  • my observation is perfect.....they said if friendly units are near the shredder he is in his passive mode....what if another shredder joins him....seems we can stack them up but dont give more dmg output ofc

  • @Illumirage of course not... there are too many ways to exploit mech especially in TvP.... u need some sort of static defense like spider mines were in bw... planetaries are not worth it... they die too fast and are too big... its not "stealthy" so u can get enemies off guard.... what u can is spam sensorial towers in maps where u can cut it in half (aka not big maps) so u sort of force the attack path, making the opponent fight along ur tank line!

    not really. Upgraded and stim marines/marauders, slow push tanks that leap-frog and some thors maybe to beef it up a little. Sorry, that's very hard to stop no matter what team you're up against.

    I didn't think anyone would rely on JUST factory units. Just as I'd never rely on just spire units, or just gateway. SC2 doesn't work that way. Still, with that said, the Thors are WAY OP, Tanks and bio are a tough composition, especially w/ mules for mech-heal. Air support, etc.

    What I'm getting at is that Terran is OP in general.

    Thors are OP. Here's why I think so. For zerg, there is no ONE unit that dominates Thors. I can't say that about any other unit in the entire game.

    You need a combo of ling-roach to really crush them.

  • @Illumirage True, but you also need to think about how they require an armory (I suppose they will get this anyways for upgrades) But also they are very immobile and expensive for the most part. Also as zerg you can always magic box your mutalisk. To be honest, I think they are just fine, like against Protoss they suck and against Zerg they are an expensive, immobile, unit that Zerg has trouble against straight on but still... I mean I could say mutas are OP, since they are so fast.

    Medivacs can carry them, thus negating your immobile argument. Magic Boxed mutas still get raped, a rule of thumb for Zerg is don't take your Mutas anywhere near a thor.

    Mutas aren't OP.

    Vs. Terran - Thors, 'rines.

    Vs. Toss - Templar, Archon.

    Vs. Zerg - Infestors.

    It's that simple really, all those units DESTROY mutas.

  • @Illumirage Ok look... Mutas aren't supposed to kill units, they are meant to kill mineral lines with their high speed, as they stay away from the less mobile enemy units. Also, magic boxing thors works really well... not sure what you are talking about... mutalisk are only countered by Psi Storm if you are asleep and don't just run away, same with archons, they are extremely slow. Then Infestors, good luck catching the muta, same with the Thor, if he is transporting it just kill the medivac lol

    Mutas can be used to kill units. Them, paired w/ lings work pretty well.

    Magic boxing thors works if there's like 4 or less. Otherwise they're all dead.

    Psi storm, you're right.

    Like one well placed fungal will buy enough time to move more infestors into place to throw down about 2 more which can potentially kill dozens of mutas, if placed right.

  • @Illumirage Well Idk... once uve hit the 5 thor mark I think you should be completely safe from mutas by that point considering how hard it is to get to that mark... but anyways, Terran still is OP, not gonna lie about that.

    I don't know what race you play but from a zerg perspective yes, thors are OP. Not ONE SINGLE unit of ours rapes thors. Unlike toss where their most basic unit does. Yes, mules for mech heal, have you never used that in a crunch?

  • @Illumirage ok first off roaches and lings and pretty much anything does well against thors, thor is not a all round good unit its mainly against higher counts of mutas and mules repair the same rate as scvs.... and only idiots waste mules just to repair like 100 hp of a thor..

    Yeah, roaches AND lings together do well against them. Just roaches vs. thors, or just lings vs. thors, thors win. Again, no ONE unit rapes them.

    I wouldn't readily waste mules on them either, but I'm sure you've (if you play T) been in the situation where either your SCV's either got picked off, or it's some type of desperation move to beat a force you otherwise wouldn't beat...

This unit would only be useful in stopping smaller units like the zergling, it's designed to stop light harassment. Any army rolling through an expansion will be able to take this thing out with no problems.

    You're right, but I still maintain my position that Terran didn't need any more defenses. They already have a pretty hard shell to crack. Give the D buff to Zerg, we can't even fuckin' wall off for christ's sake. We need to make a separate building to deflect air or ground, we squander a worker every building, etc.

    Blizzard needs to quit sucking Terran's dick.

  • @Illumirage I will agree with you that Blizzard does seem to be Terran favored. And I do see a sort of nerf coming to this unit if it is implemented. A DPS nerf or a range nerf would be acceptable IMO.

  • @1000travis not even range, you could just add 1 more to defend a choke, it needs a big dps nerf. This unit is absolutely a wrong direction, it just makes terran being able to turtle a lot more and thats not a good thing. You can defend a run by of lings by doing absolutaly nothing, it's just wrong.

  • The thing about these though, is that even if one allied unit walks into the circle, it is disabled. so if the terran has poor micro i imagine you can lure one of their units into their circle. Also, zerg's have a grapple now, so grapple one of the terran into the circle? just a thought lol

    Probably. We Zerg have had the odds stacked against us all this time, I don't think Terran needs too many more buffs.

  • @Illumirage Throwing that aside the stats actually do state Protoss is the worse, Protoss wins 45% of games, Zerg 50%, and Terran 55%. Believe it or not PvZ is 57% in favor of Zerg lol.

    Well, you're probably right, but...for some reason I find that hard to believe. The mid/end-game 'toss death ball is unstoppable. Even just pumping out and upgrading a unit like the stalker can usually get a win. What single zerg unit can you say that about? Add to that a few sentries and some templar and it's almost a guarantee, not to mention proxy pylon warp in pressure if it all fails.

  • @Illumirage I play Terran and I know that my race is imbalanced in all matchups however I feel as though Zerg qqs too much because while they have a huge disadvantage in TvZ, Protoss actually has just as big a disadvantage in PvZ, as well as having a disadvantage in PvT therefore I feel that Zerg shouldn't be buffed, more like Terran needs nerfs and Protoss needs buffs. Like, I get Zergs are bad against Terran but they are real good vs Toss.I know this from watching tournaments and the win rates

    I watch tournaments and all the top players commentaries and shit, don't think you're the only one. I'm just saying, Toss has an answer for everything. I wouldn't get all down on your luck. Anything I throw at a toss player, they have a tougher response for it. Win rates...meh....

  • lol this syncs perfectly with Terran, low mobility and high aoe damage. sorry you can't play Terran and big a toss ball and 'a' click on their base.

    zerg has plenty of new amazing siege breaking units to deal with this and toss is always stupid, op, and simple. just how the play styles are.

  • Fucking ridiculous. U could just get like 5 of those in front of ur whole base and it doesnt matter if u have an army; no ground force can attack you. That with a wall is insane. Just cut the unit and get something else, it was a bad idea to begin with.
