The (in comparison to other stargate ships) "weak" Ha'tak can survive ten hours in a sun. Also, for Star Trek, it takes forever and a half just to get around a quadrant of the galaxy. Not a problem for Stargate ships. Thusly, Stargate is far more powerful. Unless you can show me a video of a 22 or 23 century Enterprise surviving 10 hours in a sun.

I can not believe what I am reading. Comparing a rail gun to a photon or quantum torpedo? U have go to be kidding me. Does anyone realize the theoretical yield of either? Guys and dolls you are comparing a small nuclear explosion to a piece of steel maybe traveling at mach 10. A projectile from a rail gun has NO explosive factor to it. It uses velocity to cause the damage. And comparing lasers against gigawatt phasers? Do your research everyone. We all have our favs, but do your research.

@Data1701E Asgard weapons are not lasers. Their ancient, outdated ion weapons have torn Hatak's apart. A Hatak can sunbathe IN a sun and has shields in Terraton strength. Example is that Cronus unupgraded hatak spent 10 hours of being maybe 2/5s of a steller raduis to a Blue Giant, and the first 50 minutes without shields at all.

@mercenarieboy Both series have this flaw. I have been a strong fan of both and both are equally as unrealistic. After all what is more likely, a large ring with 36 symbols which are able to take you to any other similarly designed device, or a warp drive which bends space time around a ship. Both are equally unrealistic; but both are great shows.

Star Trek came out in 1966. The Stargate creators are big fans of Star Trek...thats why they often make comical refferences to the franchise.

As for the ships and technology...its obvious you know nothing of this either.

@NightwishRaven999 I just want to put this out there that Mk.9 nuke blasts are visable from orbit, no federation ship, to take words for Admiral Akbar can withstand firepower of that magnitude. Also, plasma beam lasers are extremly powerful, so they would do a lot of dammage.

Although idk what game it was and untill there is some actual crossover of some kind (lol wut?) then nothing is canon (referring to Stargate vs. Star Trek)....

In any case I would personally assume that an Asgard ship would have a better fighting chance than this :/....

Like I said in the second comment, Star Trek ships are no match for Stargate ships. They are not in the same range of power. Trek happens in the "near future".

Stargate has humans using things that dont exist (naquida) to enhance bombs and use alien tech (shields, weapons) on their ships...

Star Trek weapons are in the low megaton range...Stargate and Star Wars weapons are in the high megaton and terraton range...there is no competition.

in the battle of salamis the persians had 4,000-6,000 galleys. thats a big fleet and very powerful in those days. yet today a single nuclear submarine has enough fire power to destroy most major cities in a country. a star trek fleet vs a daedalus class refit is like taking the persians fleet in salamis and pitting them up against a modern battleship.

The Sovereign class has an incredible Phaser firing rate. Its also equipped with heavy armor and can take a beating even when shields are gone. Maneuverability is a big factor here as well. The Sovereign is easily twice as nimble as the Asgard ship. The Asgard ship also missed on many occasions...phasers on the other hand, were 100% accurate.

Yes, this is the Sovereign refit from Nemesis. The Phased plasma weapons look ridiculous and are outrageously powerful. If I use this ship, I stick to "canon" weapons.

Ablative armor like the one equipped on the Defiant is heavy armor by Star trek standards. As for the type of Asgard ship, I do not know....

Asgard Warship was its only designation in the game.

Bridge Commander is hard to get.

If you have some money to spend you can get it off ebay.

Also note that the original game is not new and will look dated. You will need to install different mods and packs for the game to get really good.

If so you will get a low quality version of the Mark 1 Excelsior and the Lakota.

If you want something really good to replace those low quality ships, look for the Excelsior Family Pack.

It comes with the Excelsior (NX-2000), the ValleyForge, the Lakota, the Enterprise-B, the Centaur and a few others.

Note that I did not use just any Sovereign class starship. I used the refit from Nemesis. Quite a bit more maneuverable than the Asgard warship. Sovereign`s shields are not as powerful but the ammount of phaser banks compensate for this quite well.

You must remember though, these battles were made with Bridge commander...I doubt both universes are set to fight each other.

The Asgard ship lost because the stargate ships are not always to scale. You have 64 mt photon torpedoes draining the shields of a ship that has withstood a good 50 gt of bombardment at least, most likely more. You also have Asgard weapons, which were at least 5 gt a shot on an O'Neill before the beam weapons, not doing nearly as damage as their intended to. Someone did an aurora v. sovereign. The aurora won, but the game failed to take into account that the aurora could've droned the warp core.

Also, it could have been a Sovereign with Voyager's future armor and transphasic torpedoes, but I think such a battle might have lasted hours and the Sovereign animations did not make it look like that was so.

Yes but the Ori have those shields that get stronger the more you shoot at them, I think the Asgard beam weapons in "Unending" were designed specifically to destroy Ori shields because the only other known weapon that could kill them was a couple hundred drones. That one Odyssey crew member also made the comment that the shield was "fluctuating" rather than draining, so the beam weapons could be designed solely to punch through shields.
