  • Wow! That's good! Now that's what I call Rush. k2p

  • rush!!

  • AWESOME! BEST BAND IN THE WORLD

  • hell yea!

  • Pure genious!

  • Damn... this song is insanely awesome, and if you listen really carefully, you can feel how great Peart's performance is.

  • "Sometimes the traffic is too great, or the bridge is too weak,

What should have been our crossing is now a fast and tragic fall.

No one gets to their workplace without a fight."

  • nice a band that cut their hair and DID'NT loose their talent in the process...(no not a bash at Metallica..still love them but they will never be what they used to be) but Rush continues after 30+ years to constantly be the ROCK legends that god has given us...God has 3 seats reserved next to him for these 3 in the future...ROCK ON RUSH

  • I play this tune every morning driving to work on a frantic highway. I sometimes like to change the words to fit my enviorment.

"Confused commutes of terror and fright, blood is drained of color, by the flashes of the ambulance lights. No one gets to their workplace without a fight. Travel plans are blown at the sight of construction zones."

  • that's not normal!

  • holy crap dude :D

  • Damn, man. That would even make Peart himself proud!

  • That is genius.

  • Thanks, how's this?

    TOM MALLRAT: (Part 1)

The 80's Tom Mallrat got high on his games,

he would stand as the victor, or go down in flames.

    He would play his Asteriods,

until his ships were all destroyed,

    he got really quite annoyed,

    so he finds another toy,

    Defender!

  • TOM MALLRAT (Part 2)

And what you said about his Centipede,

is what You said about his self-esteem.

Plays his Tempest, plays his Tron.

    Wages battle, then moves on.

His world was his world was,

    dull and quite a bore.

Unless he had got, high score.

  • That's some good stuff right there. That would make Weird Al Yankovic say "Hmm. This Jacktheripoff's got something going here."

  • Check this out.

    "Driving in the fast lane,

    the universal thrill

for those whose tanks are filled

    Those who wish to cruise

must move aside for the speeding nation

get on with the day's attrition

    the lanes changing

    the underlying theme."

  • nice

  • Rush still is and will always be one among the best :)

    and so damn good live

  • I like this album much more than vapor tails. I only liked 4 tracks off that album. this one has like 7 really good songs on it. This is a ggod one. Love the production of it.

  • meh i like rush and snakes and arrows is decent but i truthfully think this was one of the bad songs on it =/. the music is good. vocals are decent. but it just doesn't seem to go together at least for me.

  • Then why are you commenting on it if you dislike it????

  • i think they should change their tour dates on their website so you know where theyr going to

  • this is the best band ever my dad has all their cd's they rock!

  • The lyrics tell it all

  • Wow, old men but rock'n'roll at purest

  • probably the best Rush song EVER!

  • rush old as shit but best fucking 3man band in the world

  • lol i'll listen to 1800s music even =p. Beethoven symphanies and stuff are cool to learn like yngwie malmsteen said he used to listen to those people and it gave him his own unique sound on the guitar.. by listening to (not other guitarists to learn) different instruments like piano and violin etc. He formed his styles from those instruments. But yeah, as long as the music is for the sake of music like rush and not for fame, the music will live forever no matter how old. Legends never die.

  • i saw them in june last year. they were amazing!!!!

  • RUSH IS FUKING AMAZING. LONG LIVE RUSH. this song has the best drum line in the beggining. love playing on my drums :D

  • Is to freaking hard for me

    >_>

  • This is the best song on the album!

The bass line at the beginning is the greatest thing about this song.

is it just me or is Geddy's voice starting to sound a lot less squeaky

  • Definantly.

Sounds a hell of a lot better now then, lets say twenty years ago.

  • Rush never ceases to amaze me.

These guys have been around for 35 years and they still put out music that blows the younger guys away.

You have to think these guys are in their mid 50s and even their senior citizen efforts LOL have more heart, more talent, more soul, more meaning then 85% of the younger rock groups these days.

Unbelievable! just goes to show what has happened to rock music and the lazy slouches that have been invited into the scene in the last 10-15 years. Hail Rush!

