  • this was really well done but no dynamics whatsoever..

  • Oh my gosh, I remember singing this my freshman year at the Heritage Music Festival! It was so much fun, brings back memories (:

  • this sounds beautiful. :)

  • I'm from Arizona Lutheran Academy, we performed this at the 2008 Wels Regional Choral Festival... my favorite is the many waters part... makes my eyes tear up

  • I have been trying to find this arrangement for a long time!!! I can't find it anywhere!

  • I applaud you!!!! I haven't heard this piece since higschool but you performed it as it should be. GOOD JOB!!!

  • takes me back to 97 and 98 at Elyria High School we performed this at the Cleveland Convecation Center. In University Circle Ithink that's how you spell it. I miss chior. I think going to state sontests was the most fun for us :)

  • He is so precious, And sometimes HE seems to be hiding----Yet it is us who moved

  • Not bad!

  • I do hope you know chamber is an all males Choir; in my school anyway. :/

    but they are good. :]

  • thats the way it is in my school...

but they are good... about as big as my concert choir

  • omg... this is so good. were doing this song at school. the version is so diffrent tho.

  • im singing this next thursday at a eveent where a bunch of schools from northern ohio come together and sing im a alto and its really hard to sing

  • we're doing this for competition with my high school quartet..i dont agree with the unneeded dynamic contrast on the word "strong" and i am a bit unsure about the tempo of the song. The first part should be reflective and the "many waters" should progress a little faster. Vowels were typical high school choir as well. overall nice harmonies though

  • Very well done! I really enjoyed this performance. The only real comment I have is that the tenors are drowning out the weaker bass section, and even then, it's not too noticeable. I hope that this vocal department continues to be this good!

  • Nice. Brings back memories of my chamber choir days. We did this my Junior year.

  • I remember doing this for OUR Chamber Choir as well... Very lovely. Sounds about the same as us back in the day! lol Thanks for sharing.

  • whose arrangement is this, please?

  • Rene Clausen

  • the chamber choir i'm in is singing this at a wedding in a few weeks and at our choir concert later in october. Great song!!

  • i sang this YEARS ago and LOVED it. i want it sung at my wedding

  • we are doing this song in my high school, IT IS SO HARD TO SING!! so stop putting it down, they did great.

  • i agree that it is hard to sing; i can't even control my breathing very well. then again, i've just started learning it. good luck in your performance of it :)

  • THANKS!!!!! Yeah we just started learning it like 4 days ago... :-)

  • I'm singing this song with my school Chamber Choir. This song sounds pretty. The only thing I could suggest is more equality between parts.

  • Not too bad! Performance would have benefitted from more rehearsal with better phrasing. The ends of phrases were often abruptly clipped and there's no reason for them to be. The singers have plenty of time to breath before the next phrase......but that takes some practice. This group could also listen to each other a lot more as their blend was not a strong point. All the parts are nicely and securely learned however. A respectable performance.

  • MOAR BASS

  • It was really good. Just two things.

    1. It seemed a bit sloppy. Maybe if it was more lagato and sung with more control and breath support.

    And

    2. I could be wrong, but it kind of sounded like the word "neither" was pronunced two different ways across the choir. Make sure everyone in the choir is always singing the same vowel at the same time. That will help the song blend better.

  • It was GREAT! :)

The only thing that bothered me was the girl in the front with her hands up, and the sopranos with the e's. It gets really country when you sing e's in high notes - so yeah.

  • agreed!!

  • Many waters cannot quench love...neither can the floods drown it.

  • i love songgg.

i think it would have come across better if the tempo was slowed down.

    and more lagato.

  • The girl in the front needs to put her hands down!

  • it was good but it coulda flowed better

  • im singing this soon in the near weeks with my choir (advance chorale) so i hope we can do well XDD......nice performance ^_^

  • i'm singing this with my choir [women's choir] in about two weeks at a music competition only it's a different variation, but the same lyrics. i think you guys have really good intonation and vowels. the only thing i'd work on is dynamics. other wise i enjoyed this video very much ^-^

  • im doing dis song at my high school north cobb and its my favorite love it xoxoxoxo Nelly

  • haha no. him and his wife were expecting a baby and the day that the group was meeting the two never showed up. so he called my teacher later that night and they found out the baby they were expecting was dead. and they couldnt remove it untill monday (this was on a friday) so they kept her in the hospital over the weekend and he came home and wrote this.

  • the story behind this song is really sad. my choir teacher was in the same group as the writer and his wife.

  • What is the story? I just thought it was just some of the poetry from the Song of Songs in the Bible.

  • To be honest this is quite dreadful. No blending, no vowels, the sopranos aren't using enough power and the men are using too much. Altos are pretty good, but you all sound extremely young...like a bunch of jr highers or something.

No diction, and no stage prescense. Not ending at the same time.

    NEED to watch director.

    Sorry.

Out of ten i give it a 3.

  • I could not have put it more bluntly, but yes the men do need to learn something called dynamics. Also, the overall tone is just not what the song was meant to sound like. Where's the emotion men and women?

Though, many of these flaws may have not been worked out thoroughly enough by the director.

  • oh, but when looking at pitch, they were together through almost the whole piece

  • i agree.

  • you guys have a very nice blend. but i think that you guys can try to sound more mature

  • diction was awful.. tempo was too fast.. dynamics werent pronunced enough.. could have been better.

  • I sang this at my voice teacher's wedding. it's a great song. a little young sounding.. but overall, very nice.

  • sound is overall good, diction is awful

  • UMM WHAT ABOUT THE BARITONE'S????

  • Fantastic for a high school performance! Very good

  • lazy basses or not enough? I sang this song as the lowest bass and unfortunetly I only guess the bottom D at the end and the bottom E during the song...

  • this song is crap i hate doing it....but you'all sound good and thank god you blend

  • oh my god..i remember singing this song when i went to kamehameha.. brings back so many memories.. and its sad cuz we sang it at our friends mom's funeral..

  • It really bothers me that the one girl in the front row is crossing her arms! BLEH~!!

But this is an awsome song! I sang it when I was in highschool! Great job!

  • this song is so pretty acapella, we did this in our last winter concert

  • this is a beutiful song but the soprano and basses are being lazy. Good job altos and tenors!

  • lol

  • Beautiful.
