Free inexhaustible energy is real! But the Establishment doesn't want ppl to know this,Go to LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM and get the blueprints for a genuine magnet motor ,Let the revolution begin!
Seriously, the whole Tyrannosaur sequence is cinematic perfection. Never mind that a real Rex wouldn't have thumped around like that if it *ever* hunted at all (why give away your position?)- not to mention that a large bull elephant can weigh 5 or 6 tons, not much less than a 7 ton Rex, and they are nearly silent when they walk. This, in the theaters, was the single coolest experience I've ever had at the movies. Remember it to this day.
Now what kind of predator would T-Rex have been if he made so much noise all the time? His prey would have heard him coming from a mile away and run for cover. Why didn't it make this same noise later in the film?
I don't like this cheap effect, it scares the kids, but it diminishes the realistic tone that was originally set when they first came to the park. The T-Rex eating the lawyer is also a cheap shot at the lawyers who hound all film makers, and did nothing to move the story along.
@Bullettube Mate, the T-Rex was a scavenger that used its size and power to fight off and scare off predators. It didn't hunt prey itself unless it was forced to.
It had no use for subtlety and so the noise it made wouldn't have been a problem. It would have been more of a benefit as it could be used to scare off competition even before the T-Rex arrived.
Id have to say T-Rex was a pretty successful hunter due to a lot of evidence based on Skeleton's of T-Rex an another Dinosaur bones, not to mention none lived long lives most barely made it past the mid 20's.
Scavenger to me makes me think of ''Vultures'' picking up scraps other animals leave behind.
T-Rex was the African Male Lion of it's time.. Lions scare off Hyena's, Cheetah's, Cougars, many other predators out there.
So yes it scavenged, but only cause it had power 2 intimidate
@XxComablackxX1937 In the late cretaceous, that would be a long life;) Depending on the species, of course. Sue, the most famed of Tyrannosaur specimens, was around 28 at the time of her death, which for a Tyrannosaur would have been pretty old, especially given the injuries many of them sustained throughout their lives. Puncture holes in the skull, broken leg, cracked ribs- they had very rough lives.
@Bullettube Actually, the death of the lawyer is important because it firmly established the power and potential of the killer t rex...and showed that the humans didn't stand a chance.
@Bullettube Exactly. Large elephants are about the same size as a T. Rex, but do they make the water in a waterhole or their drinking trough quiver while they walk around? No. Indeed, they're often suprisingly stealthy and quiet as they move-one reason they can be so dangerous. In the actual book, the T. Rex's presence is detected first by smell or sight, never sound.
@critterfreek82 You're right at that, a large bull can be pretty large (a large T-Rex is still much heavier, by 1 to 2 tons, but still), and they're nearly silent. Then again, when I think about it, Elephants are silent because of the way their feet are designed- they're walking on fleshy pads, on tip-toe, if you look at their skeletal structure, and they don't lift their legs very high. Rexy had very different foot/leg structure, but I still doubt he'd crash around and give himself away!
wen i first saw this movie i always thot how the trex was so badass he can make the water riple oh wait i forgot trex is girl anyways awsome vid thanx for puting it up
this movie changed my life. omg i was so in love with it when it first came out. its still to this day one of my fave movies of all time. this scene was soooo exciting. i love jp.
@XxComablackxX1937 Reminds me ALOT of Jaws, Steven knows how to really build the tension! Dude, when I saw this back when I was 9, as far as I am concerned this movie was the Star Wars of my generation in terms of visual and sound effects!
Anybody else get scared at this part the first time seeing this movie on the big screen? I sure as heck did! I wasn't sure what to expect at the time.
ha this reminds me of when i was little and everytime me or my sister would have a cup on the table or in the car we'd start pounding to make it ripple and be like "do u feel that?" XD this movie is awesome!
LEGENDARY.

I always loved seeing the water ripple before the T-Rex came, it was like hypeing up for something amazing which of course the T-Rex is.
I remember seeing this in theatre an getting Chill's waiting for the T-Rex to approach.
I dont think ive ever been so jaw dropped emotionally until the T-Rex broke threw the pad-lock and Roared. Just Epic
