  • SO freaking BAAAAAD!! He delivers the lines like a pile of crap, NO feeling what so ever.... gaaah >.<

  • Now he sounds like some vaguely British guy. I liked the older voice.

  • @Nonamearisto Not British. New Zealand. That's where Temuera Morrison is from.

  • He should've imitated the old voice actor a lot more. He seems to take a lot out of it. Especially the, what if he doesn't survive? Line

  • Lucas you bas**** you just have to keep F****** with the movies everytime a new tech comes out dont ya. Thanks for b******izing star wars

  • DONT FUCK WITH BOBA FETT !

  • Why did Boba Fett have to end up being Australian? WTF?

  • @keerkhor Actually Temuera Morrison is from New Zealand

  • But, seriously.Think what you think, but I say this: I am a huge Star Wars-fan but I actually think this change was better. I mean c'mon, how COULD Boba Fett have a different voice from Jango? His clone!!! Makes only sense, and Temuera Morrison's badass voice fits there so perfectly.

  • @RevanMarek79 i think the same, except that boba fett's previous voice in these scenes really sounded like jango fett too, besides they were better performed

  • i guess you don't fully understand the story :P

  • really, you people need to learn to appreciate a good saga. YOU are the ones fucking with it by not accepting the changes put in place to ensure continuity. dipshits.

  • Boba is truly Jango's "son".

A lot of people say they like the old voice better.

Honestly this is a change I can live with,

Same thing can be said about the altered Darth Vader-Emperor Palpatine dialogue in the 2004 DVD.

When I 1st got the sequel trilogy on DVD, I was surprised by many of the changes.

I didn't care for that whistle like Krayt Dragon call from A New Hope.

Adding Naboo to the end celebration sequence & replacing Sebastian Shaw with Hayden Christensen? I'm not sure.

  • i like the change

  • Terrible and not indimidating in the least. :(

  • Boba Fett is not a clone, he is a bounty hunter with a mysterious past and a cool outfit who turned out to be pretty incompetent and wound up as sarlac poop. Please stop retconning him.

  • @TheBoochaka preeeetty sure he is an unaltered clone.

  • @TheBoochaka

Seems you know a whole lot about Boba, from the empty bottom of your mind. Asshole, read before you post.

  • the change that i don't get is christian haydensen in the last scene... how come he is not old? he should be like older than luke... but i think he looks younger as a ghost.

  • @graigsmith

That was pretty stupid. I prefered the old guy before. Can't Lucus just put the damn movie on blu-ray without fucking with it?

  • @graigsmith The idea is that it shows Anakin as he was when he was a Jedi. It was a terrible decision though and completely ruins what was once a great ending scene.

  • @graigsmith he is how he was before turning to the dark side :P

  • It's a change that didn't need to be made, but it makes more sense.

  • I like the change

  • Same voice, yes. Same accent? Not necessarily. The old voice was similar enough, anyway. It's not a change I mind, but I would rather have had George change other things.

  • that change never should of been made, although Boba is a clone of Jango so yeah

  • Maybe it's just me, but shouldn't Boba have the same voice as Jango? Considering he is a clone...

  • You call that a knoife?

  • @cyraxtherobot His accent is from NZ from Australia.

  • alright, for all you guys whining about the changes heres something to think about:

quit ranting about the prequels. sure, the guy who played anakin was a terrible actor. but all those people asked, so they got what they wanted.

and for the changes, maybe lucas wanted to change HIS movies. sure, greedo shooting a wall with his gun pointed directly at han is kinda stupid, but if you don't like the changes, go buy the original movies.

if you don't like the prequels, don't watch them.

  • @HAMcorp I wish I could buy the original movies, but Lucas has burned all the copies and, I'm afraid, the master.

  • @Jadefg I got all three VHS from '77, '80 and '83. Copied them to DVD. How much you willing to pay? :D

  • @Jadefg Man the Fuck up

  • @HAMcorp They're not HIS movies. They're OUR movies. WE the fans made them what they are and George Lucas who he is. Damn you Lucas!