  • You know you only need to say this once to make your point rather than putting the same comment on EVERY song from this album. Completely agreed though, brilliant band, brilliant album. May they carry on for years to come.

  • St. Paul MN, May of 2008 AMAZING!!!!!!

  • Anyone notice the drum beat in this song is very similar to the one in Mercy, Mercy, Mercy by Buddy Rich? Check out Dave Weckl's version on here and you will see.

  • Well, I guess that would be called an influence. I just bought this album and haven't yet listened to it, not really sure why I start looking it up on youtube first.

  • I saw them at Indianapolis this year it was their final show on their Snakes and arrows tour. It was an awesome experience

  • Saw them in St. Paul, MN last year and Red Rocks Amphitheater this summer. Excellent show!

  • I saw them here in Dallas last April. Best 3 1/2 hours of my whole life!

  • I saw rush in Toronto at the Molson Ampitheatre, on July 9th. The concert was amazing!

  • I went to tht concert to and tht was the coolest concert iv ever been to. They got a 4.5/5.

  • i've been a rush fan since '84, and a critical one. i honestly think that this is one of their best songs. EVER.

  • i saw them on there first concert in Atlanta last year

  • i caught them 4 weeks ago at nissan pavilion...sick show

  • i saw them in concert an im 11!!!

  • ur fucking lucky. i am 12 and i have never gone to concert let alone a rush concert !

  • sometimes the spirit is too strong or the flesh is too weak...what should have been our armour becomes a sharp and angry sword

  • Can anyone post these without the vocals. I was the biggest rush fan for so long but Geddy's melodys do nothing for me these days. I like the instrumentals though.

  • I SAW THEM IN CONCERT AND IM 13!!! ( im so lucky )...it was AMAZING

  • yea lucky u lol

  • I hope they're going on tour again within the next two years cause i missed them in sweden last time.

Would be a dream to see them

  • this song is 1000x better with headphones..

  • if u r a rush fan chek out my page

  • they rock!!!!!!!

  • i saw them 2 nights ago in hershey they were amazing

  • that was a killer show. i almost caught the last shirt that Alex threw out to the crowd.

  • I went to see them at the Tweeter Center on June 15th and they were amazing! I am going to see them again today, July 11th, at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester. It's going to be great!

  • I saw these guys last night in Toronto and heard this amazing song for the first time.. and I guarantee it won't be the last :)

  • The great thing about music (especially rush) is that many people can take a song or a line and interpret it a million DIFFERENT ways.

  • Rush is amazing. They have carried me from my youth into adulthood. Everytime I listen to them I discover new wisdom and solace. Thanks, Neil. Thanks, God (for giving us Neil)

  • I watched them about 2 months ago I was the happiest person on earth after the concert

  • im seeing this concert today at summerfest

    im so pumped

  • Who cares what religion they are, they make music now can we stop arguing, i dont think that is what this is about. The snakes and arows a child is Eier to could be the probles we live behind for the next gereation.

  • summerfistfunk cosmic lifter diogenes' lamp

  • Just saw Snakes And Arrows, it is really an amazing tour, it was the best show I have ever seen. I don't know what could top it, seeing the best band ever on an awesome stage with great effects and lighting, with a great crowd.

  • Im gonna see them in St Louis on the 27th. Cant wait!! I have seen them in the mid 70's, 5 times in Kansas City. But now I know it will be an advanced, amazing show. Plus this time I will have a clear head :-P

  • Just heard this song for the first time today....at the United Center in Chicago! Am wearing the Snakes and Arrows tour shirt right now. Snakes and Arrows rule!!

  • im seeing rush on this tour on june 30th and i cant wait.

  • have fun

  • i saw them live

9 and a half min drum solo

    35 songs

    4 encores

  • We hold on, to armor and sword.

  • The highesthippie, your name suits you right, because Neil Peart is NOT a jazz drummer - at all actually. Jazz Drummer? Buddy Rich, no questions asked. Rock Drummer? Neil Peart definitely, but lets not mix up our genres here.

  • NO!!! neil peart IS a jazz drummer. he isnt in a jazz band but he does plenty of jazz. there are plenty of his jazz solos here on youtube.

