  • Got a grinder, have not tried myself. I suspect it will pretty much wipe out a new disk, make a massive amount of dust and spray scrapnal all over the place. BUT I do have offers out to some folks to send them a sample, such that they can hit it w/ a cuttoff wheel and post to utube.

  • What about hydraulic bolt cutters? Surely that would be easier than doing that and they should last long a long time if you buy a good set of them?

  • @mooseling1 Have looked at getting a industrial grade electric bolt cutter. price on kind of steep, about $3000 for a large hand held unit.

  • @4bikeregistry I didnt realise they were that expensive... And good advice about telling people not to use cable locks. They are beyond useless for securing bikes...

  • Are you sure about the claims in the sidebar?

Can it be cut with longer than 3 foot bolt cutters?

  • Very sure about our claims. I cut/ship 10 to 15 of these chains a day. If there was an easier/cheaper way to cut 'em I'd be using it.

  • @4bikeregistry Ever try a cut off wheel on a grinder? I haven't come across anything I can't slice through in my weld shop with a 4.5 x .045 wheel yet.

  • Nice bike chain. Not sure that it will fit on my derailleurs, though. ;-)

  • @scottredd I would guess this is so people do not steal your motorcycle, or bicycle, NOT to power it.....

  • One tough little bicycle chain!
