SUPER AWESOME! Just received an old frame from a friend....looks like I got a wknd project. Can't wait to try this technique! Thanx so much for sharing!
@flippingpages the crackle paint by tim holtz cracks on its own. it comes in the same colors as his distress ink. and the jars are super small. the elmer's glue technique is if yo dont have the crackle paint it is cheaper and you can buy several bottles for your dresser. Hope this helps you. good luck with your dresser
@flippingpages the crackle paint crack on its own. no heating. you just paint it on and let it dry. its like $4 for a tiny jar. if you are doing a dresser so the same thing with the elmers as Drew. it will be cheaper. there is also crackle medium that you can get in the store. you would do the same thing as drew did only instead of the glue you will use the medium . hope this helps you. good luck with your dresser
Thank you so much for doing this video. I wanted to learn this technique and looked up on YouTube howto create crackle paint finish...and there you were. You made this a very easy process. I'm going to practice today.
you are awesome!!! I came to your channel though loganscraftymomma... I'm sure going to try this. I live in Spain so we dont have Elmers glue here, but I'll give it a try with a ordinary school glue. Love your work and you are very easy to understand. Hugs
Hey! I watched this and did it. I used the off brand glue I had so I think it did not come out so great....but I tried and I gave you a shout out in the video on my channel. I just started a channel, but I have been watching you for a long time. You are so clear and so easy to understand! Love your work!
Thanks alot for sharing this tutorial Drew, very helpful. Don't worry about ever doing a tutorial, no matter how many others are on youtube. I didn't know about this technique so I've never looked it up and the only reason I now know about it is I stopped by your channel to see what new video's you had. Love your channel...you are very talented.
Great little vid. Can't wait to try this on picture frames! Wondering: can you use this same technique on furniture? I want to refinish my dresser and chest.
I can't believe I don't have any plain elmers glue in the house. And it's minus 10 degrees so i can't justify going out to buy some, lol. would this work w/ mod podge or gesso???
What an Awesome technique...thanks Drew, I would really love to try this on a Dia De Los Muertos project...(skulls) Congrats on your Prima shows...that's great! :)
OMG!! Thanks for the idea using a glue instead of crackle paint...so much cheaper, same effect!! love it!!

@gutwrench32 wash your hands or you can rub your fingers together and it will cause it to crumble off.

Great idea, Drew. I had never heard of creating crackle that way.
Do you need to heat set it, or can it dry on it's own and still crackle?

Thanks for this! This is a great idea for people on a budget. Now I'm off to get some crackling done.