  • @cyraxtherobot

And this is where most fans are wrong. Sure fans put him where he's at today. But they are his movies. Hell, if he wanted to he can use the scene where vader and the emperor are talking about the rebels on endor and in the back you would be able to see him taking a crap and reading a newspaper.

  • @HAMcorp The guy who played Anikan wasn't a terrible actor, even Tom Hanks wouldn't have been able to read those lines.

  • Boooo. I hated this. Completely unnecessary.

  • I guess some are idoits plain and simple

  • Yuck.

  • Temuera Morrison is Star Wars.

  • Boba's old voice is much better in my opinion. Just because he's a clone of Jango doesn't mean he can't have his own identity, separate from the rest of the clones. The more sinister voice of Jason Wingreen proves it.

  • @GameStation3 plus, just because he is a clone, doesn't mean he'll have the same accent. He's been roaming the galaxy for 20 odd years after his dad died... surely he would have picked up a different accent or two along the way?

  • @bbcthomas

He wasn't exactly the most social guy.

  • old voice 100 times better. star wars in general was better before the prequels killed the mystery of Boba Fett and turned him into a lame clone of a Jango Fett. Lucas knew putting in a boba fett clone (jango) into the prequels would make him mucho bucks, but its such an unoriginal and uninspired cop out it makes me cringe. Prequels are not canon in my mind, just the delusions of an old man well past his prime as a story teller.

  • Oh, come on! Sure, Temuera's take on Boba Fett isn't all that great. But you have to take into consideration that Boba is Jango's clone if you go by the entire series, prequels and all.

God, you people are so unnecessarily melodramatic about things like this. >:(

  • @darthvalor07

I agree; a human can be as bad-ass as any alien.

Look at Obi-wan, Darth Vader, Palpatine and Mace Windu.

What do you want under that helmet-- Yoda?

My impression would be that he never takes his helmet off, because his face got scarred up from bounty-hunting that he looks like Dog LOL

  • Which one is better?

The old voice . . . SUCKS ASS!!!!

It makes him sound slow like Darth Vader, at least Temuera's voice makes him sound more agile, like a Crocodile Dundee kind of warrior.

And the old voice makes us feel we don't know the man underneeth; he could be a droid for all we know . . .

At lease the new voice says "Hey, we don't need to see Boba's face afterall. The fact he's a clone mixed with his father's voice says he looks just like his father."

  • @JediDanD

    I AGREE.

It seems that some people are just addicted to first impressions vs. objectivity; i.e. if the original Boba Fett was voiced by Richard Simmons, then they'd say that was better too, saying "oh, the original voice was feminine and sinister" etc.

    Original isn't always best.

  • @SovereignStatesman Yeah, and we learn more that Boba Fett isn't as cold hearted as we originally think. He's a bounty hunter because of his love for his father. And when he blown up that core to the Star Destroyer, he could have killed that Clone, but he stunted him instead. Finally when Aurra Sing told Boba to kill the Clone during the recording message to Mace Windu, Boba hold back and Aurra had to kill the Clone instead.

Yeah, original just doesn't work best all the time.

  • @SovereignStatesman *comment continue, adding more to the "original isn't always best" part*

I was born 12/23/87 (so you know my age), and while a lot of older people hate the Greedo thing, it was love at first site when I saw that change, because I love new footage that shows more that happens, so I saw that as an added bonus.

Personally I don't think it takes away from Han, because he was gonna kill Greedo anyway, I see it as something hilarious that adds to Greedo's stupidity, lol.

  • @JediDanD

It DOES take away from Han, because

    1) he'd have to be an IDIOT to LET Greedo shoot first, and

    2) That's because there' s no way that Greedo could possibly MISS from that distance.

So that's just the most retarded change of any film-- just to make Han look like a "good guy," but it just makes him look STUPID. Also, most people don't WANT Han to be a goody-goody.

