I agree that we must strive for Christian unity. But let one be careful that they do not take the other extreme and sacrifice truth in the name of "Can't we all just get along?"
Amen to that! And for the record I have some very hardlined, dogmatic stances on very important doctrinal issues. I just want those of us that are Christians to quit arguing over what Paul calls, disputable matters.
KJV Only or Calvinist debates are NOT important enough to cause division...yet we let it do just that. And as this video points out...Calvin didn't die for me, Jesus did!
Actually, when it comes to the Calvinism/Arminianism debate, that is important(Calvinism doesn't teach that Calvin died for you, by the way). But the disagreement over the two groups is important: can you lose your salvation, or not? Did Jesus die as our substitute for our sins, or did He just make us "saveable"? Are you saved because you chose to yourself, or because God did it? These aren't things we can, nor should, ignore. However, the division is doctrinal, not ecclesiastical.
If I understand you correctly you are claiming that other religions have leaders that have died for their beliefs? If so...first please tell me who you are referring to.
That said, Jesus not only died for my sins (no other man has) but HE ROSE again. Show me another leader of an alternate faith that conquered death and I might have to look into it.
You do have to believe the bible and you do have to believe in his holiness and in his word. So long as you do not use this to twist this and believe you do nt have to obey the word of God which is the bible. The bible is the word of God and the differant variances I believe come from the division which is caused by divisional denominationalism. We must unite in GOd's word in TRUE holiness.
You are so right on. I wonder lately if we are to not say anything at all about doctrines we don't believe in, and let God work it out - kinda like Mark 9:38 (and Luke 9:49) or Phillipians 1:15 - 18.

Still you label yourself as christian, but in other religions where he figures, he also died for his beliefs... You completely disregard those?
