  • My deejay was a very good artist, silvert!

  • This was the only good scene in this entire movie

  • RIP KEN :(

  • The gal on fiddle is totally shreddin' it

  • RIP KEN RUSSELL.

  • True folk gem in blazing fiddles style

I remember seeing the film with a friend and laughing most of the way through at the over the top nature of it- but we did get up and dance at this bit- brings back happy memories. And- Kenny- if you're reading this in Oz- thanks

  • Great vampire movie, i liked this since i was a kid. What if Edward Cullen met the snake vampiress?

  • Great song to drink and dance to. Would love to find this albulm.

  • Tune reminds me of later song "my angel is a centerfold". Is the melody popular as a jig or something somewhere?

  • That film is just unique - and, like the song, it's totally fun. Watched it again some days ago and nearly choked on my crisps... Or, weren't they worms in aspic rather?

  • I think Flogging Molly should perform this song!

  • So drink the health of Sir John, who kept the babes from harm,

Saved cows and calves by making halves of the famous D'Ampton Worm!

I love the lyric of this song! Thanks for the upload!

    Greetings from Italy ;-)

  • Brilliant!

  • awesome song and rendition. I too have been seeking it for years. thx!

  • The lyric, i was told as a child , was the River Wear, which is in Northumbria, UK, and the area from which the story originates.

  • @nwrd The River Wear is not in Northumbria, its runs through County Durham and on through Sunderland which is in the borough of Tyne and Wear.

  • @BrightIdeaStudio I think he meant "weir", a fence set up across part of a river to dam it or make a fish pond.

  • @SidneyBroadshead No he meant Wear, as in the river Wear. The Lambton Worm on which this song was based is a local legend to Sunderland and Durham in North East England. Wiki the Lambton Worm and you may be enlightened.

  • And that'll be the "Lambton" Worm too! (Whit's D'Ampton?)

  • Awesome song, and great movie too. But regarding the lyrics, I believe it's "weir". See Fishing_weir and less specifically Weir on wikipedia for more info.

  • I love this song :)

  • You have no idea how long ive looked for this song. Apparently i have brain damage for not checking youtube. thank you.

  • lol

  • I love this song! Thank you so much! :))))) "dances"

  • You're welcome.

  • ya, i saw this movie like 3 weeks ago on demand

  • u do know that the face u typed made it fat looking, right?

  • BTW, I listened to "The Lambton Worm" and it's the difference between a child's song and a song that's enjoyable for all ages.

  • I love it! Are there any other recordings of the same band? I've had a tough time trying to finding anything else.

  • Just seen this video and recognise the song as a copy of "The Lambton Worm" - A local Tale from the North East of England - Look it up and listen to the tale of "The Worm"

  • Awsome movie...it made me feel dirty though

  • I always have to come back and watch this, when my DVD isn't handy, just love this movie so much, and who can't stop jumping around when you hear this song? Still appreciate you putting this on here for us, thanks again!

  • This was a very sexy film, too. What a cast! I loved Sammi Davis and Amanda Donohoe in this and another sexy Ken Russell film, "Rainbow".

  • Yeh I always liked Sammi Davis in that film. I think she gets her tits out in Rainbow, it's a long time since I've seen it... :)

  • Just want to verify that not only does Sammi Davis put her tits on display in "The Rainbow," she puts everything else on display, too. And for those who want to see more of Amanda Donohoe naked, so does Amanda.

  • That's not The Tossers is it?

  • No, it isn't.

  • hav this song on tape somewhere class song and movie must look it out

  • thank you for this

  • LOL, I've just bought the DVD from eBay. Classic film, very funny.

  • does anyone no how to get in touch with Emelio? lost contact.

  • I think that d'ampton worm could have been a young jealous Rupert Murdoch wannabe 'Richard SHAGGY Branson'

(before he went round the world in a hot air baloon then moaned about co2 gasses)

  • Hallo, dose anybody know were i could get the song an an mp3 or an albume of the band that sings this, I HAVE WANTED IT SINCS I SAW THE MOVIE in the US in Denver as a teen in High school, was into such music and tecno form of this typ before it was in. thank for posting this man it is grate to see that i am not the only freake for such music

  • Sorry, I don't think the soundtrack was ever published for sale. You could lift the audio track from the video, I suppose...

  • How? with what program, it is only for personl use and not jest ripping, imean i will pay if i could i am no a pirate :) (lol)

    (wink wink)

    thanks for the tip

  • search the tossers they do a version of it.

  • thank you so much, have a nice day

  • @Darthwarlock69

    obscurehorror(dot)com(slash)

    DamptonWorm.mp3

  • @Darthwarlock69 Ive just got it from amazon for 79p!

  • Original song "The Lambton Worm" NOT Lampton!!

Folklore has it that Lord Lambton on his return from the crusades, slew the worm but had to kill the first living thing he saw after. He had instructed the dogs to be let out but his young son beat them to it. He didn't kill his son and now the Lambton family are cursed by his actions or lack of them. Lambton Castle (park) near Chester le Street.

  • I LOVE this song! Woo, took me forever to remember the name of the movie, lol. Thankyou soooo much!!

  • You're very welcome. Pick up the DVD, it's worth seeing the whole thing again.

  • That's so on my wish list!

  • @EdwardWeyland Damn straight it's wroth seeing again. I love this song by The Tossers - D'Ampton Worm.

I so wish this song you could buy for I'd buy it in a heart beat. :D

  • I thought the original was called lambton not lampton.

  • Definitely Lampton

  • Yep Lambton it is

  • You're right; the dementia was bad that day!!!

  • Wish they would have used to proper Geordie lyrics. Gay.

  • The Geordie lyrics would have been nice! I don't see how the lack of them is "gay" at all, though.

  • I wasn't calling them gay. Just its gay that they used different lyrics. I was actually calling them gay i would have went "they're gay" but i don't do that cause i'm gay myself, and i know what homophobia is like.

  • Would you post the lyrics you prefer? I'm interested in seeing them. Thanks.

  • They are not jordy - that's scum lingo - Wearside = Mackem - get educated!

  • I wonder why they picked D'Ampton rather than Lampton, the original.

  • i love this part

  • Love the song and the film - it's so full of hints and symbols and repeating motives. You can even see it in this short clip: the fish head at the end (and later on, pickled rainworms!).

Thanks ever for posting the lyrics with it! I got most of the song on my own, but not all.

  • Great song! I've always liked this one.

  • YEHAAAAAAAAAAW!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING THE EDWARDWEYLAND! ; ) One of the best songs, wish I could have been in this movie just for the party itself and ofcourse to meet the lovely Amanda Donahoe! Thanks again for posting, I think it came out really quite well!

  • You're very welcome! Song's almost worth the price of the DVD by itself. :)
