Ive seen a lot of these brochures...they break them down by categories. Really now, how much easier can they make it? If its on the menu, and you wnat to know its nutritional content, then put on the thinking cap and look the fucking thing up. ITS NOT HARD\!!!!! Jeez, this country is turing into a bunch of whining fucktaps that gotta have everything handed to them!!!!!!
This is absolutely insane! When people get fast food, it is usually when they are in a hurry... and they're stopping to read a poster-sized sheet when there are only 4 item menus at McDonald's that don't include sugar. These people should have simply left when they saw what was contained!
I'm curious to as if any actually left when realizing what they were doing!
I've tried to look at those brochures, and they are a real pain in the butt to find things and look across the long list of things they have.
Better to have it right there on the menu. In fact, they could put things up there according to the calorie count, with the highest on the top left and going down to the lowest. That way it would be easy to pick something that worked with your diet if you are on one.
Great news! California just passed into law SB 1420 which mandates menu labeling. Forget the crazy, complicated and obtuse brochures, in California we'll now be able to simply look up at the menu board. That's where the information belongs. Bravo!
Right on! I tried this once and spent 10 minutes waiting for the staff to even find a brochure. For heaven's sake, just post it right up there on the menu board! Good work!
I prefer to look up the nutrition information on a restaurant's website, but I've used those brochures. They're not that hard to figure out. Keep your glasses handy people!

This is the most insulting thing I have ever seen. Anything can be taken out of context, and that is exactly what the people who made this video want you to think! MAKE YOUR OWN DECISIONS AND BE INFORMED, NOT A SHEEP....Baaaa!
I think you are missing the point. By not making it easy for people to see or find the calorie counts on what they are buying, they can not make an informed decision. The fast food giants say - "Oh-just look at our brochures for the info." This video shows just how hard that is to do.
sir or madame, trust me, i'm getting the point. moreover, i am informed. i just think that the CCPHA has put a spin on something to promote their agenda. Where are the people that thought the brochures were just fine? Oh wait, they're not on the video are they? How about the people who said, "I don't CARE what the nutrional value of the food is." Oh wait....they are not on the video either.
The brochures may be fine, but they are not being read. The people who don't care probably do care on some level but are in purposeful denial. If faced with the information many people will make an alternate, informed decision. If you are in favor of people being informed, why are you opposed to making it easier to be informed? It's not insulting. It's realistic and practical. Our health care system is collapsing under the weight of obesity and people are suffering needlessly.
I fed my kid fast food while he was growing up because he liked it, it was convenient, cheap and came with toys. I didn't realize all those calories were leading up to his obesity and pre-diabetes. Seeing it up front would have influenced our choices - now it's rarely a fast food restaurant, if ever!
What a ruse by the restaurant industry! Do they really think people are going to look up the calorie content of their order in one of those silly brochures? No way! Like the lady in the video said, calorie information needs to be on the menu board where consumers can actually see it so they can make an informed decision about what they're eating.
Requiring all restaurants plainly divulge the nutritional value of their menu items, should not be question of should they, but rather, why has it taken us so long to demand it? The result of well-informed consumers will change the fast food industry into a healthier place to enjoy a quick meal.
This is a funny movie. Although if you miss the first few seconds (which can happen while youtube steams) you don't know why people look at all this printed paper until the end.
When I was at Burger King the other day (not by choice, I assure you!) the employees were dumbfounded when I asked for a nutritional brochure. The worker pointed to the poster on the wall behind the cash register and told me I was welcome to come back there if I wanted to! The whole process would be much easier if fast food joints just put the calories where everyone can see them.
An awareness of our food intake will help lower health care bills and will lead to an improved quality of life. Those lawsuits against McDo that claimed the burger place "made" the kids and patrons fat would have been avoided if the customer could see how many calories s/he is consuming.
Seems like a no-brainer to me. I wrote to my senator to make sure she endorses this Bill.
What a kick! The second guy is half way through the video before he even notices that he's looking at the wrong side of the brochure! I'd be trampled alive if I held up a BurgerKing line trying to figure out their silly brochure!
Everyone knows fast food isn't healthy and they go anyway. It's your own fault.

It's nearly impossible to find a brochure at a fast food restaurant much less read it quickly.

I think menu labeling is the way to go. I mean who has time to look at a brochure? p.s. the video buffers a lot!

No one interested in their health would go into a fast food place to begin with.

Like the one gal says," Why can't they just put it up there," pointing to the menu board.
Could it be becasue they know if people knew what they were getting they'd buy less - or perhaps buy nothing at all!
