Many of us are now ashamed to be Democrats. More than that, we have come to fear our own Democratic Party. Hatred and corruption - the roots of socialism - are on the march as they have never been before, and leading this march is our Democratic Party. Increasingly, mainstream Democrats are uncomfortable with what they are seeing in our party. All the more, we know it is dangerous.
Sir, very well said. I voted Democrat most all my life with a few exceptions. I voted for Clinton and Kerry but I have to say back at the democrat convention when Obama spoke there was something about him that made the hair on the back of my head stand up. We as Democrats are marching in a parade with people Harry Truman or even Jack Kennedy would not recognize - socialist (also know as progressives) who think that Western civilization began in 1969. Compared to himself in his written speeches. Of course it's something else when there's no script -- but it surprises me how much he stumbles and struggles in comparison to how perfectly he executes when prepared and ready. Hey I love Obama, but that's my observation.
I've seen this same type of "stumbling" in other extremely intelligent, well-educated people. My personal opinion is that while Obama is giving this statement he's thinking about a dozen other things at the same time. The super intelligent are the ultimate multi-taskers.
I agree. He is a multi-faceted thinker. He's got tons on his plate when it comes to this country and he won't be able to accomplish all those goals in 4 years.
It's so much harder to build something than to tear it down. :/
Good point, but although gifted, what's really there to suggest that Obama is "super intelligent"? The crux here is that we want him to be just that, and one of his gifts is to make that impression -- but beyond that, I really don't see it.
Also remember that professorships etc is by no means evidence of "super intelligence".
@robbe21 What? Did you watch the Q & A with the GOP Caucus? He dealt with all those nonsensical questions the right have shitting out of their mouths wonderfully. This morning, even that stooge on Fox & Friends, Steve Doocy, said it would be a horrible idea for them to go into another open forum with the President. He said it would be "another spanking". Fuck man, Fox even cut the Q & A short it, while the other networks chose to broadcast the whole thing, it was so bad.
It was a beautiful sight. Obama walks into the lion's den (the liar's den?), single handedly destroys every imbecilic gop talking point from the gathered 140 dim-bulbs, stays late, walks tall out the door completely unscathed as a silenced gop is left shivering on the floor in a collective fetal position. the gop was so panicked that faux noose pulled the plug on coverage.
I couldn't agree with you more my friend. Republicans are stupid to want to go against Obama toe to toe. They'll end up embarrassing themselves again just like last week.
"Republicans are stupid to want to go against Obama toe to toe."
Oh yeah, they know Obama has put them in a no-win situation on this. If they sit for bipartisan meetings their obstructionist tactics will be revealed, and if they don't sit for the meetings their obstructionist tactics are even more obvious.
Yes I did, and he did very well. The one point to make in this specific instance is that the questions and issues he responded to was, in many cases, so weak, exaggerated, logic-lacking if not borderline crazy that one can argue it doesn't really say that much that he was able to shoot them down.
@robbe21 - Oh really? Go check out the vids of Obama owning the entire Republican party at their Baltimore retreat for two hours after the SOTU address. Just him, the facts, no teleprompters, and room full of stupid Repugs with ZERO criticism of his answers to their ridiculously accusatory questions. See it for yourself.
Not difficult to understand ('though easy to pretend to misunderstand), bipartisanship can't mean: Scrap everything that's gone before, and start over on the basis of a pre-agreement that nothing shall be done.
HOWEVER, one side will frame this as not giving and inch, and the other side will frame this as total capitulation.
@voyeurdug: Exactly. The GOP is overpopulated with witless boors. They need to understand that their ideas are being solicited, and if they're good ideas then they might be integrated into the health reform bill. GOPers don't understand that diplomacy requires communication. Another example of that mindset is all the wailing and thrashing about when Obama said he was open to discussions with the leaders of countries we're at odds with.
You know, the American people need to just stop being fools, and shitting their pants in fear every time the insurance companies tell them this is a government takeover.
Right wing people act as if individual greed in the private sector does not exist, or does not factor into politics at all, or that greed is what makes our country great. They are wrong about all of those things.
These people should, & will be able to keep getting fucked out of their money by smarter people.
Im starting to think he is stupid, does he really still think that the republicans want bipartisanship? They have been kicking him in the nuts for a year now, when will he wake up?
It's not the republicans that want bi-partisanship (although they have been 'calling' for it - and what he's doing now is basically calling their bluff) But it's the swing voters that want 'bi-partisanship', not to mention that 'bi-partisanship' was a big part of his campaign.
@verstwo2 Sure you are right, but it takes 2 to tango, and if they don't "dance" he can't spend his whole presidency trying to get their support and get nothing done. I don't thing the american people want's bipartisanship at any cost.
Yes, I do know that, but I also know he's given Congress and the Senate way too much time to agree on this Bill. Obama wants a Health Care reform bill, but he's taken attention away from pushing it...the Democrats should just pass it and forget the GOP, they don't want any reform, their friends and themselves are making too much money by keeping it just the way it is...that's called GREED! Pleanty of that going around in D.C.
any person who thinks healthcare is a RIGHT needs to go read the ussr constitution...get in step comrade...that's what the dems think is bipartisanship...social security, medicaid, etc. are all communist precipices per their own constitution...march to the communist drum

