my grandparents live on holcomb creek road. they house that it dead ends into. the fire was 11 feet from their front door i counted personally scarrrry time mann
I can't believe what happened there. I lived there for so many years on angeles drive. I am glad my old house was untouched it was a relief to see, but still sad to see the other houses and fox lumber burned..
Thank you for posting this video. My cousin is one of the firemen on here trying to save these houses. It is amazing to see everything he has to go through.
on a side note i was at this fire for 7hours that day got 40mins of video. because i was to busy trying to help firefighters, i know at least 3 address that can thank me putting out there yards and saving there houses.
just to clear a few things, this was the first day of this fire, at the same time cali had 12 major fires. this fire had limited crews on it like, no joke 5 engines for the whole town at.730pst that night the wind picked up so bad ALL FIRE crews were told to pull out. thank god no one stayed in green valley lake or this fire would of had a death list.
This is why you DON'T evacuate. Australians have finally figured out that "shelter in place" and protect your home is the best way to prevent this stuff. Yes, I'm a firefighter.
Thanks powndpuppy, I AM a firefighter in Australia and have posted similar comments to yours on YouTube. I have received nothing but abuse from people in response. What's worse is these people have no knowledge on the topic.
I may be asking the totally obvious, but humor me. Isn't it kinda dumb to stay at your house when a firestorm is rolling through? I know you guys had it rough a few years, so good luck, and keep fighting.
user name is has ch6 in it, my guess camera person works for media and not fire department. i am sure if anyone saw this with there own eye the adrenaline rush would be crazy

My Heart go out to all those who lost their cabin. God Bless you and all the brave firefighters who worked to hard to save the rest of the valley.

I can't help but wonder if the camera person would have been so excited if it was HIS house going up in flames.
