So crazy. This was my second show. I wandered in with more paper in my pocket than I had probably ever seen at that point. I got soaked to the bone. Luckily the prize stayed dry through the whole show. I think I was at the back of that tarp you were holding. We were right in front of the stage left (Vince's side) camera rig. Luckily, we were right on the edge, so I could stick my head out for some fresh air every so often, cause it was smokey under there!
There was a dozen or so huge tarps over the crowd, some clear. Some were over 50 feet long covering 100's of people. It was funny because nobody had control of were the tarps crowd-surfed to as 100's of people took turns holding them up. They just kinda drifted every place. Under the tarps was about the only spot in the entire venue that day to roll a joint, if your stuff didn't get soaked prior! :) People sliding in the mud, fun day/night! 1 of the best places to see GD!!
This show was a TRIP! Traffic opened and then the skies opened up ~ it was crazy rain ~ complete w/ thunder & lightnin'! I had my 14 mo old daughter, Cassidy Rose, bundled up on my back & was 7 mo along w/ my now 16 yr old son.... Jeremy. It did clear up & Cassidy danced like crazy 4 set II ~ I didnt know til 2day that the day Cassidy was born, 6-11-93 the boys were there in Buckeye Lake - where did Cassidy see her 1st show? Buckeye Lake.... wild!
Duuuuude....Whatever made you post this and the others from this show is beyond me...BUT THANK YOU!!!!! This was my very 1st "Rain". I'll never 4get where I was when they stepped out that day w/ "Rain". I was in the front row between Vinny & Jerry and each of us were holding a tarp that went allllll the way back, probably beginning where Healy's soundboard was, and ALL THE RAIN was faling down in our faces. Needless 2 say, I dosed about 10 hits. Also, we got not 1 but 2 Beatles tunes that day!
I was just telling the guys in my band that story. Wow. I was probably just to your right and about 3 or four rows back. That was a one-time experience. Also my first "Rain".
This show was truely amazing! I had no idea how they were ever gonna play or if they would at all?! The rain was coming down about as hard as any rain I've ever been in my entire life! Lightning, thunder, it was all there. I was actually concerned about people up on the higher edges getting zapped by lightning! ;/
But they played anyways!! :) They couldn't have picked a better song to open with. Everyone was happy that day depite the rain.
a very memorable experience. if we hadnt parked near the red barn wed still be wandering.