Compared to himself in his written speeches. Of course it's something else when there's no script -- but it surprises me how much he stumbles and struggles in comparison to how perfectly he executes when prepared and ready. Hey I love Obama, but that's my observation.
robbe21 2 years ago
I've seen this same type of "stumbling" in other extremely intelligent, well-educated people. My personal opinion is that while Obama is giving this statement he's thinking about a dozen other things at the same time. The super intelligent are the ultimate multi-taskers.
kaysandesses 2 years ago 6
I agree. He is a multi-faceted thinker. He's got tons on his plate when it comes to this country and he won't be able to accomplish all those goals in 4 years.
It's so much harder to build something than to tear it down. :/
Magestrix 2 years ago 5
Good point, but although gifted, what's really there to suggest that Obama is "super intelligent"? The crux here is that we want him to be just that, and one of his gifts is to make that impression -- but beyond that, I really don't see it.
Also remember that professorships etc is by no means evidence of "super intelligence".

If Obama is inarticulate, Reagan was an amphibian. And W was an amoeba.
taoofmichael 2 years ago 11
now now, let's not go picking on amoebas by comparing them to the idiot bush
KataVideo 2 years ago 3
nice. thx for the laugh.
but come to think of it, even if Obama is NOT inarticulate (that is, if he is articulate), Reagan was an amphibian, and W was an amoeba.
cheers!

It was beautiful ! That was the highlight of my month ! I think I'll start calling that the Kenyan Bitch Slap Session ! He sure did bitch slap them !

you nailed it! and beautiful it was. :-D

@ Alien Truth
I couldn't agree with you more my friend. Republicans are stupid to want to go against Obama toe to toe. They'll end up embarrassing themselves again just like last week.

"Republicans are stupid to want to go against Obama toe to toe."
Oh yeah, they know Obama has put them in a no-win situation on this. If they sit for bipartisan meetings their obstructionist tactics will be revealed, and if they don't sit for the meetings their obstructionist tactics are even more obvious.
I wonder if Obama plays chess...

on a 3-dimensional board, no doubt. :-D

Ha ha, well said!
Thanks for posting the list of Obama's accomplishments too.
kaysandesses 2 years ago

HOWEVER, one side will frame this as not giving and inch, and the other side will frame this as total capitulation.
voyeurdug 2 years ago

IAMtheNewWorldOrder 2 years ago 4
Im starting to think he is stupid, does he really still think that the republicans want bipartisanship? They have been kicking him in the nuts for a year now, when will he wake up?
lota68 2 years ago
It's not the republicans that want bi-partisanship (although they have been 'calling' for it - and what he's doing now is basically calling their bluff) But it's the swing voters that want 'bi-partisanship', not to mention that 'bi-partisanship' was a big part of his campaign.
verstwo2 2 years ago 2
@verstwo2 Sure you are right, but it takes 2 to tango, and if they don't "dance" he can't spend his whole presidency trying to get their support and get nothing done. I don't thing the american people want's bipartisanship at any cost.
lota68 2 years ago
Yes, I do know that, but I also know he's given Congress and the Senate way too much time to agree on this Bill. Obama wants a Health Care reform bill, but he's taken attention away from pushing it...the Democrats should just pass it and forget the GOP, they don't want any reform, their friends and themselves are making too much money by keeping it just the way it is...that's called GREED! Pleanty of that going around in D.C.
