This is a genre known as skat, or doo wop. its traditionally done a capella and obviously there are no words. the harmonies are pretty easy, usually thirds and all doo wop has great rhythm and the great thing is almost anything goes. you can throw in a solo (like phil's done at about 1:12) and as long as you stay with the beat you can do anything. its super fun
