  • @pengeamount ,, maybe they are playing the dance of the "grape"...

  • Fisk is very good but he has always tried to be a rebel or a rock star of classical guitar hehehe I saw him in Dallas years ago doing Paganini and as he turned the page on the music he would toss it way up in the air what a show :)

  • terrible... fisk is incredibly fast but i never enjoy seeing nor hearin him play

  • A rather pedestrian performance, I must admit

  • i need thes parts

  • Y qué hace el gran maestro con Fisk???

  • Ángel Romero el Maestro de Maestros

  • In this case I find unfair to accuse Fisk being "not in time" because Romero is playing the theme and therefore requires a very loose phrasing. Are dances cannot be played with freedom when there is no dancer ? I like this version, very sensitive.

PS: I'm not a huge fan of Mr Fisk's style...not at all

  • Yes, they can. It is very difficult to let classical guitar, maybe other strings also, can be followed rhythm perfectly. They are not Flamenco players.

  • Music is about interpretation, so why not? Is it really killing all of you? Let it be... Let it be. Let it be... "O" let it be..

  • @jibbidywopdo nah this sucks

  • Guitarfest Producer: "Maestro Romero, would you like to perform Granados' SD #5 with Eliot Fisk?"

Angel Romero: "With Eliot Fisk? You mean, like, in the audience?"

  • @smoothie66 Bwahahahahahaha!!!

  • This is a perfect example of one person playing guitar and the other playing music.

  • Spot on!

  • I am confused. In the end how much freedom of expression has one guitarist over the song he performs? Is he obligated to follow some written on unwritten rules? Is he supposed to stick to the "book" or to add a little bit? There is a lot of conversation over this and i am really curious about that. I only recently started to play the guitar and these details (that determine so many things in the end it seems )bugs me.

  • Fisk ruins everything he touches.

  • @djseo1 I don't think so

  • @djseo1

you're right -- he's the Inspector Clousseau of guitar

  • @what567 I guess it's you who is retarded not Mr.Romero's vibrato. He's not The Angel Romero that evryone knows if he had this retarded vibrato that you are talking about. You have a serious hearing defect.

  • Any reason for the la estrada (platform)?

  • @aaronlcguitar

    I think it's tacky.

  • angel

  • What the hell is so wrong with Fisk and his "timing" here? Actually listen to what is going on and not what you think you should be hearing .... the phrases match up just fine, especially for a live one off performance. And, of course Angel is and has always been the fuckin man. He's the only guitarist thus far to ever make the Rossinian sound like the kick ass pieces they actually are.

  • I feel sorry for Romero here, it must be so hard to stay in time with Fisk, he's rhythms are all over the place. Playing about with rhythm is ok some of the time, but this is a dance so i don't think they should be taking so many liberties.

  • None can play guitar with Fisk without being pulled by him.

  • @pengeaumont270508 I think they were together...you must go see the doctor to check you ears

  • Angel Romero's guitar sounds sooo much more powerful that Eliot Fisk's. I'm never impressed with Fisk's ability to project or to produce a full sound.

  • I don't know why people talk shit about Eliot Fisk he's better than almost all of you. Sure he has bad tone production, but still, so do a lot of guitarist.

  • I agree.

  • @supermanalexk Romero has the Melody so he is playing louder , but in general Elliot seems to have poor tone, but none the less-- both virtuosos and masters of the instrument.

  • @supermanalexk great rhythm, phrasing et al is ruined by bad tone production. He can produce beautiful tones, I have heard it many times, but he doesn't. Lazy?

  • this is pure butchery

  • You're referring to your comment I take it.

  • The Granados version, and I mean played by Enrique Granados, is pretty much with rubatos all the time especially the theme.. he recorded himself on those old piano recorders..

  • Although this performance by Fisk and Romero does sound quite euphonious, I personally believe that Danza no. 5 is better played as a solo piece rather than a duo.

  • ha que fisk sigue metiendose sus churros antes de cada recital, q son esos rasgueos es una danza clasica española no flamenco mi estimadisimo, no opaques la hermosa melodia q lleva romero.. saludos

  • There reading it as they go i think this is an amazing preformance myself

  • the reading is probably just to keep them on the right measure, im sure they practiced it many times before. No one sight reads during a performance otherwise they are a fool.

  • They sound very nice actually. Both first-rate guitarrists. Angel really has a most beautiful and punchy tone. And Eliot is most expressive.