  • @SovereignStatesman

Well I don't many I've talked to don't think it takes away from Han. Han's not a Jedi, so it's not like he could have sensed or stopped Greedo from shooting, and if Han was gonna kill Greedo right then and there anyway, what does it matter? As many have stated, shooting first don't mean shit if you miss, and what Han does proves how bad-ass he is, our character is not determined by what someone else does.

Of course Greedo can miss, people tend to screw up when anxious.

  • @JediDanD

Get a clue, Greedo had his gun out and pointed right at Han from 3 feet away, and he was an experienced assassin. Han wouldn't look like much of a bad-ass if Greedo is a dumbass like Jar-Jar. He's only a badass if he can keep his cool and blow away someone who's a serious THREAT.

You're just another of those who latches onto first impressions, and then you've got your story so you're stickin' to it.

  • @SovereignStatesman Why don't you get a clue; George Lucas is in charge, so what he says goes, just because you see something one way doesn't make it the only right way, as there's multiple ways to see and do things.

I'm not one of those "latchies", I just simple like added footage in movies, and I just loved that when I saw it. And Han's a badass because he didn't hesitate to kill a dumbass. Many have the honor not to do that, as where Han's like "I don't care, you die anyway".

  • Comment removed

  • @SovereignStatesman *comment continue*

Because, just because Greedo shot first, that doesn't weaken Han. Do you think Vader is less of a badass cause Han fired before Vader could pull the gun away?

Just because things are one way originally doesn’t mean it works completely. Many of us excepted that change right away. *Looking at what this video is about* I suppose you’re also one of those people who bitch off about Boba Fett’s improved voice just because you love the original voice Boba had.

  • Not only is he a shit actor, but he's a shit voice actor too. Who would've guessed?!

  • @Zebonka Your crazy if you think his voice sucks.

  • I absolutely LOVEEEEE when he says "Put Captain Solo in the cargo hold." :D

  • "As you wish" sounded alright, "He's no good to me dead" sounded bad, "What if he doesn't survive? He's worth a lot to me" sounded awful, and "Put Captain Solo in the cargo hold" sounded alright. This change didn't bother me too much but it overall doesn't sound good. I would much rather have the original voice. It's much more bad ass and mysterious. Temuera Morrison is only good as Jango and the clones and it's like he didn't try on this.

  • Borrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiinnnnnnnngggggg!! I love the classic voice!!

  • eh i know mr morrison can do a better job than that he sounds more threating in empire at war than here

  • George Lucas owns the rights to these movies so he's going to continue to tinker them if he feels the need to do so.

  • Jesus, all the original trilogy fan-boys are like fucking conservatives so afraid of change.

  • Yeah, I actually don't mind this one all that much, It's still Jeremy Bulloch in the costume, And Tem Tem has an awesome voice anyway

  • I honestly don't mind this change all that much. People are going to jump all over me, but the voice change isn't THAT noticeable, and it sounds like they did the rerecording with Jango Fett's actor, which actually makes more sense now with the inclusion of the prequel trilogy. I always thought Jango was pretty badass anyway, so I don't mind too much.

  • shite

  • this change makes complete sense

i hated the original voice anyway

  • Not much difference.

  • I understand this change. If Boba was a clone of Jango, and all of the other clones sounded just like Jango, then Boba should logically sound like Jango as well. This is one of the only Lucasisms that I actually approve of.

  • @grungzer I agree.

  • this is just awful... this is not boba fett

  • Okay, now, I can SORTA see what Lucas was going for here. He was trying to keep with continuity and so he had the actor re-record these lines. But in the defense of the original, let's say Boba is older and his voice is aged. This voice still sounds too young.

when 2017 rolls by, Lucas should re-release the unaltered Star Wars trilogy for Blu-Ray instead of dashing our childhood memories against the rocks.

  • There were three key things that made Boba Fett badass: his skills, his look, and his voice.

    Now there are only two.

  • I love his new voice.

  • @surrender127 I used to love his new voice, but now pierdoli mnie if he's got the Wingreen voice or the Morrison voice.