  • he did start out as a jazz drummer

  • you dont know what your talking about, neil peart started out as a jazz drummer before he joined rush thats why at the end of the rythm method it gets all jazzy cause neil likes to play jazz but rush is a rock band not a jazz combo. you can hear the jazz influence in alot of his beats

  • oh for sure. but i started out on flute, but im a sax player. doesnt make me a floutist :) although im sure Neil can do whatever genre he wants wonderfully.

  • k, well i can agree on that

  • why does everyone insist on creating a huge religous discussion on a RUSH video, the comments should be about RUSH.

By the way, Rush is awesome!

  • Neil Pert is not the "best drummer"(If there is such a title). He might be the best at the style he plays(prbably). But seriously, look at Chad Smith, he is a great funk drummer. Cindy Blackman is a great jazz drummer. You just can't say someone is the best drummer.

  • but neil peart is a jazz drummer so he's at least the best rock and jazz drummer ever

    p.s. RUSH ROCKS!!!!

  • Yea I pretty much consider to be the best drummer period..

  • FUCK YOU!!!! RUSH IS AWSOME! i was at there concert last week. they blew my mind.

  • This is an awsome song if you no brains knew who the drumer is...he is the best drummer in the world. So all you people who say this is a dumb song the I think you skould listen to the drums ONLY and then post a comment saying this is dumb...I garentee that you will change your mine.

  • sos you fucking prick stop posting all taht fucking bullshit preach shit

  • What's your problem candyass?

  • Bow to the here and now o'children of the Agnostics!

  • Agnostic? It's a fact of History. For over 2000 years zelits have been blabbing the end is near and Christians will be carried off in the rapture Blah Blah Blah ! How does this apply to American Indians or peoples of Asia or whoever wasent born in the Holy land during the time of the old and new testement? Why did'nt God reveal his existence to them I'snt he everywhere does he not care abot their souls Wasent the Bible written for all of Man or will they go to hell with murderers and rapests

  • Stop phyco babbling, you sound like an f'in idiot! Read the bible, read the bible, read the bible. Stop believing all the bullshit that the college professors are telling you guys.

  • Man who started all this Bible thumping crap bottom line all religion has ever done is devide people why would an all mighty God leave his word(The Bible)open for so many different interpitations come on Penicostal,Baptist,Catholic,Mormons,Church of Christ,Methodist, it all ends up in Division that is all it seems to be consistant at.not to mention all the Rape,Murder,Child obduction,Mothers killing their children Why would an all mighty God allow these things to continue

  • its being religious xd...thats enough to divide entire nations...fanatism leads to corruption (Medieval age...) and in the end all we do is SIN...if god actually existed...he would choose our fates according to the laws of determinism...yet he forbids us from doing "bad" things...yet we still do...Soooo in the end having Faith is more like a big fat lie established by influential powers like the Church...and still... its A church driven by humans. In Summary... believing sucks. waste of time

  • As far as Mr. Peart, I do believe he is finally searching the scriptures. Historically he has taken several shots at christianity. As I have said previously, I believe Mr. Peart is the greatest skeptic of the 21st century. Why has he decided to take on this role, I am not sure, but I will say it's a rather dangerous position to assume. The god of the Bible will one day make him answer for he deeds. Furthermore, as for you, I would like to offer a sign of peace. It's been fun. Later!

  • i would say im the biggest skeptic and there are millions like us. we beleive and proof as of which we have gotten none. if your is so almighty let him strike us all down at once. if there is a god i dont think he cares much about what we think or do. AND STOP FUCKIN PREACHING!!!!

  • Wait a minute! You can preach your bullshit, but I can't preach mine.

that's exactly what's wrong with you radical little fort knockers. As for God, He will deal with you in due time. Prepare yourself to answer to the Almighty! Not me!

  • This isn't a video....bummer !

  • The Church of the Agnostics

    preacher: Neil Peart

Join today thou good and faithless servants!

  • This is my least favorite song from this album- and i like it! Thats how awesome this album was.

