@iowa8disasterpiece Yes, you can download music to the Pantech Breakout. The Breakout is an Android phone, and you can do anything on the Breakout that you can do on any other Android phone, including listening to music, watching videos, playing games, etc.
I have a question I hope is answered soon. Do you need to have a SIM card for the phone to activate? Or can it just work off of how all the other phones have worked before?
@wirefly i have the galaxy ace wat do u think of it and wat are the best t mobile phones that arent so expensive cause i live in germany so prices are in euro and no rim i hate blackberry
@camcamoo7 Sorry, I'm not familiar with the Galaxy Ace. T-Mobile has lots of excellent phones: HTC Amaze, HTC Sensation, HTC myTouch 4G Slide, and soon the Samsung Galaxy S II... just to name a few. I can't give you the price in euros, and you couldn't buy any of these from Wirefly, anyway. Wirefly sells only in the US.
@elfgirl20 There are different plans with different prices. You should call Wirefly at 800-552-9000 and ask about the plan costs. Or just visit a Verizon store and ask.
@FushionFlamez Right now, the Breakout is free at Wirefly with a new Verizon account. It's actually a pretty decent phone, and free makes it an excellent value.
Always check the price on Wirefly before you decide to get this or any phone. Prices change all the time and the Breakout's price might be different in a couple of weeks.
@RoboticDude The SIM is required for LTE operation. No SIM and the Breakout (or any other LTE phone) will not work. The LTE SIM is not swappable with a GSM SIM used by AT&T and T-Mobile... it is unique to Verizon at the moment.
FWIW, Nextel phones also have a SIM that is unique to Nextel. Without the SIM, the phone won't work except for an emergency (911) call.
@andyrvc05 I'm actually thinking of doing a Schmackdown between the Breakout (Verizon) and the Motorola Triumph (Sprint/Virgin Mobile). I thought that would be a way to sort of review two phones at once.
@kickadams8908ass I wish I could have gone. I asked about a couple events like that, but it just doesn't work for us. Fortunately, the manufacturers and carriers keep us informed... I got to see the HTC Rhyme a couple weeks ago. The Samsung Hercules is on my desk at the moment.
@Patrick730 The ThunderBolt is decidedly faster and has a bigger display, when compared to a Breakout. The Breakout will be much less expensive. Can you afford the higher-performance phone, or is cost savings important?
@vargusalex Yes, saying a specific price is confusing, because prices change all the time. For the same reason, I don't want to mention a price here, because it can easily change in two weeks. However, think of the price you'd like to see for a 4G phone... there's a good chance the Breakout will be that price. Really.
Does this phone come with a SIM card? If it does not where should i get one for the cheapest price?
metalgsolid20 1 month ago
@metalgsolid20 If you get the Pantech Breakout from Wirefly, it will come with the LTE SIM card. I can't speak for any other source for the phone.

@jbdl071508 You need an LTE SIM to activate the Pantech Breakout. It will not allow you to get to the main Android screen without an LTE SIM.

@wirefly But if it doesn't have the LTE SIM, will everything on the phone still work, without texting, or calling, or web?
jbdl071508 4 months ago
@jbdl071508 Nothing on the phone will work without the LTE SIM. You won't be able to get to the main Android screen without the LTE SIM.