  • I can understand that for continuity's sake, the voice was changed... But for the sake of these movies being the classics that they are, I think fans would prefer that it be left alone. I like some of the improvements, as some were needed. But any scene that didn't need to be touched, shouldn't have been. I didn't watch, but I hear the scene between Han Solo and Greedo was "embellished" on...WHY LUCAS, WHY!?

  • @claytongues because the imperial army used new clones and then eventually diversified between episodes 3 and 4

  • its not the fact they changed it that bothers me its how crappy its delivered. seems rushed and no feeling behind it

  • Call me crazy but this is one change I didn't mind.

  • @S1deshowRobP5 I don't mind it too much either, I prefer the old voice but this is one continuity change that at least makes sense. I just wish the way he said "he's worth a lot to me" wasn't so oddly spoke "He's-worth a-lot to-me" and "As you wish" sounds too much like it's in a "sir, yes sir" attitude rather than a "fine, whatever" attitude like the original.

  • @GalickGun777 Nah, the new voice just plain sucks lol. No need to sugarcoat it. The original Boba Fett had a menace to his voice. The new one sounds like he's reading cue cards in a high school play.

  • Boba Fetts voice in the original was good, even the way he talks to Darth Vader there is a hint of defiance, when he says he is no good to me dead!!, which no other character talks to Darth Vader like that, this scene is ruined now

  • sorry but a new zealand accent sounds shit

  • Why has Boba fett gone all saff africaan

  • @hobitshouse

It's a New Zealand accent based on that Kiwi actor who played his dad, Jango.

  • @Nineteen1900Hundred its the same actor

  • @hobitshouse

    I know.

  • There is nothing wrong with this. Stop being babies.

  • THe thing is, the new voice DIDNT ACT, he just read the lines, ok done. The original voice EMOTED and sounded badass. Ugh, wtf.

  • @Pwells1 exactly, completely emotionless read, pure garbage. the other voice had an intangible GRIT to it!

  • @kyntandvyxsin The line when he says "He's worth a lot to me" is said very poorly in this. I used to like how th e old bobba fett voice said that line. It sounds like this new guy is just reading the lines like it was the newspaper. He obviously didn't listen to the original

  • @Pwells1 I wouldn't have as huge a problem as I do with Temuera Morisson's voice here if he actually "spoke" the lines instead of simply "reading" them if you get what I mean.

  • @Pwells1 Yes, he sounds like he's reading the lines. That's the first thing I thought when I heard him

  • Hold up. Why dont they give all the storm troopers this voice?

  • A British Boba Fett! Cool!

  • @LisaSpringfield He's from New Zealand, of Maori decent, he sounds nothing like an English person.

Why do so many Americans think Australians and New Zealanders sound English?

  • @ojideagu Well, he said "dead" and "cah" (car) like a Brit. They drop their Rs, so do Brits and they say "DEEEED". Americans say "dead".

  • @LisaSpringfield I'm English, English comes from England. We pronounce Rs correctly, we do not drop them. Americans are the ones who over stress their Rs.

Also no English accents say "Deeed" or "Cah" like Bobba Fett. New Zealanders and Australians do, not English people.

  • @ojideagu OK, my mistake about cah and deed.

But most Brits do drop their R's - whereas the will say here like hiya, better like betta. Source: Harry Potter.

  • @LisaSpringfield There are about 100 accents in Britain, they all sound different, there is no universal way British people speak. Scottish and Welsh people sound totally different to English.

You imagine most Brits drop the R, because Americans over emphasise the R. But usually

British people are saying R. A specific type of working class London accent can Drops T's and sometimes R's, this is a cockney type accent so they can sound more like they are saying BEH-A instead of Better.

  • @LisaSpringfield Harry Potter is generalising for the American audience about London accents. A few accents can drop T's and a few can drop R's depending on the word, but it's far from every accent.

Plenty of strong English accents heavily say R. Listen to stereotypical British Pirates and Farmers "ARRR me Hearties" that accent is based on English people from certain areas like Bristol and Devon, heavily exaggerated. The stereotypical accents heavily emphasise R.

  • @LisaSpringfield Ironic you should say that, because the English West Country accent (an accent where the "R" is emphasised) is where Americans get their accents from.

