Quinoa is an Incan super food/protein originated from PERU, highly regarded in that culture for its nutritional benefits. Just a quick fact, Thanks :)
Funny old dude is David. He really should get some proper pot holders, but sounds like a nice nosh.
FYI to the silly posting that Braggs Liquid Aminos is MSG
WRONG, MSG is Monosodium glutamate, a form of salt that is mostly safe but some are allergic to. Personally i hate the taste of the stuff when too much is used.
However it is Not an Amino Acid of any kind. It stimulates the protein 'Umami' taste buds but it fools you, there is none in it.
What might confuse some is that it's derived from a non-essential amino acid, which is why it works to enhance the taste of proteins. But it's a derivative, again not an amino acid itself. Just a salt.
In part 1 he explains that his pot is stainless steel with a copper layer. That means that he shouldn't rapidly change its temperature. Don't wash your nice pots until they've cooled to room temperature.
Also: David, ever heard of a potholder or oven mitt?
@GadBoDag : true, but to be honest, I was fixed on 'frog-moths'. I wonder if that music always follows him around. I think it does. And if it doesn't, it should.
Do you think he has that amazing sinister soundtrack following him wherever he goes, whatever he's doing?! Let's hope so...Not sure about the amino acid part though...Hmm!

I have mine as a porridge. I use three times as much quinoa as Lynch, then I sprinkle Waitrose drinking chocolate powder and fatty milk all over it. Yum yum!
I definitely wouldn't be putting the Braggs on it though. A "guy in the pub" told me that all soy products are carcinogenic and give you boy-tiities. Also, in the wilds, even insects won't eat soy. So what does that tell you?
Liquid Braggs' amino acids, I need to check that out. This clip is killer, combining great acting with excellent nutritional ideas and how-to (make the meal he eats.
Interesting, indescribably intriguing, almost like a sophisticated version of the man from the American Gothic painting explaining some surrealistic, improvisational dream, all said while quinoa simmers on the stove.
Is this Macedonia he is talking about? Crossing Greece border in the former Yugoslavia - that means Macedonia! What was he doing going there? It is a pity he didn't put that experience in a film. That would've been something!
the story about coca cola is amazing hahaha

amino acids? Does David Lynch have a problem with his farts?
Billataunt 4 months ago
It looked like he totally burned his food lol.

I don't get what this has to do with the first part of the cooking show. Another Lynch film that's way over my head.
johnnyaaronbliss 11 months ago
mmmm. i could really go for that right now.
(maybe just a little bit less braggs though)

Why does he need amino acids in there? Does he have a problem with his farts or something?

It's funny that he adds MSG to it. Yes, that's basically what amino acids are.

@maraker89 Wrong. Why don't you look at the ingredients?: Glutamic Acid among other things. The stuff is basically MSG mixed with other crap.

Does it drive anyone else crazy that he's stirring the quinoa in the pot with a metal knife?

this is brilliant! please no one buy Lynch a pot holder! let him do it his own way, it's cute in its awkwardness.
the sugar water tent story is amazing - brought memories of my balkan childhood in the 80s. we drank the gaudiest colors of sugar water.
quinoa is great with mushrooms too (sauteed before they go into the quinoa).

I'm curious about his diet... does anyone know, is he into organic foods or what?
joshuak47 3 years ago
well only if you consider cigarettes and coca cola part of a healthy organic diet. ;-)
is is way funny...love him!

And then came the wind....
