Im sorry!!! I'm a G3 Krav Maga Instructor trained by Eyal Nick Zeev and Tal. This is a joke, this guy IS NOT Krav Maga, no body defence, explosive technique or anything that makes basic sense. Facebook is alive with true Krav Maga Instructors and students Laughing at this demo and the others posted. The worrying thing is if people are following these techniques as Krav Maga they are ill prepared for a real life situation. I suggest looking at KMG website for real Krav Maga.
Great demo. I'm a great admirer of Krav Maga as well. I fully agree with this technique but I see that there could be a flaw depending on your opponent. After he traps the kick it seems there could be a back hand from the kicker but he didn't mention keeping your free hand up for defense. I've never practiced this maneuver so I don't quite know the range. What are everyones opinions?
@reiters27 I'd suggest you stick to legitimate instructors (which you probably already try since you questioned this technique -and that's great-). Moni Aizik (the guy on the left) is not the source you'd want to lern from. Look him up, he claims a LOT of stuff and proves little. Of course, I'm not qualified in any way to tell you he isn't what he claims to be, but I'd try to learn from any of the other, much closer and reliable students of Imi Litchenfeld.
First, you're supposed to hit with the heel of the foot. Second, catching a sidekick is not easy. Third, the sidekick is a slow kick compared to e.g front kick, roundhouse kick, thus should be used in a combo e.g Front kick + sidekick + Reverse turning kick/spinning side kick. Fourth, even though the sidekick is slow, it should be faster. Fifth, more balance meaning KEEP YOUR ARMS TUGGED IN! Sixth, the last part of the kick is not sharp enough.
@ForTheFutureOfMusic Great critique on kicking with your 15 yrs. experience. Now then, how many years of real war combat have you seen?.......oh none?.....I see.....then maybe you should just watch the video and be quiet..........you think????
@jeffsor47 I've had to fight of a few robbers here and there. But other than that, none. I mean is the goal to get into combat? No. So please be quiet.
@jeffsor47 Sorry i'm 35 yrs old, you ignorant 12 yr old kid. You got some anger issues. Learn to respect the elderly. I bet you're a real pain to your parents. Hah!
@ForTheFutureOfMusic Once again you show your ignorance by not taking your own advice. I was l out of college when you were born. This is just another example of you talking out of your ass again without knowing anything . Now go away, I'm getting bored with you.
making the painful hold standing up like here is senseless and dangerous! Opponent might just throw out other leg and make it done if he hits your chin))))) And other weak point in this demonstration: to catch a sidekick is never easy! At least not as easy as its shown!
Most of these commenters are ignorant they want you to get a real tae kwon do kicker in there or real wrestlers for takedowns but for what, the streets aren't littered with karate experts. And by the way this move would be perfect for MMA. Doubt you'd get the ankle lock finish; but you never know.
He did the lock wrong, he should hold the other guys leg down with his knee to keep his hips down, makes the lock more effective and more painful because he can't bring his hips up to reduce the leverage the guy standing has on his ankel
@celtodeath no you can finish it standing too its just harder to finish and less secure but Krav Maga is for reality situations not MMA so chances are you don't want to be on the ground
He did the lock wrong, he should hold the other guys leg down with his knee to keep his hips down, makes the lock more effective and more painful because he can't bring his hips up to reduce the leverage the guy standing has on his ankel
worst side kick ever...get a REAL taekwondo guy in there.
however that same technique works quite well for round kicks or any kind of circular kick. As a taekwondo practitioner looking to one day take krav...i suggest you just try to dodge a sidekick...because if a TKD guy is sending one of those at you your going to get messed up ( its about 10 times faster than this video and ofter comes in a veriety of ways so you don't ever anticipate it ).
These videos only tells us that speed of the mind and hence, moving at least 1 step of ahead of your enemy will win the fight. Doesn't really matter what style you use.
@44michaelrage If his krav maga is so bad it's a cinch YOU could defeat him......right?.....no? You sound like just another expert "know nothing" sitting in your E Z chair with a pizza and a beer. Remember, there are those who can DO and those who can Criticize. You may know more about pizza and beer than Moni but fighting obviously ain't your thing........try butterfly collecting, it might be a good fit!. Yea, Yea, I know you've taken martial arts too......Bullshit!

