  • Woowww Fantastic Sound.

  • Lovely sound, great playing and appropriate sound effects for a harpsichord. That's what they do; make a bit of mechanical clatter if the microphone is close enough! And so do the great Cavaille-Coll organ consoles!

  • Lovely sound!

    Thanks

  • tres belle piece!

  • looks like a real lovable instrument of character, too ! :)

  • keep being a Bamf, man :)

  • Francesco (musiclover63) on died December 8 2009

  • Condoglianze =(

  • This is terrible news. I don't even know his real name.

  • his name was Francesco Donelli (Parma, Italy)

  • @bigposaune - Shit! And the world is rob of another talent. Damn, that's too bad. He played so beautifully. Damn, that's just sucks. Sorry for his friends and family.

  • Excellent! And a "real" harpsichord. I have loved long since the noise of mechanics in ancient organs, but that's very fine in this harpsichord too.

  • it is obvious some people can only see the bad side of all. forget about the clakaty clack sound and listen how wonderful this man plays . a little bit of culture please!

  • @clovisqc Agreed. More clakaty clak, less yakaty yak.

  • Wonderful! Interesting phrasing ... very good!

  • Boccherini style!!

  • MUY BIEN :)

  • wonderful exhibit of typing technique!

is it possible to turn the radio down a little next time so we can fully enjoy the sounds of your typewriter without the distracting music?

(you have one of the most elegant qwertys I've ever seen!)

  • fantastic! who did you study with?

  • I love this quiet flowing tempo. When I read (or dream) about the Barock I see musicians who play like you.

  • Beautiful, expressive playing! I'm on my 3rd harpsichord - a spinet actually, made from a kit in the 1960's. Simply can't afford the nicer instruments, but hey - a spinet for $200 that required only a bit of work to make playable again!

Am so glad that the harpsichord revival is still going strong, with better and more accurate instruments being made and played by people like you.

    - Hans

  • Considering the cost of a raw kit, you did _very_ well to find a spinet in need of but little work at $200.

  • I'd love to know how you make your playing flow like that. It's amazing, and the best harpsichord playing I've heard. Wonderful stuff.

  • keyboard's noise does not bother me at all. it's even better with. great piace, great interpretation and great recording quality. thanks

  • The noise of the keyboard action and jacks is quite distracting in this recording. Better mike placement might help.

  • I love the sound of the mechanics churning. Gives it ambiance.

  • el clavecin es el mejor instrumento

  • Would you mind re-puting this piece in a lighter format ? It takes hours to load and I so much love this piece...

  • i love this instrument!

  • bellisimo muy bello... te felicito.

  • why two rows of keys?

  • Loud and soft

  • superb playing, thanks

  • Very beautiful. You are a great musician.

  • i love la forqueray!!

    namaste!!

  • very good

  • The piece is LOVELY, I think French Baroque is greatly under-appreciated today and this needs to change. Especially Rameau, he was a genius.

However, I HATE the annoying clicking sound that the clavecin's action makes. Just like and old typewriter. Is there a way to fix that?

  • You can play on clavicord maybe or use the luth way to play it. Or change instrument :-)

When harpsichord exists, it was no typewriter.

The best way would probably to play in clavicord. But is it possible technically ? Not sure. Ask a specialist.

  • nice

  • did you hear that when he tipes makes a charming sound with the music ?

    awesome instrument =D

    another instrument created by GOD

    ^_^

  • wow, i love the Clavecin, my preffer intrument.

    Thanks for the video

  • muy convincente haa locazo!!!..

  • Completely Beautiful. Thanks for your Music, and, of course, Congratulations. Very, Very, Very Good.

  • Exquisite. DuPhly, and your interpretation. Thanks so much.

  • Maravillosa su música, gracias!

  • Nice performance, thanks for posting it.

  • Wow. I must confess this is the 1st time i hear this i randomly got into this video but as soon as i started hearing i felt soooo relaxed, sleepy...i dont know i felt strange. Lovely song and i quiet enjoyed hearing the tips of the musician aswell :]

  • Thanks much for this video! AS much as I worship Bach's music, I always had a special affinity for the French Baroque. And this piece is one of the reasons why I do.

  • Really good piece and awsome playing.

As I'm more into the german baroque masters 'til now, I'd appreciate someone recommending some french pieces.

  • very nice !

a question : how much did you pay for this harpsichord ? I am interested in buying one in few years :)

  • Vavalak price of new car! 25 000$ Can

  • Superbe ! Merci d'avoir mis en ligne cet enregistrement.

  • i feel like crying listening to this fine piece...

  • What a fantastic performance of a fantastic piece! This piece perfectly illustrates what French Baroque is all about: putting the listener into an altered state which just floats there. It doesn't have the goal-directedness of, say Bach, lacks strong melodies, so it has been neglected till lately. But it does its own thing in its own way. Beautifully played; I hope we hear many more gems like this from this artist!

  • who is playing?

  • HEY, Musiclover, you should realized your skill is too much for youtube videos, go record some music!!

  • bravo. Forqueray mérite bien ça !

  • thats 'jacques Duphly' on the wikapedia (the spelling needs to be correct!)

  • there is a website that has the scores for free, go to the english language page of the wikipedia entry for jaques duphly

  • What score do you play Duphly and Forqueray from?

  • Dear Clover,I knew that you had to be italian.

Y?because in spite of your training, you are still

perstisting to try and be expressive. You should

be good boy and play to the same metronome as

the other Cembalists.I'm going to favorite this,

but only on the condition that you stop restraining

yourself and really begin to let it out.

You'll be hated,as all expressive people are,

    but so what?Your Friend,Smith

  • Does this piece has been translatezd for barock flute ? Thanks !

  • I really don't know

    Thanks for watching

  • Indeed, as I scan the comments before mine, I realize I have noted a true exception to the run of harpsichord music I've run into, and it's not "just me", but this is unusual fare, this "French harpsichord music", in its capacity to offer beautiful sentimentalities of sound, with rythm and coherence.

  • Ah, finally. Some harpsichord music capable of sustaining an audible sentiment. Good.

  • Hi i love froberger very much so can you play his music? Duphlys music is beautiful under uor hands !

  • wow...this is so well played, it sounds so touching, I never know that harpsichord can sounds so nice.

  • Indeed a beautiful piece and so beautifully performed, a real treat, I haven't heard this piece for some time.

I must play my French harpsichord CD's more often, this music is so hypnotic!

  • This is one of the most beautiful piece by Jacques Duphly i think. Thank you very much for your videos.
