This is standard, I think... in here Japan, construction trucks are smeared with dust or mud sometimes, but most of tanker trucks and long-distance trucks are polished perfectly.  I guess it's because all drivers love so much their trucks :)

You will find the trucks in Finland for the most as clean, and that is something i always wonder about, because with the climate and agriculture roads are dusty and dirty all the time, I always wonder if they do more driving or cleaning as truck drivers!

I know in USA the truckies polish the backs of their rigs to reflect your lights at night to discourage you from following too close. S/t to do with tires losing their tread. Didn't put me off, as it sure does save gas!

in canada you have to pull over, and on divided you dont if it is on the other side. if you come to a stopped emergency vehicle you have to slow to 60km/hr minimum and give them room as you pass by.

It's because of the cost of fuel. Wide bodies weigh more and need more fuel to move. That ambulance probably has a 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine in it that gets 30mpg but doesn't move all that fast considering it's an ambulance.
