well I think my Midrange's flame is hotter than a mini cc. I use o2 tanks...k tanks...and propane. Its probably the burner. My o2 tanks cost about 25 dollars now and to make this pipe I would have used MAYBE a third of one tank. I dont use my Midrange much anymore (I use mostly my Redmax) but I love my midrange, it burns hot. I've done 2" marbles on it. Hope that answered your questions.
I don't get it, I have a mini cc, and if I spent an hour on a pipe, I would have burned through more then 20 dollars worth of oxygen and propane (not to mention glass).
What gives? Do you use an O2 concentrator and natural gas? A more efficient burner? What is the difference here?
Watched all 7 of these and all I have to say is i'm inspired. Im in the process of learning how to blow glass at home as a hobby. Any tips would be appreciated. Any good sites to check out?
these are the most helpful videos i could ask for....im really glad you do this man and i cant wait to see what you come out with next....oh and great taste in music
I found your vids about a week ago. I have got to tell you man... you catapulted my art into the future. Lord knows how long it would have taken me to figure this stuff out. I have been blowing glass for 2 or 3 years now off and on and I am self tought. Keep up the great work. If your ever in Houston, Texas drop me an email and I'll show you the shop.
Ooof, I have a tip for ya for laying down your stringers. Plug the hole on your handle with some paper towel or something... and shoot a real short (pinpoint) flame in there and lay the color down like a wet noodle. The flame wont go into the handle so your hand will be nice and cool. But you'll have to open it up a bit more, but it makes it much easier to get a nice pattern and make shapes.
Yeah I do plug up the hole I dont think you can tell from the video though. I dont do the small flame and lay down the stringers like noodles because on this pipe I did basic stringer setup (just cobalt). For other pipes where I am trying to lay down nicer stringers I do open it up and use the small flame. Thanks for the pointer though.