@Shuukyou I agree with you. There is no such thing as a system that developed in a vacuum and, therefore, no system which has not borrowed from or even been directly derived from another/others. ALL martial arts (even traditional systems) where derived from older systems. Therefore, like you wrote, techniques can't be "stolen." People who make such statements show they know absolutely nothing about the history of the development of martial arts.
I know im not a martial artist. Krav is not a martial art, it is a brutal, simple, instinctive, and effectinve hand to hand combat system. there is a difference. and krav actually does work against other martial arts, ive sparred jujitsu/karate black belts, and beat them
have you heard all you morons badmouthing either the video, the partipants or each other. Just watch the fucking vids, keep your illiterate unintelligent rants to yourselves you halfwits. God almighty, do they actually give you pricks a vote in who runs the country? God help us....
An average schmuck could also be trained in martial arts. You never know!
By the way, I have never met an average schmuck who has attacked me with a stupid sidekick. They either try to punch you in the face or grab you and pull you down to the ground. I have trained Thaiboxing for 15 years and I have never used a sidekick in a real fight. Its better to use front kicks, knees and elbows.
@scientist501 I am by no means an expert in martial arts but isn't the point of this self defense against the average schmuck and not a professional boxer? :)
@Ronni3no2 yes and no. there are many ways to defend against one attack. and in krav maga, there are defenses that will work better against experienced fighters. also, krav maga is hand to hand combat. boxing is a sport. if it is krav vs pro boxer in a boxing match, the boxer will win because there are specific rules that krav is not use to. if its krav vs pro boxer on the streets with no rules (a real fight) krav will most likely win
@OscarDelta Alpha Krav maga has no basic concept. It is good against an ignorant to save your ass but...it is a mix stolen art.It uses footage, tecniks and many other from many arts from diferrent concepts. So u are not really be a martial artist because your body has no specific knowledge.U learn like u watch photos.Only freeze moments. It uses alot of wing chun but in a wrong way..Basically another business of martial arts..

