Wow haha i was not expecting this :P by the beginning i was like "oh fuck here we go"...but then i heard the rest :) GREEEAAT JOBB DUDE....i played this slower...sadder...you should try it. it sounds nice slowed right down..not that this isnt awsome :) 10 for sure!!
@SaxCalypso It's an arpeggiated Ab7 chord, so the notes are Ab, C, Eb, & Gb (repeated sequentially obviously in an ascending manner). Hope that's what you were asking! :)
@SaxCalypso0:43 is an arpeggiated Db chord, so the notes are Db, F, & Ab sequentially. The other ones at 1:04 and 2:09 are both Ab arpeggios (Ab, C, & Eb).
Great job! I see you played the "boogie" part (2:33) the sheet music transcription added. Liberace didn't actually play that in his performance...did you just keep it because you liked it, or because of something else
@efire08 Actually, the boogie section of the song is part of Liberace's performance. It just so happens that the most popular videos of his "Chopsticks" on Youtube are cut short. Search "Liberace Chopsticks" and look at the video "Liberace Chopsticks.wmv" by showmanlee. That's the full version. (Again, as my video description says, I did tweak the end a bit, but the part you referenced in the sheet music was indeed part of Liberace's original performance). :)
Your Artistry and professionalism is outstanding. Liberace would have been very pleased with your tribute to him by performing chopsticks as he would have played it. I would appreciate and pay you for your midi file of your performance or your own transcript sheet music of your performance. The Bo Ayers transcript of chopsticks is much different then the way you played as you capture the soul and essence of liberace himself. Great job.. frankemorris@comcast.net

Of all the pianists, your Chopsticks version is the only I have ever heard that hasn't killed my ears. I absolutely am in love with piano instrumental music, but for some odd reason, Chopstick's tone is just too unbearable for me. Great Job.
no offense to this guy but with my computer and video editing background to me it looks like this video was sped up a bit, but i have to admit even for sped up this is amazing
@mkonjibhu123234345 I do plenty of videography myself as well actually, and I can tell you that this video was not altered in any way. There are many days I wish I had recorded this with less clutter in the background, but because I didn't, I've just left the video up in this form as it is because of the number of views it's still managed to accrue. Nothing was edited at all though... perhaps the 24 fps I shot it at looks deceiving to the eye? Who knows! :) Still, thanks for the kind comment!
@MrPianoman421: Superb performance!!! I can definitely use your performance to do it. Btw, I have one questiondid you use sheet music or ... by ear? thanks
@jlh2667 I did use the sheet music transcription of Liberace's rendition, but after going through it, I quickly realized that it was slightly less complicated than how he actually performed it, so I did have to add to the sheet music a bit, and after doing that, I figured it wouldn't be too much more work to add on a different ending too, so that's why my ending is different from Liberace's as well. Hope that answers your question: mostly sheet music, but extra added where needed!
@mkonjibhu123234345 Ya man i have seen MrPianoMan live at concerts and such thats the legit speed, no editting.... and i agree regardless its pretty awesome
For everyone who is interested, you can purchase the sheet music at the Liberace Museum Website.
The sheet music does a pretty good job, but there are a few things that Liberace did in his own performances that aren't written exactly in the music, but they aren't too hard to figure out with a little work. Also, the ending in my video is my own, but pretty easy to figure out too -- just some scales and repeated cadences. :)
@lomtevas I know this isn't the answer you to want to hear, but it just comes with practice! The more comfortable you get with playing in general and the more you can internalize the music and feel the rhythm inside yourself, the less concerned you become about playing something "exactly right." Yes, that has it's time and place, but sometimes doing small things can make something look really impressive (i.e. arpeggiate 8ves instead of just playing one after the other). Be creative & have fun!
@MrPianoman421 I love your rendition, but the I cannot find anywhere on the Liberace site where I might purchase the music. They seem to be having monetary difficulties. I'd love to get a copy of that sheet music. Do you know anywhere else one could go?
I really want to learn this! i have been playing for nearly 10 years!! and want to learn this. my piano teacher and i cant find it! how did you learn it ? did you just watch liberace and then learn by ear ?
That was amazing. If at all possible, would you be willing to do it again, but a little slower, and with the camera right over the piano. I will pay you! I want to learn this so bad, and I'm sure others do to!
