I started using a pc during the ibm-xt compatible era, using msdos ver 1. So for almost 30 years I was a pc enthuiast - changing os as each new version came out. Then, I discovered the mac computer & was totally blown away with its elegance, simplicity, trouble free operation, no blue screens,excellent engineering, virus-free operation, design for creative artists & I will never in life buy another pc. Hats off to steve jobs & the macintosh line of computers. Unbeatable.

I have a Mac, it runs faster, quieter and cleaner than any PC I've ever had. I'm a freelance video editor and learned on FCP so I bought a Mac. It also lets me use almost any keyboard, headset or hard drive without needing drivers, understand almost any video and audio format without needing codecs, almost never crashes (and if it does it actually tells me why) and just FEELS better. Is someone going to give me a valid, legit reason to get rid of my Mac and buy a PC? Didn't think so...

@anarchotrent well, if you spend the same amount of money you spend on a mac on a pc. you could get a pc with better hardware. i agree that Apples does look better and they pack stuff better than a PC but for me, that's just not worth spending 40-50% of extra cash on.

@mario91551 they have the option if you are a student, then you can get the student version Free for 3 years. You just gotta join the student community with autodesk. afterwards you can choose which programs you want to have on your computer. students.autodesk.com

@007s00s No, because it's SO incompatible with good software, it's radically overpriced (which isn't a problem for some people) and it isn't a competent computer. It's for people who want some sort of status symbol, or who simply don't know shit about computers. It's the technological equivalent to wearing fake diamonds.

Does autodesk also have masking tools? Does autodesk have the same problem that most software have such as always exporting clips to other software? To color correct do you have to go to autodesk lustre? I guess I'm trying to find software where you can do editing, mixing, masking, tracking in one software. Is there such a software?

@gambitrocks unfortunately I don't that kind of software exist I think. It would be awesome because if you had to color correct a project (for example) and is not necessary to export it so that it can be processed by another software, thet it wouldn't lose quality...but by now, editing, compositing and color correction are different things

@gambitrocks Avid's DS Nitris fits the bill. It's expensive, but it really does do it all from soup-to-nuts. I can cut, mix, embed effects, roto, color correct, etc. without leaving the app.
