This is a good looking vehicle. Interior upgrades are welcome now update the exterior. This is dodges hidden gem. Needs upgrades and improved efficiency. Keep costs low and really work towards a 40mpg with great performance. Oh relocate the battery. Thats a pita to get too.
@Trekologist - Maybe, but the 3.6/8spd Charger is also a $30k car, whereas an SXT Plus Avenger is only about $24k..throw in the fact that they always deal on Avengers, and rarely on the Chargers, and there is an even bigger price gap. The Avenger is definitely on my radar as soon as I pay off my Dakota (which I am keeping).
@superdart75 But the Charger is a bigger, heavier, more luxurious, RWD car with the same V6 engine. All signs should point to the Charger being worse in gas mileage, but with the new 8 speed, isn't. If the new Dart is going to have a options to get it to 40 MPG, the Avenger won't make much sense in the Dodge lineup until it has more competitive numbers.
@Trekologist Agreed on the "competitiveness" but Dodge is supposedly migrating to a ZF 9spd transaxle in the near future (per Allpar), which should put the Avenger (or whatever replaces it) in the correct ballpark between the Charger and Dart. In the mean time, 29mpg from a V6 Avenger with just as nice of an interior and $7K less is totally worth it in my book.
Too bad they put a spoiler on it....takes away from the contour of the car and is totally worthless.

@FlatoutDodge yes i know theyve never had forced induction hence the latter part of my comment including installing a v8.

@gotgears3444 but its just not possible with a small fwd car. however srt would use forced induction, thats the real performance package

I also love my 2011 heat! I also got an oppurtunity to test out the RT and I can tell you there isn't a very big difference. Both good cars

I love my 2011 Heat... Although, part of me is wishing I waited for the R/T.

If the Avenger was going to die, it would have worn the ran head like the caliber!
DetonatorYellow 2 months ago
to all the dumasses out there, the dart will replace the caliber which ends production in 2012, the avenger will get a REDESIGN in 2013 as well

@madhatter913 caliber is being replaced by the dart, not the avenger

@RickyWhitefreeze The Dart will be at Big as the Avenger, That explains the Avenger ending production

I really like these things, but with the 8 speed in the 3.6 Chargers and 300s, makes the Avenger's MPG numbers look a little dated.
