The U.S army per say, when they go oversea, they dont interact much with the native population, they keep to themselve. i know i serve the U.S Navy in japan, i learn to speak japanese, many of my english friend did not, they feel that you need to know english or you are not one of us.

Sorry sir, but the largest british armada in the world commanded by Sir Edwar Vennon with 186 vessels & 23,600 combatants (the second bigest in History after Normandy at WW2) was defeated against spanish armada at Cartagena de indias in 1741 during the War of Jenkins' Ear. What a pity that we don't try to erase history from books by all ways & we don't presume about that as others usually do.

Actually during the Napoleonic wars Spain switched allegiances numerous times.
Of course, it was Arthur Wellesley, later to become Lord Wellington who drove France out of Spain.
We're friends now though. Latin culture is beautiful.

I went to see Nelson's Column and Tomb when I was in England. I didn't know at the time that England still had his flagship. I am utterly sad I did not get to see it. I will one day though. Thank god England looks after it's national treasures. Nelson is my hero.