your statement is irrelevant. Look at the word Martial Art. It is the art of war or self defense. I simply don't see any logic in your statement
@Ilanactingreel The chain u mentioned is totally logic. All these arts are very close and familliar. From which chain comes Krav? What i mean is that i cant get out in the market with an art with no basic principles, forms, experiences and say hey that is a new art.NO!!In that way everybody can create an art. Some BJJ,KUNG FU ,MUAI TAI and here we are!And i do NOT connect the effectivity cause that is totally relevant in my opinion for every art.
I think anyone can start a martial art. People have been doing it throughout history. In the philipines systems were created due to the need for defense. @dlvt79 U train on other ma and u should know !!Boxing-kickboxing is a sport but that doesnt mean that it can be less effective.Speed, accuracy, charakter, power, enviroment etc create the result of a fight and not the art by his own.
when i say a kick is a kick I mean there are only so many angles someone can attack from. Once you understand angles of attack you can pretty much learn to cover up anything. Krav magas philosophy is not to teach you to defend a specific move but an angle and built reactions and timing which is actually an effective philosophy for training given the amount of time they want soldiers ready in
@Ilanactingreel That ia another matter if u speak for soldiers. But most people ara not soldiers.U may disagree but i dont think any soldier can actually learn in depth a martial art.
by the way I personally don't practice krav maga and wouldn't. It isn't a system of my liking. I have been doing BJJ, Muay Thai and Philipino martial arts most of my life. But personally i think it is a system none the less. Is boxing a martial art? Kickboxing? Are you trying to differentiate between a self defense system and "martial art" because that makes more sense
An average schmuck could also be trained in martial arts. You never know!
By the way, I have never met an average schmuck who has attacked me with a stupid sidekick. They either try to punch you in the face or grab you and pull you down to the ground. @scientist501 Guess what stupid fuck? A lot of Krav Maga is made up of muy thai. Krav Maga is a mix of many martial arts. And that is more of the flashy advanced moves in krav, there are many defenses against kicks, and some of those defenses are very simply and can be used against a thai kick. And krav in used in the military, including the US special forces. Clearly you dont know shit. I do, my uncle does Muy Thai and I do krav maga. so get some fucking experience before commenting.
@OscarDeltaAlpha It is with great effort that I´m replying to your comment. To start with you don´t strike me as a very clever person. Judging by your comment and the way you express yourself I would guess that you are a somewhat retarded Jewish guy in his early twenties, who thinks krav Maga is God´s gift to martial arts. Heh heh...
@OscarDeltaAlpha As you do not seem to be properly informed of the origin of Krav Maga I would like to take a couple of minutes to enlighten you!
Krav Maga has not much in common with Muy Thai. Get your facts straight you retard!
I would say that Krav Maga is a direct plagiarism of Filipino martial arts (FMA) which includes Kali, Escrima Wing tsun, etc. I have 20 years experience from Muy Thai, FMA and Kung Fu so I know what I am talking about. I would love to challenge you and your uncle ;-)
@Ilanactingreel I am not a racist just because I critisize the video. Any idiot with half a brain can see that this is bullshit. I have fought both inside and outside the ring and I have never been attacked by a stupid sidekick!
If someone kicks you with enough force you wont be able to grab their leg without getting knocked. Best thing is to move to out of the way, block and counter attack.
It's really not one of the most efficient ways to finish your technique . Why don't you go for groin attack ? Why do you grab him and make yourself vulnerable for other attackers surrounding you ?!
Anyway those who watched it , you should never do this in real situation ...
Krav Maga is the original defense sport of the mossad and is based on natural reflexes if you want to see Krav maga in action just watch the bourne movies ;)
@hunglow8in I know but the trainer is originally trained on krav maga, Kali is about disarming a person and looks more like boxing it has nothing to do with krav maga, the only kali you see in the movie's is when he disarms his enemies
@hunglow8in I know but the trainer is originally trained on krav maga, Kali is about disarming a person and looks more like boxing it has nothing to do with krav maga, the only kali you see in the movie's is when he disarms his enemies. Kali is from the fillipines and is bruce lee style.
Krav Maga is not a martial art. It is a way of training and an attitude. The techniques of Krav Maga comes from other martial arts such as jujutsu, boxing, etc.
How in the hell is this gonna save your life ? Moni Aizik is indeed a fraud. fairtradeandy I bet you take it in the A-S-S from Moni. That's why your defending him on every crappy CKM video
Another posting by fairtradeany quoting the party line. Fairtradeandy - you clearly work for Aizik. Do you write under other ids here to - your method of writing seems familiar.....
know Aizik is a fraud - you know full well Aizik lied and you know full well this is all bull...
Email Itau Gill or Nir maman - who both taught the Israeli special forces. They know the real story behind Aizik.
@clearcombat As a matter of fact, he was not only a fitness instructor, but was commissioned by the IDF to improve Krav Maga, or rather Kappar and Lotar. Moni's claims as to who he is have been verified by Black Belt Magazine, History, Discovery, and Military Channel. Moni Aizik is who he says he is. Now, other Krav Maga organizations are on a smear campaign to discredit Moni because his form of Krav Maga is a huge part of the Market for reality based systems. Moni is even expanding CKM.
@fairtradeandy You are in denial. There are hundreds of Blogs about him being a fraud. I respect the value of trying to make a buck, but why lie about your credentials to the entire world. I teach street combat and I tell everyone that I am not a pro fighter, but was a very good amateur at one time. He should have called it Moni's Street Combat.
Moni is on the run as of now. If he was so legit why is his website straying from the name Krav Maga?
Moni Aizik is not a fraud, as his claims and resume have now been verified by 3 TV stations such as: Discovery, History, and Military Channel. Further documents obtained by Black Belt Magazine he verified Moni Aizik is who he says he is. There are 3 really good Krav Maga instructors out there Moni Aizik is one, Itay Gil, and Major Avi Nardia, who are all Martial Arts champions of another discipline at some point in their life. Further, a US court has no Jurisdiction over the UK.
This is not Krav Maga. Its Moni Aizik pretending to do Krav Maga.
Remember this is the guy who was not a Commando or a Krav Maga Instructor who set up 'commando krav maga" Look up fake Israeli Instructors or Commando Krav Maga Sucks.
@fairtradeandy In what way is Aizik not a fraud. He sold overpriced 3 day courses on the basis he was a military krav maga instructor - an ex commando and taught the Israeli Military. All turned out to be untrue. Hence US court cases ad him being prevented from making the special forces claims in the UK by trading standards. In short he mislead people - took their money ion false pretenses - in what way is he not a fraud ?? Google fake Israeli Instructors
You know…there’s diz Brazilian influenced Japanese Jujitsu called Brazilian Gayjitsu. I like to see some Japanese influence on diz Israelis Krav Maga so it will become Krav Manga! Brah ha ha ha!

@Ilanactingreel That ia another matter if u speak for soldiers. But most people ara not soldiers.U may disagree but i dont think any soldier can actually learn in depth a martial art.

@dlvt79
by the way I personally don't practice krav maga and wouldn't.

