Did no one pay attention to Chad Marsoleks work in the ealier part of the episode? being scared lowers your accuracy when recalling a memory though when the fearful memory is recalled confidence goes up- big owl+dark+getting scared+multiple unknowns+ over confidence and lack of accuarcy when recalling memory = mothman

you know, with the whole mistake in perception thing...these people will have seen local animals, such as owls etc, many many times, and will know what those look like.

One more thing to point out, Nickel has an interest in stage magic which makes a direct use of making objects appear different than they are. It is very true some of what he says about how someone can misjudge heights and differences, but I think he's adding to this by deliberately positioning these pieces so that they would be misjudged. I get that feeling because of the mischevious grin he's making plus a few other details.

i think the only reason that i dont watch monster quest as much, is because they dont geta anywhere, it just gives u the facts, now i no that it is hard to get evidence, but its not worth tv.

That was really cool. I am surprized that people are so bad at judging size. Insects are pipsqueaks, but they can really scare some people. I wonder if someone would seariously mistake a tiny moth for a huge mothman. Mothman could be an owl or crane too. It is interesting that the sighting continue. I wonder of there is a whole race of mothmen. Then they can have mothwomen. Thier young can be larvea-like. They would be called catergirls and pillerboys.

you know, this might sound like a fake story i'm making up but i swear it isnt. I dreamed that this moth creature was in my room, and it looked just like everyone says it does, big, red-eyes, massive wings. It just looked at me but i didnt feel scared just interested. The next day while i was out walking, some crazy driver missed running me over by like an inch, this thing is real and i think it saved my life, so i'm a believer to be sure.

Ive seen a crane or a stork (couldnt see it exactly because it was dark) one night landing on a field about 80 to 100 feet away. First I couldnt figure out what it was and thought it was about double the size it really was after looking a little closer and realizing the distance. But then again, I didnt panic after seeing the bird landing and Ive also seen owls at night (in the air and in trees) while I was driving, so why should the witnesses mistake that for a mothman?Dont think it was owls..

pople know what they saw when u see something flying by ur car window and it looks 8 feet long clearly its going to be 8ft long not 2 to 4 feet long...i should be a freaking monster hunter...its not that hard

They got to see three images. The witnesses just got confused. A bit different if one creature is flying next to your car for a few seconds.

at the end the narrator usually says. "This monsterquest expedition made an interesting discovery" or something else. It never says, "The Monsterquest Team has found the creature!"

The mothman does not flap its wings, and it does not look much like a man beyond its bipedal stance. They eyes are much bigger, and it doesn't have much of a head.
