I think I remember seeing this before, is it a repost Mike? Spot heard the dogs at the first and came to see what was going on and then took off growling.....ROFL. That looks like fun, I would like to do that someday, I'll have to put it on my bucket list....LOL. Thanks for sharing and Take Care my friend :-))
I HAVE TO SAY "THANK YOU" =D FOR SHARING THAT DAY, YOU AND YOUR WIFE ARE BLESSED AND THE DOGS ARE BEAUTIFUL, STAY BLESSED MY FRIEND AND KEEP MAKEING GREAT VIDEOS....
Dog translation "Lets GO already! You got us hitched up, what's the problem." They want their endorphin fix. Sled dogs are endorphin junkies. They love to RUN.
Always wanted to do that. Brings back memories. Had a family of large Samoyeds for 25 years. Samyods were used by Amudsen to go to the North Pole. Although not as fast as most,]they reportedly have amazing stamina that does not quit and cooperate and other admirable personality traits. The little white fuzzz balls that they have at the dog shows are not the traditional working Samoyed which is getting hard to find. One male I had was 110 pounds. AKC shows limit males to no more than 65.#
Awesome! That last dog you were cuddling looks so great. Looking at those tails when they were running I could see there was a great deal of tension in that team. That would make me very nervous. You saw in my vid only Bruno (the wheel dog on the right) had his tail up. He cant help it (its the exception to the rule :-)) But from all other dogs I have tail up = Houston we got a problem coming up :-) Great environment to mush in and I love the look of those dogs. Take care my friend!
@bushcraftbartons I know the prob. Funny as patient as they are with people they have a pretty low tolerance for their own :-) Your country must be very nice for mushing. Do you take a dog out on skis sometimes? Skijoring?
@varavild You are so right...they are very patient with people and yes there is a lot of land for them to play :) No I have never tried the skis....sure sounds like a lot of fun :) Maybe in the future.
What a wonderful time. The wife and I did an outing 20 years ago out in the Arapaho National Forest, West of Denver Colorado, only it was on snowmobiles. There was plenty of deep snow in the forest and it was snowing during out outing. It was noisy when running but I still remember the dead quiet beauty when we stopped. Dog sledding would have been sooo much better and a lot more fun ;-)
Excellent Mike and Josie. Nothing like seeing dogs doing what they were born to do. Just want to take them home but unfortunately no snow here at the present time.
Dogs are better than most people I know. I always wondered how those with working sled dogs packed enough food to care for them on long hauls. Or, do you just make certain you are able to stop where there is food available for them? Do you water them during the breaks and have to set up a fire to melt snow to so do?
@BonnieBlue2A They usually will haul the food for them and the dogs for the trip. For water when there is no rivers or creeks available the dogs will eat snow which is fine.
Dogs are great Mike ! Thanks
Loved to watch it