@Ronni3no2
An average schmuck could also be trained in martial arts. You never know!
By the way, I have never met an average schmuck who has attacked me with a stupid sidekick. They either try to punch you in the face or grab you and pull you down to the ground. I have trained Thaiboxing for 15 years and I have never used a sidekick in a real fight. Its better to use front kicks, knees and elbows.
scientist501 11 months ago
@scientist501 Guess what stupid fuck? A lot of Krav Maga is made up of muy thai. Krav Maga is a mix of many martial arts. And that is more of the flashy advanced moves in krav, there are many defenses against kicks, and some of those defenses are very simply and can be used against a thai kick. And krav in used in the military, including the US special forces. Clearly you dont know shit. I do, my uncle does Muy Thai and I do krav maga. so get some fucking experience before commenting.
OscarDeltaAlpha 11 months ago
@OscarDeltaAlpha It is with great effort that I´m replying to your comment. To start with you don´t strike me as a very clever person. Judging by your comment and the way you express yourself I would guess that you are a somewhat retarded Jewish guy in his early twenties, who thinks krav Maga is God´s gift to martial arts. Heh heh...
scientist501 11 months ago
@OscarDeltaAlpha As you do not seem to be properly informed of the origin of Krav Maga I would like to take a couple of minutes to enlighten you!
Krav Maga has not much in common with Muy Thai. Get your facts straight you retard!
I would say that Krav Maga is a direct plagiarism of Filipino martial arts (FMA) which includes Kali, Escrima Wing tsun, etc. I have 20 years experience from Muy Thai, FMA and Kung Fu so I know what I am talking about. I would love to challenge you and your uncle ;-)

i wonder if your racist...
that was sarcasm by the way. Although internet tough guys are a dime a dozen :)
Ilanactingreel 9 months ago
@Ilanactingreel I am not a racist just because I critisize the video. Any idiot with half a brain can see that this is bullshit. I have fought both inside and outside the ring and I have never been attacked by a stupid sidekick!
If someone kicks you with enough force you wont be able to grab their leg without getting knocked. Best thing is to move to out of the way, block and counter attack.
scientist501 9 months ago
Like Kanye Said: Wing Chun did it better lol! At least the side kick counter anyways
dss103 1 year ago
It's really not one of the most efficient ways to finish your technique . Why don't you go for groin attack ? Why do you grab him and make yourself vulnerable for other attackers surrounding you ?!
Anyway those who watched it , you should never do this in real situation ...

Krav Maga is the original defense sport of the mossad and is based on natural reflexes if you want to see Krav maga in action just watch the bourne movies ;)

hunglow8in 1 year ago
@hunglow8in I know but the trainer is originally trained on krav maga, Kali is about disarming a person and looks more like boxing it has nothing to do with krav maga, the only kali you see in the movie's is when he disarms his enemies

I've learned more simplier and better techniques in my Krav class's, but it's just my opinion, good vids ;)

He was a fitness instructor for the army for a short time. He never learned krav maga.
I almost took an instructors course, but did my research and fond out he was an imposter of sorts.
clearcombat 1 year ago 2
@clearcombat As a matter of fact, he was not only a fitness instructor, but was commissioned by the IDF to improve Krav Maga, or rather Kappar and Lotar. Moni's claims as to who he is have been verified by Black Belt Magazine, History, Discovery, and Military Channel. Moni Aizik is who he says he is. Now, other Krav Maga organizations are on a smear campaign to discredit Moni because his form of Krav Maga is a huge part of the Market for reality based systems. Moni is even expanding CKM.
fairtradeandy 1 year ago
@fairtradeandy You are in denial. There are hundreds of Blogs about him being a fraud. I respect the value of trying to make a buck, but why lie about your credentials to the entire world. I teach street combat and I tell everyone that I am not a pro fighter, but was a very good amateur at one time. He should have called it Moni's Street Combat.
Moni is on the run as of now. If he was so legit why is his website straying from the name Krav Maga?
clearcombat 1 year ago
Moni Aizik is not a fraud, as his claims and resume have now been verified by 3 TV stations such as: Discovery, History, and Military Channel. Further documents obtained by Black Belt Magazine he verified Moni Aizik is who he says he is. There are 3 really good Krav Maga instructors out there Moni Aizik is one, Itay Gil, and Major Avi Nardia, who are all Martial Arts champions of another discipline at some point in their life. Further, a US court has no Jurisdiction over the UK.
fairtradeandy 1 year ago
This is not Krav Maga. Its Moni Aizik pretending to do Krav Maga.
Remember this is the guy who was not a Commando or a Krav Maga Instructor who set up 'commando krav maga" Look up fake Israeli Instructors or Commando Krav Maga Sucks.
somersetkravmaga 1 year ago
Looks like this form of Krav Maga is better than the normal Krav Maga. I wonder how Kappap and Lotar look. This is cool.
fairtradeandy 1 year ago
@fairtradeandy In what way is Aizik not a fraud. He sold overpriced 3 day courses on the basis he was a military krav maga instructor - an ex commando and taught the Israeli Military. All turned out to be untrue. Hence US court cases ad him being prevented from making the special forces claims in the UK by trading standards. In short he mislead people - took their money ion false pretenses - in what way is he not a fraud ?? Google fake Israeli Instructors

That is NOT Krav Maga...it's Moni Aizik and his "Commando Krav Maga" bullshit...it's nothing to do with Krav.
