Listen to the engineer refer to the background singers as 'you'. He's treating them as if they were day workers just picked from a flatbed truck. You can almost picturing them holding rakes.

Steven W. Bender says: "Popular songs sometimes reflect negative social conceptions of Latinas/os, such as the 1948 number-one hit of Peggy Lee and Dave Barbour, 'Mañana (Is Soon Enough for Me),' depicting Latinas/os as lazy and unmotivated." This is really such a stupid song.
Good question, i ment to say that there is some truth at least in the ¨mañana¨ expression so common
among us latins, definitely i think this without a trace of diminishing our latin way of thinking we are far more easy going than the germanic ,saxon ,viking folks , nonsense....you know words...words... steve bender took it too at hart , there is some truth in what he said
this is appalling ethnic stereotyping. of course, it's about mexicans, and totally insulting.

@jogmas12 No no... Manana means tomorrow and the song tells about a lazy girl that she's postponing things all the time... :)

@pal0103 Are you sure he isn't saying "One, two" as in, counting into the song? Or just post whatever first pops into your head.
