the 95-96 7 bolts are the problem due to a weak thrust bearing,IN 97-99 they have a revised TB thats stronger and only 3% of the 97-99 7 bolt motors get Crankwalk other than that If you keep up on regular maintenance and keep the Timing belt/Tensioner changed and DONT overboost it, there great cars.the problem is these kids get them because there a cheap quick car and throw a 20G with 20-30lbs with no tune or anything and people wonder why they break all the time B good 2 them and theyl b good2u
Makes me wish my talon was running.... for some reason it doesnt get any fuel to the rail even with a new pump filter and lines... I think the FPR is stuck closed
if your not reading boost than your gauge is bad lol youd know if u werent hitting boost dude...get a aftermarket gauge and if u wanna raise boost get a boost controller
i have a 94 talon es but the motor is a 1.8 4g37 had it for 2yrs no problems. if u dont care bout hp and speed go wit the 4g37 its slow but it wont leave u stranded on the road
your a fucking idiot buying a car like that and not knowing shit about it. idiots like you ruin dsms. a 16g is a bigass evo turbo which is way better than the stock 1g 14b or the stock 2g t25. learn your shit, then get a dsm.
he doesnt have to know anything to get a dsm, anyone can buy any car they want, Ive met people who RACE cars and dont know shit about them, yet they are the fastest on the streets, it doesnt matter wether he knows anything or not, theres no restriction, your just making an ass of yourself by posting that comment, your just an inconsiderate asshole who rides his brothers dick about his car.
see thats where you make yourself look stupid. you obviously dont know jack shit about dsms. i dont care who races cars that dont know shit about them. a dsm is not a reliable car, yes they are sexy as hell and fast as hell, but they break like no other and nickel and dime you to death. i know personally. theres a 97gst spyder sitting in my driveway right now. unless you want to burn a hole in your pocket, you better know the car and know how to fix it before u pay a mechanic a shitload.
so yet your calling me retarded yet you staed exactly what i said in different words. I dont pay mechanics either buddy, i work on my own cars. you have no right to call the guy an idiot for what kind of car he wants to buy
yea thats exactly what i did cause fighting on youtube is fucking homo. u just obviously dont know dsms because thur nothing but problems and u have to have the knowledge to fix ur own shit cause no matter what a dsm will always break in some way shape or form. im looking out for this guy, if hes gona buy a car that he doesnt even know wat kinda turbo it has..then his wallets gona be empty real quick when his shit breaks
so your watching out for him by calling him a fucking idiot? cuz that makes any sense at all. Yet you try to change the subjects constantly, and yes I do know my dsm's, I personally own a 93 eagle talon that I swapped to a 2.0 turbo
2gs main problem is crankwalk cause of the 7bolt. the 97gst spyder siitin in my driveway walked at 123k, its now got a 6bolt rebuilt 1g motor with a 16g on 17psi. and the cam angle sensor just went out and that was fixed..
@INSERTNAMEjoe The both will. Period, it's in the thrust washer not the motor design itself, I have had a 93 that walked. Doesn't matter what year, also, walk RARELY happens, it's dependent upon care, and suprisingly the quality of clutch and other components, since it has direct impact on the driveline. The 7 Bolts are Identical until the 2GB's upgrade the the thrust bearing.
@belaC1ZbelaC The 2.0 turbo swap...the 4G into a non-turbo 1g...that's a pain in the ass and damn near pointless when you can get a GST/GSX usually for the amount of time you put into the swap.
I wouldn't buy it, you'll blow the car apart within weeks. Its a very strong engine and dependable but from that comment alone you seem like one of those kids that watch the fast and the furious movies and wants to race cuss of it, DSMs require a lot of maintenance and proper care, if you don't do that you'll have it parked up in your driveway more than you will be driving it.

well shit if u own a dsm then u shud know how these bitches break. then again u have a 1g, way more reliable than a 2g
kostellic 2 years ago

The 2G 7Bolts are found in late 93-94 model 1gs.
Just depends on how you car for the motor.
RajinKinoma 1 year ago

The flow map ends at 21psi. Don't go over that or your turbo will be breaking at 180000 rpm.
sunny138913 3 years ago
how do you adjust your boost levels?
1stgtalontsi 3 years ago
MBC look it up.
sunny138913 3 years ago
Boost controller 0_o... Could either me an electronic or manual one.
Londil 3 years ago
your interior beats mine bt a steering wheel (the steering wheel is torn a little bit the interior and everything is imaculate
andyroo89 3 years ago
my slightly worn 14b is running at 13.5 psi do you think if i raise it ill ruin the turbo or the engine like how much can those 14bs take
greg9210 4 years ago
The only thing you should worry about is hitting fuel cut Ull get it around 15 PSI and up. Mine hits it around 18PSI
spooling42r 3 years ago
@greg9210 16ish then they are just pushing air, and out of efficiency.