  • You will see why I am a christian. The wars and the rumors of wars, Jihad and the attempt to rule mankind through the religion of islam is a real threat to both of us. i have said this to you prevoiusly in another debate we had. My suggestion to you is to be prepared and also to become versed in certain religions so to understand what is going on in that day that I described earlier. lastly, Mohammad came on the scene 700 years after christ. some jewish scholars created the quran, oddly enough.

  • Again, thats just describing the differences...thats not answering "WHY" you "CHOOSE" one over the other...just because you "think" one is more true? What makes you think such a thing? Both have an equal lack of evidence and reasoning used to prove it, so it makes no point to pick one over the other, except an arbitrary flip of the coin.

  • There are many similarities in the two faiths, but this is the underlying difference. Muslims do not believe in the diety of Jesus. They do not believe in the virgin birth or his ressurection from the dead. As I said previously, they are waiting for the return of Jesus Christ. An event that they claim will usher in their Messiah. my friend this is where it gets interesting. In the final days of this age this event is surely going to take place. Keep your eyes fixed on the Middle East.

  • Let us give the definition of (faith). 1. confidence or trust in a person or thing.

Using this definition it is easy for one to assume that you have faith in agnosticism, due to the fact that you have expressed enormous confidence and trust in your belief.

To answer your question as to my being a christian and not a muslim or mohammadan, is as follows: Muslims/Mohammadans happen to believe that Jesus is a prophet. They also believe in creationism, They also believe that Jesus will return.

  • Also, with your reasoning of calling Agnosticism a "faith", everything we know to be true is then "faith." In that idea, there is nothing that is true, and anything is possible...which means we all just happen to be here, and we just all flip a coin and decide what we believe in, and there is absolutely no other reason to believe anything over another because everything could be a lie. No real point in believing in ANYTHING then, now is there? That, my friend, is the philosophy of destruction.

  • Continued, Belief in something is a matter of freewill or election. For me election is the force behind my belief in christianity. For others it's a matter of freewill. both of which are God appointed. I must say, thank God for freewill and election! So, now that I have layed the foundation of my belief, let me continue by saying that I am a firm believer in intelligent design/God the creator. Through creation and His word, God has given mankind the answers to prove His existance.

  • And to the claim that Agnosticism is a faith, it is absolutely no such thing. Exactly what "faith" do agnostics have? This makes no sense. The definition of agnosticism contradicts your baseless claim. My understanding that I do not know the truth concerning the origin of the universe constitutes no "faith." And Chrsitianity IS a religion. Now, you still avoid the question directly: WHY are you a Christian, and not a Muslim? "How" has God proven either or for you?

  • All you e-philosopher types shut up and pay attention... 5/1/08 is here! Rush live in Phx! I am fucking there! I'll be just soaking up the greatness of Rush while many of you quiblle on YT. Hopefully, everyone on here knows Rush rules, man! RUSH!!!!!

  • Tell us about the show in Phx. I would like to share some thoughts about the tour venues.

  • The Church of the Agnostics

    Preacher: Neil Peart

    Agnosticism is truly a religion!

  • Except for the fact that it isnt a religion...Religious people arbitrarily pick some random belief and then live their lives by these baseless ideas, and claims that they are true when the religious people actually have no idea whether its true, they just make these ideas up to comfort themselves because of some "solice" they seek. Agnostics understand that we dont know the truth, and dont lie to ourselves about what it is just to comfort ourselves because of some fear of the unknown.

  • Revelation 1:13 In the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

    1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

1:15 and his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword.

  • imo this record is the best theyve done in years..its brilliant..the religious theme has been an obsession of neils for a while and he has questioned faith in past songs like roll the bones etc but his message remained universal until the song faithless in which the lyrics become ponderously preachy and frankly ruin a great song and at the same time condemning i would guess the majority of rush fans who would at least have some sort of beilef system..