  • @ojideagu No, most midlanders and northern english say "ded" not "deed" and "Carh" not KAA

  • @LisaSpringfield No, most midlanders and northern english say "ded" not "deed" and "Carh" not KAA

  • @LisaSpringfield As others have said, he's a New Zealander, not English or even British.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if they made a movie about Boba Fett considering his popularity.... Boba Fett Chronicles or something catchy and BAM! the whiny fanboys shut up for a few years.

  • It might have been pointless changing it, but it's not 'ruined'.

  • Put Ciptin Solo in the carbon hold ay bro

  • @mrtea180 It's actually the "Cargo Bay" but let's not split hairs lol

  • @ojideagu are you trolling? he says "cargo hold"

  • @mrtea180 You said "Carbon hold" in a previous post. I meant to say it's cargo hold.

  • @mrtea180 Although you could have been imitating the guys accent saying carbon hold?

  • I thought maybe they should have kept the original voice from the old films and have them explain why his voice is so different than Jango's and my idea was that Boba had his throat slit in one of his past missions and survived so now he has a raspy voice. Is that a cool idea?

  • I actually like both versions. My complaint with this one is that his tone is not as menacing as the old version. But when watching the films in one evening, this version makes everything fit better. What can I say? I'm a geek but not a purist. There are things in the 2004 version I don't like, and there are things I like.

  • I just watched this movie for the first time in a long while, and taking in everything going on, including other sounds in the Boba Fett scenes, the voice is just fine. While I do understand why people don't like the new recording, if we were to finetooth comb either voice, there are shortcomings to be found for both. But, as I said, when watching the DVD, I find and hear no problem with it.

  • 0:09 - "He"s new good t'me did"

    lol!

  • well he is a jango fett clone so it makes since why he has his voice

  • Looks like 50 people are maces son as well......

  • Maybe its because Im from New Zealand or maybe because im a big fan of Temuera Morrison but I live his voice doing this.

  • This one isn't as good, but c'mon, it's not THAT bad.

  • @AnimeSpellweaver I agree. And watching the movie on DVD, with everything else going on, it sounds just just fine.

  • I have nothing against the voice actor, but stay with oyur clone troopers, dont replace an awesome voice

  • 84 likes to 44 dislikes, hmm blasphemy anyone? LOL, oh yeah this video has 50,000 too many views and sadly I just contributed to it but of course the video ONLY played, the volume is down as I refuse to hear this nonsense ! !

  • this is blasphemy

  • i love this version

  • GOERGE LUCAS IS A FREAK

  • is it just me or his voice sounded more cooler in the old school version

  • @liampunkrock99 its sounds better in the pre 2004 versions -_-

  • @jediking12 yeah

  • Which was great at the time but it doesn't fit now that Boba's origin has been established in both AOTC and the Expanded Universe (animation, video games). Had Boba been portrayed as a heartless, blood thirsty assassin then Windgreen's voice should've been kept but that isn't the case. In fact, the only person in the series that he's ever truly wanted to kill without pay is Mace Windu out of revenge for Jango's death. Anyway, my preference is my own opinion, I'm not here to change anyone else's.

  • As a fan of Star Wars as a whole, I prefer Temuera Morrison, as Boba Fett is neither good or evil, just a bounty hunter out for his money. I like Morrison better simply because he actually makes Boba sound concerned for his pay, particularly with the "He's not good to me dead." and the "What if he doesn't survive? He's worth a lot to me." lines whereas Jason Wingreen delivered the lines in a stereotypical "Listen to my sinister, villainish voice, I'm sooooo badass!" style.

  • Sounds fucking retarded.

