Repairing Electric Wheelchair Motor and Gearbox

Could someone help me find out what kind of gearbox that is? I need to get ahold of one but cant find it anywhere! i know its in parallel with the motor, and is a planetary gearbox. but im unable to find a manufacturer anywhere online O_O

@ESPPsycho i have seen them used in many mobility scooters- try looking for mobility scooter spare parts on ebay or something.

Thanks for the video.I have a companion 11 I think the motor is burnt,but don't know about motors so that is why I was surfing.Yours helped me alot as to what is inside of mine.Not paying $500. for a new one.Only pd $100. for the scooter.It ran some then brakes overheated or something.Smelled bad,but still clicks so might not be too hard to fix.Thanks for posting.

yeah, I've had a couple tagged by WMG, but the music I use now is freely distributed and available on youtube.

of course, thats not to say they will change their minds and pull everything.

I have a feeling the tube will develop into a talking head zone, anything else is getting far too dangerous to put up.

Everywhere you go now has restrictions on what you can film as people are well aware that videos can go online and spoil the privacy of their event.

These days you pull a video out in public and you can see the fear on their faces.

Might make for a good little story.

Good find. I bid on something similar on ebay and got out bid, seems people will pay a few hundred for something like that. I wanted to build a slow speed go-cart for my son. So, my suggestion is you should build an Ed transporter, something to get you to the fridge and back for beer :-)

lol I like that idea, I have seen them on ebay, but as you said, they are pricy.

I was thinking of taking the army mule idea and amking it electric. just a flat platform with a seat and steering wheel at the front. just need to find some running gear.

Sounds a bit noisy at the end there. Maybe it needs a bit of oil?

That brake works surprisingly good, usually small brakes like that are worthless

yeah, theres a bushing at the end of the long shaft thats a bit noisy. I've oiled it all now and its better.

That EM brake is a normally locked unit; it's supposed to stop the motor when power is removed from it.

Ah cool!. what were they like as far as power/torque is concerned?

did they have a bit of grunt or fairly tame?

they have alot of torque made to move a 350 pound person.

gear reduction is about 30 to 1.

just be carefull the brake and motor are not designed to run for long times with out rest.

ie 10 mins on 15 off ect.

also what do you do for a liveing