  • run-on sentences are fun, aren't they? =D

  • Rush for life

  • Im a big rush fan since the 80s and im going to see them tomorrow in ft lauderdale but honestly i dont know about this album its sounds a bit (whats the word )...la di da ..where is the jaming??? but i still love them

  • A comfort or a promised reward, for mohammadans this means multiple virgins in heaven, achieved by jihad or holy war against the infadel. That includes non believers of thier religion and also includes atheist and agnostics. thier mission is to control the entire world through thier religion. So please do not include christians with that group. Any religion that denies a God given freewill, is a false religion. If you do not except christianity you or free to move on with your life.

  • Who are you to claim a religion is false? How do you KNOW a religion is false? You choose your words poorly, my friend, and such is the sword that Mr. Peart is talking about. Your words would have been more accurate had you said "I have faith that any religion that denies a God given freewill, is a false religion, but I do not know it." You dont "know" anything, you base your beliefs purely off arbitrary faith.

This is the idea that makes "Pastafarianism" equally as credible as Christianity.

  • Ok Mr. Moocowzrock, It's time to cut to the chase. do you deny the fact that jesus Christ was born approximately 2000 years ago, died on a cross and rose again into the heavens a seen by eyewitnesses. If you don't believe, then how do you establish a truth. Is it by an eye witness account or some other medium. explain your position as it relates to christ. you have been talking a lot about arbitrary faith, you seem to have faith in something, what is it?give us the answer,oh great one.enlighten us!

  • I dont know whether a man named Jesus existed, but evidence and accounts seem to agree on it so I agree that it possibly is likely. Now, the claims that he died, was born again, and rose into heaven, have absolutely no more backing than someone claiming that they saw a great spaghetti monster talking to them from the sky. Just because some couple thousand year old book "claims" it is true isnt enough for me to believe it.(continued)

  • i am cynical about religion too....but damn isn't this just a rock and roll song?

  • Haha, just being introduced to Rush? Rush puts a bit more thought into their lyrics than something to give an excuse for having a lead singer. When Peart writes the lyrics, there is an extra element within them that has a purpose. The words are not as empty as most rock songs are, and its that element that make Rush such a fuller rock band than most. People that dont much like Rush are usually those that find the songs empty because they overlook that relevant element.

  • uh no i am not just being introduced to rush, i got 'moving pictures' on cassette back in 5th grade, when i was 11, i've been a fan for 27 years! i saw them in 1982 and 1996.....i just think there's some serious over-analyzation going on here. it's amusing though.

  • Haha, my apologies, then, rock on!

But yeah, Peart is an awesome lyricist, and just about every song they write has some philosophy or idea backing it up. Look at songs like 2112, or The Trees, or Anthem, and you're seeing an idea like Objectivism leak through. Songs like Tom Sawyer, Subdivisions, Something for Nothing championing individualism and a mind and effort of one's own. Look at the Snakes and Arrows, and you see religion being considered pretty relevantly.

  • that's ok. i comment on a lot of things on here. this is just a song i didn't like much initially but it has grown on me.

  • Yeah, this whole album has grown one me...its turned into my third favorite album behind 2112 and Moving Pictures...I finally got my copy in the mail yesterday too!

  • Again, there is no reason for you to pick Christianity than Islam, Hinduism, or any other religion. Your choice is completely arbitrary, based on whatever you "like" to believe or "wish" was true. Reason is the truth I live by, and so far there is nothing more Christianity has to offer up than any other religion that people "claiming" they saw God, or he "spoke" to them, etc.

Again, I dont have the answer, Neil doesnt have the answer, and you dont have the answer either.

  • Damn dudes. Lets just agree Rush is the best! Late

  • Your just being stubborn. I can't help you my friend. I tried to tell you where Mr. peart got his ammo for the song! and you just will not listen, Remember what I said about spiritual blindness. You and Mr. Peart seem to be suffering from it.

don't be spending to much time arguing with me, look into the heavens for yourself and try to find the real answers. you can call me faithful, you can call me faithful! Please do not read my words about that song, you may get angry. thanks, it's been fun!

  • We arent suffering from any blindness. We dont claim to know whats true, and we dont blindly have "faith" in any arbitrary concepts other than our own reasoning. Tell me, sir, why is it you chose Christianity over and other religion? Remember, there is nothing to back any religion up but faith. However, what makes anyone's choice any greater or more relevant than a flip of the coin? Is it simply based on your "feeling"? Is your "feeling" not different from other people's?

  • Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God:

My friend, this should explain what a true christian believes. This is why we do not like to be lump in with false relegions.

  • Except your religion is a flase religion, if any other religion is false. Your decision to believe it is absolutely arbitrary, based on your own slithful attempts to satisfy your own fears, to create your own armor. Yet in doing so, and in the arrogance you portrayed here by arbitrarily adding higher value to your religion over others, you have turned that armor into a sword, into a weapon that causes pain rather than achieves solice. That is what this song is saying.(continued)

  • Just because out of a many hundreds of pages book you found a quote that happened to have "sword" and "armor" in it does not mean that this song is attempting to glorify or consider that quote in any manner, especially since the actual content of the song AND album goes against it completely. Stop picking and choosing what parts you like and dont like. You cant just cut up the song like that and create your own meaning to falsely support your irrational beliefs.

  • this is pretty heavy 4 rush, yet it rocks so much

  • No, my friend, the fighting is all about deception. And it seems that this deception is growing day by day, only exasperating the problem.

  • Look at the world around you-All of this fighting over religion.

  • Continued, The point i am trying to make is Mr.Neil can no longer rely on the arrogance of his former youth. a real decision must be made. will it be a future of enternal light or some promise unknown. this song is full of biblical connotations. Which prove that even the so-called faithless and the greatest skeptic of the 21st century seem to reading and listening to the word of God.

  • Wow, way to completely distort the point of the song to fit your ideology...You're like the socialists that try and make "The Trees" out to be a song criticizing the oppressive oaks...the only thing worse than blindness is distorted vision.

  • No, the only thing worse than distorted vision is spiritual blindness. Come on my friend let's gone down to the real point. How can a professing aethist give any reference to any heaven. another thing, pick up the bible read a little before you ever tempt to question my opinion. it seems that your friend Mr. Peart has been reading the scripture only to use it to his decieving advantage. furthurmore spend some time giving us your interpretation of the lyrics Sir. Moocowsrock.

  • Again, you're picking and choosing words from the song and assuming it means he's going through some spiritual confusion/consideration, but he is doing no such thing. The entire album, is essentially a criticism of the irrationality and arbitrary nature of religion today. Peart is no atheist, he is an agnostic. He doesnt claim to know what is true, but he certainly will not blindly follow a religion, or allow some personal desire for "armor" to turn into the "sword" it has for religions today.

  • Let me explain. Ephesians 6 11-17

Put on the whole armor of God, the ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we (christians) wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God.that ye may be able to stand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Continued above.

  • And now what would you say if instead of referencing the Bible, Peart referenced a popular work of fiction, or a fairy tale? Would you still make the point that he is "reading [work] only to use it to his decieving advantage"?

  • OK, whatifitsnot, you have successfully painted yourself into a corner! Let's say your right and christianity is a religion. Using your definition, one can assume that agnosticism is a religion because most agnostics express enormous faith in thier belief I.E., evolution. What about you, whatifitsnot, what about your faith and belief in evolution. will you confess that evolution is only a theory, not proven science. I know what I believe. Are you sure what you believe? Can you proove it?

  • One can't prove a negative (that god doesn't exist) but one can prove that Rush rock.

    Ergo... Rush >>> god.

  • Do you believe id the devil?

    Do you believe in evolution?

    Answer YES or NO!

  • YES, but RUSH are like Gods...

  • Isn't this song interesting! a professing aethist echoing a parlllel phrase of the Apostle Paul. No one gets to their heaven without a fight. sounds very similar to the words of Paul. "I have fought the good fight of faith. I have finished my course".

  • That doesn't sound similar at all, actually.

I wouldn't be surprised if Peart has read the Bible. Plenty of atheists have. You can almost certainly read it as a work of fiction. The 'biblical connotations' of this song are entirely critical. I don't think Neil is changing his tune.

  • He may not change his tune anytime soon, but in the end he will. For the Apostle Paul has written, That every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. (Songofwyrd) go to page 2 and read the words of christianity that relate to the armor and sword. Judge for yourself, don't be fooled by the faithless/hopeless message of Mr. Peart.

