Im a die hard duranie.. im only 20 but D2 has been my moms favorite band her whole life.. and ive been too plenty of concerts and even met them at The Ritz in STL-where i live. they are an amazing band and i think this album is great. i love it - i can just put it on and let it play through the whole thing, but thats how any duran duran albums are. Yea its a lot different then their other albums but so is there newest album All You Need Is Now, D2 changes with time, and any good band would
I know "Red Carpet Massacre" wasnt too well received by Duran die hards, but I actually thought it was quite good. Ok there are some weak songs on the album, noticeably the likes of ( Dirty Great Monster ) & the title track, but apart from those two, in my estimation anyway, the rest are all good. In fact you wont hear a finer ballad than ( Shes Too Much ), I know it was an experimental album, but give Duran credit, at least you cant accuse them of being overly repetitive with their music taste.
Heavy metal is crap, long live proper serious music that is completely not perceived as such by snobby losers that love licking Paul Weller's arse & Madogga's pubes. This song is a belter and full of the brill, always evolving approach that Duran continue to deliver over loads of overacclaimed people like Depeche Mode, Simple Minds, U2, Sting and shitty Cure. 'The Valley' should have been released & it was discussed but typically didn't come to fruition. Typical Sony arseholes.
This is the jam right here. Simon's voice has not changed one bit in the 30 years they have been together. Still smooth as silk. I know alot of lead singers over many years, their voices don't sound like them any more. Simon, on a track or live, it's perfection!
Because their record label is full of idiots who don't know what singles to release and how to market anything! This whole CD was phenomenal and a couple of tracks would have been HUGE dance floor hits if they had been mixed and released properly. Listen to Tempted and Skin Divers.
This dark, dense, and serious electronic track, the electro punk of "Red Carpet Massacre" and the acoustic, western flavor of "Box Full of Honey" are RCM's top three tunes - epic in both beauty and beat - proof Duran Duran is as Progressive as Duran Duran is Pop.

I think Simon looks slightly feminine at 0:52. Not in a bad way, mind you, but he does look feminine.

"The Valley" is one of their best off "Red Carpet Massacre". I really liked the title track, "Box Full Of Honey", and "Night Runner", too . . .

Nick Rhodes takes a great synth solo on this track; he is a synth-sational sound designer and keyboard player.
