Yeah, doesn't seem like it would be BBQ to me. The bird is too covered up most of the time to get the smoke/grill flavor into it. Might as well have done it in the over. Don't get me wrong, it still looks really good. I will use the bacon idea thought, very good idea.
I am going to try it this way next time, my first Turkey cmae out on the dark side, juicy inside...but I like the skin too!!!!Thanks for the video, I've learned something new today!
as a mother ... how bout he cleans the kitchen first and de-clutter that filthy fridge. And margarine? Dude that is worse than using lard... who tought you how to cook? What happend to washing the turkey (and your hands?) and you NEVER disgard gibblets you use it for stuffing. BTW how did it taste after removing the turckey with the mittens? mmmm fluffy?
First and foremost it's time to get off the hater train... next stop Eltonjohnville. Instead of sitting there and critisizing what they're doing, get off your ass and make a video of yourself. And I never heard anyone complain about having too much food in their fridge; thats a new one
Note: The Hateration Ball is coming up soon so it's time to slip in that nice dress you have Carlos.
Should be entitled "How to steam a turkey on a grill". I'm sure it was good though. I rub salt and spices directly into the skin and set it overnight, no butter needed as turkey skin is fatty enough. The spices draw into the flesh via osmosis and brine the meat to perfection.
that wasn't steamed porky, the water is there to ensure even cooking as the bbq will inevitably have differing temperatures. It also helps with the tenderness and prevents it from getting too dry. I'm sure you noticed when we added the bacon how crispy red the meat was, I don't think it was the steam that did that.
There are many ways of cooking turkey, this was ours....
Just a little trick we learnt to give the turkey extra flavour...lol We're starting a little tshirt gig, we're all wearing swag gear, happy Gobble Gobble

This really looks like a good way to cook a turkey. i have to try it, but I have a few questions for you (I like to be sure of my info).
1. You say medium heat....since I don't think all bbqs are standardized, what specific temp would you say the grill should be at?
2. How heavy was your turkey? Any idea of minutes per pound? Would it work with a bigger turkey?
3. At what point did you add the bbq sauce?
4. What spices did you add to your butter at the start?
Thanks for the video :)

Although it's covered up, trust me you'll get the BBQ flavor. I love the BBQ and foil doesn't stop any of the flavor from getting in.
