In a dvr, tivo, Boxee world, having it on your time/terms in increasingly important. That being said, though, the energy and immediacy of the live event drives action more effectively.
Your model for producing the videos is a great one to follow though, Paul.

The concept is cool, but the medium is screaming for visuals. Not radio with pictures - how about some production values to really bounce it along?
