  • Hey man how you doing? I have a question, I found an RX-7 and decided to make it look more modern with the 99 spec parts, and the steering wheel as well. Only thing I haven't found are the side fenders with the openings for the 99 spec style sidemarkers. Have you found any store that might be selling those type of sidefenders?

  • dude 99's were only RHD...you only got the exterior parts (taillights, bumper, skirt)

  • sexy rx7! I have 99 spec swapped twins and can boost the shit out of them! :p

  • one of the big 3 to come out of japan during the 90's. the skyline the supra and of course the fd! amazing car.

  • Once a legend, always a legend. My favourite car! This one looks sleek!

  • gawd thats the badest rx7 ive seen!

  • was there a grman spec 02 or is this just made to look like an 02 but it's really a 95

  • wow am i mistakin or is that a left hand drive if it is woow you never see rx7 past 95 with left hand drive

  • rotaries are fucking perfectly fine if u keep the oil changed regulary and just keep it road worthy...

  • Americans sure love to make fools of themselves by preaching the wrong-as-right.............. This LHD "series-6" (92-95) is a 100% chance of NOT being a "series-8" (99-02) version. At best this Series-6 has a few Series-8 parts fitted to update its looks.

  • @DMRH69 Could be some dumb australian with working papers. lol good day mate lol

  • rebuild at 75,000k? HA ya maybe if you keep forgeting to top up your oil or over heat it all the time.

my 1st gen has 198,xxxk on it and is still going strong. all 6 faces read 95psi give or take a few psi.

i owned a few, at the moment i have 1 of each generation and i only rebuilt my 2nd gen so i could street port it.

never had one just blow on me like people say they do

  • @matrix4111

Hey you state, you have all 3 generations...which won do you like the best!

    I own an fb!

  • what are you talking about? fds were made from 92 to 02.

  • bitch, r u retarded?

its called a series 8, i drive one, i should know.

  • 93-95 in AMERICA, but sales were down so they stopped production in AMERICA, they sold a lot longer in Japan, so it could have been imported. Don't talk about what you don't understand. ROTARY FOREVER!!

  • You are right about that, but rotaries are pieces of shit

  • Rotaries are shit because people don't know how to take care of them and when to service them. Rebuild every 75,000 miles, have your apex seals PROFESSIONALLY put on, and don't drive in winter.

  • my point exactly, they have to be rebuilt at 75k but ive never seen one make it that far, and they cant be driven in the cold, but they are fast, my brother's made 465 at the wheels but it was nothing but a money pit, and even though it was built by motorsport dynamics in sac, it always blew apex seals

  • The Renesis is more reliable than the 13b rew, and the 16x is coming out in 2012. I've seen some that have made it to 150K, and thats on an FC also. They just aren't meant to be daily drivers. I'd love one as a track car though

  • hi there ,

i have a series 8 rx7, just want to know , as you said dont drive it in winter , can you explain why ? , please do reply

    thank you bye !!

  • RX-7's have had many problems gaining any traction in snow, ice, etc. Also, engine problems has been known to happen because of it being too cold. Idle may start acting up, like going up and down for no reason.

  • hi,

thank you for your reply, well were i live it is fairly cold or you can say its pleasant cold, max temperature recorded is 16.c , so iam safe , i do take good car of my car changing oil and coolant regularly , (1500km to be precise) , love the RX-7

    bye.

  • fuckin retard, think before you speak!

  • You are such an American. The rest of the world laughs their arses off at muppets like you. Keep it up! :)

  • 99 rx7? they stopped making them in like 95 i thought

  • 95 was the last year of production for the FD in the united states. however, they continued until 2001 in japan. 2002 if you count the release of the Rx-7 Spirit R.

  • funny how people think that a car is not made just cause the US no longer sells it. Few people know the info you just said. :)

  • Anybody who ever played a gran turismo knows that mazda made a rx7 past 95, since every gran turismo since 2 has had a spirit r in it.

  • It also goes to show that many people that dis the car/engine in general dont know much about them and just say what they hear from other people/experts. I used to be the same way before I began to understand just how good, special, and unique the car/engine is. Now, I own an 8 myself and is so much fun to drive. The car/engine is much better than the crap people say about it.

  • Rotorary engines are brilliant. Never said anything bad about them. Its amazing how a 1.3 or 2.0 liter put that kinda power down. I drive a 89' supra, never driven a rotarty though.

  • I was not saying you said anything bad about them. Many do and do not fully understand the engine or physics for that matter. Nice car you drive. I like that long nose 86.5 to 92 think it is. the 93 had that more rounded look. That are great cars with the inline 6. Friend of mine has a 94 pushing about 650 think it was.

  • Very nice. I would love a MK IV. After i get new injectors i should be at about or above 400rwhp through my auto. After that my engine mods are done, time to pretty it up.

  • actualy they stopped making it in 02 or 01 they stopped it in america in 95

  • sexy!

  • It just has a 99 front and a 99 rear spoiler. Thats all. Its not a real "99 spec" rx7. The front fender is a dead giveaway that its not. And yes i know, i own an FD.

  • front fender? As far as i know fenders are the same for all FDs

  • actualy the j-spec fds have a side marker light right above the air inlet

  • Damn yes i forgot about that. I have a J-spec myself

  • Like someone said, jdm FD's have the side markers.

  • why do americans say "99 spec" just say series 8 ya tossers and why is it left hand drive? seems suspect to me

  • Befor i make u look like a complete idiot, school this "American" on every U.S.rx7 starting with the 1ST GEN. Oh excuse me series "1"

  • Such a nicer looking car than the RX8!

  • @anx1300c YUP! Mazda needs to bring this design back to the next RX. Up the reliability of the engine and the car and we're talking cash exchange!

  • it doesnt look like the spirit R.. most likely just the kit and signal light change.

  • duh....If nobody noticed yet...the dead givaway of why its not a real Spirit R is that hes driving on the left hand side

  • its prob just a 93 94 95 rx7 but he bought the 99 spec kit and all that

  • I've been wanting an RX-7 since I saw the car in a mag some time back.

How da hell is a guy supposed to get one of them? I don't do imports lol. But I'm guessin I have to.

  • Thats a Spirit R. They only made 1500 of those, and only in Japan. That is a very nice car.

  • it's just the 99 spec parts

  • nice fd put up more vids

  • hahaha nutz car man awsime kit

  • that's nearly stock kit dude

  • this car is the best !
