although a lot of the lyrics are about death, that's the only similarity it has with death metal. The vocals are more of a black metal style, and some of the guitar lines are bordering neo-classical.  I usually call them melodic black metal, but the band themselves just call themselves metal.

But no, it's definitely not power metal, listen to some DragonForce and compare =P

I tried to play the solo as close to how he plays it live (used the live in seoul video)... i dunno if he does a slide or not, the vid wasn't always focused on the guitar, but im confused as to which bit you're on about anyway.

I didn't use the whammy bar cause im pretty sure my bridge is messed up, it goes crazyly out of tune so I never bother with the bar.

However im planning to do another video of just the solo once i repractice it and get it up to standards.

The Kissing the shadows tab on mysongbook.com seemed wrong to me... so i downloaded the live in Seoul video of Kissing the shadows and watched alexi played it,

Im pretty sure he does 5 string arpeggioes with an added tapped note rather than the way on the tab (the tab barres across 3 strings etc)

So i just played it how it was easier for me, and probably how alexi does it anyway... the other way would have been too much hassle to learn

In the end of the first "main" solo, there is an satanic arpeggio involving notes after the 20th, and I saw one video here at youtube (Japan show i guess) where Laiho doesnt play this arpeggio according to the guitar-pro4 tab I have. The same happened with u.
