i did not know that you can trip the opponent turing sparring... is it because its close contact sparing? i done so far only free sparing... is it only for black belts?
I was on the WKA team that lost to the TAGB in the semi, Full respect to the TAGB a great team with fantastic kicks & a lot of heart! we all enjoyed our fights against you. I did notice that you left out of your video the most spectacular knockout of the event when are fighter Michael Page Knocked out your heavyweight with an awesome straight right hand! Nice video thou!
@GU5S i though that in TKD comps there are no head punches allowed? although you can throw any kick you like? the fights on the night were good and the TAGB were impressive but bboyfastdan has a point the judging was very one sided
This comp was a good watch but gotta say I've never seen such baised judging (toward TAGB) in all my life! Add to that the fact TAGB bought about 75% of the tickets to resell to their own club it made for a very one sided evening. And finally the over-showmanship of the entire TAGB squad (including trainers) was quite embarrassing. Incidentally I am a member of TAGB before anyone says I'm bitter. Just saying it how I saw it.
@bboyfastdan The TAGB bought so many of the tickets because they were and i'm generalising but i'm sure i'm right by far the biggest organisiation attending. if they hadn't have been aloud to buy so many of the tickets they wouldn't have been sold and that would have made the whole day a failure. In addition, from what i've seen on the videos, the TAGB deserved to win every fight they did win. Just saying :)
Wow, SANDMANxvx, you are misinformed. Minus the sweeps that is pretty much exactly how we fight in the TAGB. The squad did do a lot of training for this but only because it was Full contact rules which they had to adapt to a bit. We fight semi, but in senior divisions it might as well be full conact. They only found out about sweeps on the night, and look how easily they adapted. As for the olympics, you are aware it is WTF style and that TAGB are ITF tae kwon do are you? Big difference you know
It looks good because the martial arts are anything but TKD with the exception of the TAGB. The TAGB trained for months especially for this event adapting a style and using techniques they wouldn't use normally... Boxing for one! Or so I heared. Don't belive me, one word - olympics
@SANDMANxvx - good point about the different styles, but knowing some of these people personally, they have been training in boxing for some years now and not just before the Clash.
i know all of the competitors in the black and gold suits :D WOOO. I love being a 2nd dan, and being with Mark Farnham Schools of TKD, under the TAGB.
This is a good example of good ITF! I usually prefer to watch almost any stand up striking art rather than tkd, but the standard looks pretty good at this event!
Cool! I just assumed because it was ITF rules and TAGB it was tkd. All the competitors seemed of a very good standard! Where did this event take place?
@ddandbd ived trained many styles thai boxing lau gar and mma i always keep up my tkd i fucking love it ile keep training till i cant go for my 2nd dan this year a bit late should of took it last year but i was lazy getting umpires done as soon as i can get there i will be going the squad training soon i live in brum but been wanting to get down there for a while :)
Sincere congrats to TAGB team and their respective coaching staff for a magnificent display.
I am a coach with the GBMAA, so many of the WKA England team are colleagues and friends of mine. This does not stop me however from recognising the strength in depth of TAGB talent that earned a well deserved victory.

@ginwok1 only in WTF ( Olympic ) Tae Kwon Do. In ITF you can punch to the head as much or as little as you like.
