an attack. Do some research before trying to sound like you know what you're talking about. :o
