Say, what is the punishment for aposthasy in Islam? Is it death, as in the time of Catholic Inquisition? And why is it executed all over the world?
Because if there would not be the instrument of Inquisition in Islam, the majority would have left Islam toward Atheism, like the Christians did.

The islamic Research mainly consisted of collecting the knowledge of the conquered territories(Persia, India, Egypt, Byzantine) and via trade routes(China). This documentary was meant to go beyond any religious precept that might tarnish its goal: recognize the fact that people under Islamic rule were once far better off than under any other rule. Islam was a vehicle rather that a goal for a noble agenda. It encouraged knowledge, scientific achievement and above all quality instead of mediocrity under a repressive Catholic church that was so paranoid it burned and tortured whoever dared to contradict its agenda.

Ottomans in 1650's were in and nearby modern day Croatia, Slovenia, and right outside of Vienna which at the time is said to be Europe's most fortified city. Surely this isn't "Hinterland". Ottomans also controlled the Meditteranean which France, Italy, Greece, Malta, Cyprus (Which Ottomans conquered).
So they had made both naval and land advances into Europe and Mediterranean countries.

Why don't you focus on the discrimination both work and social faced by Muslim minorities in Europe? Turkey having no Christians left isn't Turkey's problem nor does Turkey give a damn. Islam as an ideology today is old-fashioned and backwards, but that is something that has only started recently. Even up to 70 years ago, Islam was still an accepted ideology, and then back in those days during the Crusades and during Moorish rule in Spain, Islam was a VERY modern ideology that was to be so admired and it was able to transform so many poor societies into modern and civilized societies. It's just right now Islam is starting to get a bit old and dated.
Having said this it's not right to generalize ALL Muslims. The Muslim world is very big and has so many cultures in it. Yes, many of these cultures are backwards, and for some reason Europe has this obsession with only allowing the Muslims from the worst parts of the world to live there. Blame your government, they should know better.
However, Muslims from places like Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, etc usually become very productive and good members of society.

This documentary was meant to go beyond any religious precept that might tarnish its goal: recognize the fact that people under Islamic rule were once far better off than under any other rule. Islam was a vehicle rather that a goal for a noble agenda. It encouraged knowledge, scientific achievement and above all quality instead of mediocrity under a repressive Catholic church that was so paranoid it burned and tortured whoever dared to contradict its agenda.

While the byzantine empire died 1453 the western powers expanded spectacularly. Ottomans in 1650's were in and nearby modern day Croatia, Slovenia, and right outside of Vienna which at the time is said to be Europe's most fortified city. Surely this isn't "Hinterland". Ottomans also controlled the Meditteranean which France, Italy, Greece, Malta, Cyprus (Which Ottomans conquered).
So they had made both naval and land advances into Europe and Mediterranean countries.

Once more, the areas you mention are 'hinterland' from a western point of view. Islam as an ideology today is old-fashioned and backwards, but that is something that has only started recently. Even up to 70 years ago, Islam was still an accepted ideology, and then back in those days during the Crusades and during Moorish rule in Spain, Islam was a VERY modern ideology that was to be so admired and it was able to transform so many poor societies into modern and civilized societies. It's just right now Islam is starting to get a bit old and dated.

Having said this it's not right to generalize ALL Muslims. The Muslim world is very big and has so many cultures in it. Yes, many of these cultures are backwards, and for some reason Europe has this obsession with only allowing the Muslims from the worst parts of the world to live there. Blame your government, they should know better.
However, Muslims from places like Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, etc usually become very productive and good members of society.

You got your history wrong. The muslim world "preserved" western thinking of the romans and greeks for their own advancement. Yes, there were material influences in warfare, medicine, architecture, science, but western thinking developed out much different sources than islamic thoughts. Catholicism(not christianity) was the main source of western thinking.