  • I'm well familiar with the words of Christianity, having attended Catholic schools for the first twelve years of my educational career, and while the words you mention use a similar metaphor, they do not monopolize the idea.

Neil Peart's 'faithless' message is a lot more socially relevant than an absentee parent sky bully.

  • I must admit, you definitely have a big set of cahunna's, using that type of verbage against the God of the universe. Peace brother, let's smoke a peace pipe together some day. We will sit down and try to find a little common ground between us.

  • I understandably, if he exists, won't hold it against him if he smites me for it, though I'd certainly question his inactivity over the past millenia, because we could probably use a little hands on guidance.

    I'm a skeptic deist.

  • Stick around with me for a while, Perhaps I can help you see the truth. this is a very sincere gesture. I am not being sarcastic in any form. I can since your intellectual side. we should spend a little time discussing these pertinent matters my friend. peace from sos 1001001. Thanks.

  • And you know this how? Because some book tells you its true? Why is it, again, that you choose to believe Christianity over any other religion, such as Hinduism or Judaism, etc? Is it some feeling within you? If thats the case, Are you truly willing to go out and claim that all other "feelings" people have with their own religions are false, and only yours is a true feeling? All for no reason...It looks as if that armor you have created for yourself is turning into a sword at that point...

  • Not you again! Mr. moocowzrock please can you say anything different, you sound like a skipping record. Arbitrary,Arbitrary, Arbitrary, Arbitrary,Arbitrary. Please, your just as brain washed as the rest of us, the only difference between us is that you fail to believe it. Your believe is a religion, It's the new age religion of the day and your a preacher of the agnostic doctrine just like your friend Mr. Peart. believe it or not, you are a child of the new age doctrine of the faithless.:-)

  • Can you please not rely on ad hominem attacks? They do nothing for the discussion and domore to point out that you really cant prove your point without using them, which is bad for what you are saying.

Also, I use "arbitrary" so often because it is the key word which describes someone's choice to have a belief. It makes no sense why someone chooses to pick one "faith" over another...Thus, my question to you which you dont want to answer.

  • Now, you call my acceptance of a lack of belief based on a further acceptance of my ignorance on the matter a religion, why? Are you trying to refer to the belief as some new "cult" concept? In that case, you can probably call followers of Peart cultists, but that does nothing to discredit Agnosticism. Otherwise, trying to refer to it as a "religion" makes as little sense as calling a Buddhism a "science," except worse because Agnosticism is the exact opposite of religion.

  • OK! We are beginning to find some common ground. 1. The followers of Peart are cultist. 2. Agnosticism is not a religion.

    3. Chritianity is not a religion,it is a doctine of faith and belief in Jesus as the promised Messiah and the Son of God.4. Arbitrary believe in agnosticism is a faith.

having said that,I will try to answer your question as to why I choose one faith over another. Firstly, only one faith can be correct at this time. whether you believe that or not!

  • Wrong, while every following has their crazies, to claim that those that like what Peart says in his songs are cultists is simply a baseless ad hominem attack, and if you're going to resort to insults, then it says wonders about the strength of your argument. Again, I'm not using insults, or desperate attaempts to discredit your beliefs by attacking the followers of a belief(because I know you know that does nothing to prove the idea wrong)to prove my point, so please refrain from doing the same.

  • "Christianity is not a religion"

    Wow, just wow.

  • what if it is, whatifitsnot!

  • Then your previous comment is therefore humorous in that you say "Christianity is not a religion". According to Wikipedia a religion is a set of beliefs and practices, often centered upon specific supernatural and moral claims about reality, the cosmos, and human nature, and often codified as prayer, ritual, and religious law. I feel that Christianity fits that definition. Also, the only "leap of faith" that agnostics take is that they believe neither Christianity nor God is the absolute truth.

  • Just shut up, people will believe what they want so SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP. Neils wife and daugter died in the same year and the band almost broke up he is probly still feeling the pain and writing about will help with it. SO JUST FREAKIN SHUT UP