  • I like the rerecording better

  • @JJBE are you nuts?! This is terrible and it's so offensive to fans of boba fett and to all star wears fans. In the original trilogy, Boba Fett is a mysterious dangerous villain- we don't know his background and it's left a total mystery filled with intrigue but in the prequels he's just a clone, one of millions of clones- Boba Fett is just a clone trooper? The new voice is awful and it has ruined Boba Fetts' character completely because it has taken away his mysteriousness and uniqueness

  • @elcap22 Thats your own problem. Boba Fett is a clone of Jango Fett, therefore he is GOING to sound like Jango Fett when he's older. If you were a REAL Boba Fett fan, you would know this, but it seems you're more along the lines of a nostalgic star wars fan who can't handle change well. Temura did fine, and by adding this voice over, connects the prequels with its sequels.

  • @JJBE Accents are not genetic. If you are away from speakers of an accent for long enough, you'll lose it. Both are fine and I like them a lot, but it makes sense either way.

  • This sounds like Temuera got a script, they pushed him in front of a microphone, and he fired away. This is the only change in the DVDs that I absolutely hate.

  • Your opinions are wrong! O_o

  • Man the new voice over sounds so much less.... Sinister..

  • i'd make a better voice-over holding a microphone when i take a shit .... fuck GL

  • I really don't understand the fuss about the new one. Yea, it's not the original, but things change and you HAVE to know that. The back story makes sense so I like the fact they re-recorded his voice.

  • This is rather 50/50 for me.

On one hand, I like how Lucas made another attempt at connecting the two trilogies together. It really makes the viewing experience of both more fun in the connections.

On the other hand, the fact that this voice was in our minds for so long made it almost a sin to hear it changed. There could've been some in-universe explanation like "His helmet gives him a different voice" or "his vocal cords got scarred" or something along those lines.

  • So why was Fett's voice changed?

  • @tetrisclock cos temuera morrison was the clone trooperrs....and boba is a clone of jango.

  • comparing the two, i love the original. morrison still has that icy edge to it, but not the "western clint eastwood" feel. i wonder what jeremy bulloch thought about this....

  • You guys are really bitchin over just 4 lines?

  • better

  • New Zealand Fett for the win!

  • Once again George Lucas proves he is the master at the art of ruining things. There was NOTHING wrong with the original trilogy, and ever since he first started fucking with it, it's been destroyed, just like the shit he gave us called the "prequels" that totally sucked.

  • @LivinWorstNightmare "George Lucas proves he is the master at the art of ruining things"

Yeah. He should try to improve "Attack of the Clones". The originals were fine.

He should replace Hayden Christensen with Carrot Top or something.

  • @OptimisticCynic715

Lucas will never admit all the flaws in the prequels cause it was just a cash in. He already showed us how much he considers his fans by raping the original trilogy with shitty CGI and altering scenes.

You didn't see James Cameron 20 years after the first Terminator go back and animate some dumb ass effects in the movie to make it "better" cause he knew it was already a masterpiece.

  • @LivinWorstNightmare But the third prequel made up for it.

  • @TheScorpionMK37

The 3rd prequel sucked just as much as the first two.

  • What gives them the right to replace the original voice? ><

  • Oh man, he didn't....

  • Why the hell did they replace his voice in the first place?! Arrghhhh!

  • SHIT, BOLLOCKS, WANK, COCK PISS ,FUCKING SHIT ! FUCK YOU GEORGE LUCAS YOU RUINED THE ORIGINAL STAR WARS TRILOGY. SHOVE YOUR PREQUEL TRILOGY ( ITS FUCKING AWFUL ) AND YOUR SPECIAL EDITIONS.LONG LIVE THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY .

  • Fuck you George Lucas, you don't understand Star Wars, leave it alone.

  • the new voice is dead, bland, and characterless compared to the old one. but i suppose that is how hollywood works nowadays.

  • SidorakKing YOU ARE RIGHT

  • Why re record?

  • This is the voice of the true Boba Fett!

  • let me guess, some stereotypical-old-disney-movie-pirate-wanna-be sounds better than this...

"much to learn you still have"

  • @bookworm1138 The tone and sound of the old one just sounded better. This sounds more passive and like he's reading from a script.

  • fucking christ

boba fett was my idol growing up

his voice was just so fucking coool

    and now

    FUCK

and im australian so it pisses me off having to hear my former idol with a FUCKING NEW ZEALAND ACCENT
