This is a pond hockey game involving Yukon College students from Whitehorse, Yukon. Gabe Rivest stumbled upon a smooth-as-glass lake on Windy Arm, which is part of Tagish Lake in Yukon. He grabbed six classmates and they hit the ice Sunday.
Sportsnet posted the video on its website.
"I was totally not expecting it," he said. "I guess for lots of people in the world, it's probably a very amazing thing to see. It was unreal to be there."
man, i love this country.. I'd was about to say they should play the winter classic there, but i don't think they'd appreciate it. Lets keep it as our own secret jewel.
the ice was about 7 to 9 inches thick which is more then enough to skate on. Also the ice is black cause were standing over water that deep. there are photos of the shelf comming into view which are amazing. Being the windy arm of tagish the name itself explains why there is no snow on the surface. great video gabe shows off our home wonderfully.
@Arsen1c42 So you...HATE...him? for posting this? Wow you need help. Maybe instead of hating someone you should thank them and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Then maybe if you can hold a job, get a plane ticket and fly up to one of these lakes and enjoy it for yourself :)
@supermansakic maybe you should take the douche-goggles off and try reading that comment again before you make any statements on who here needs help. and maybe look up the definition of irony while you're at it.
@supermansakic I don't actually hate him :) I envy him for having such a beautiful location to play at and the time to play there, I have a very good paying job and work full time, with limited days off but thank you for your suggestion ;)
