It is a pity to read some of the comments for this video. People don't do bad things because they are black, white, yellow or ginger, they do bad things because they are humans beings, and nasty, greedy, exploititive people come in all shapes, sizes and colours. But still people point out the evils of other groups and use that as an excuse to behave the same way themselves. If you think you are truly better than others, then don't act like they do.

It is good to see the continuing efforts to put the reputation of Africans back into where they belong, counted as equals (indeed at times, rivals in history) among world's great civilisations. However, to blame Christianity in the same breath as Europeans is severely misplaced and indeed, ignorant to the history of Africa before European colonisation. Christianity IS an African religion, adopted in free will AND in droves by the people of Africa well before Europeans' arrival!

Have a look at the ancient history of Nubia (present Sudan) and Ethiopia; heck, the history of North Africa even (before the Islamic invasion) and Egypt (in some context, they are both a part of Africa). Christianity is a part of African heritage, always has been; not on the fringes but central: from the old Kings of Meroe that halted the advance of the Islamic onslaught to the last king of Ethiopia that broke the shackle of colonisation from Italy.

The Africans didn't "accept" any of it. It was forced upon them. Colonialism has had it's benefits to the continent over the decades, but at the time it was brutal, and has not failed to have long term negative effects.

when i lived in ghana, i knew lots of missionaries. i used to joke "the catholic missionaries come to africa and tell the africans the prodestants are wrong. the prodestants come and say the catholics are wrong. and the only thing the catholics and the prodestants can agree on is the africans have been wrong for thousands of years". haha, missionaries didnt like that joke. i told it often.
